Decks

I have a shitty small concrete pad of a deck in my back yard. The problem is, it's too small and won't hold my 3 grills and patio furniture(pic rel).
I'm trying to figure out what to replace it with.
> Demo and increase the concrete pad
> Demo and replace with pavers
> Demo or maybe hide it with a wood/vinyl deck
> In B4 why do you have 3 grills (one offset smoker, one kamado, and one griddle).
I'm wondering what would be the most expensive vs affordable. Any ideas fellow DIYers?

hard to decide without seeing the more of the area.
I would say demo the concrete, and either replace with decorative concrete, or pavers.
300sq ft will cost you about $3k for either option if you pay someone. bricks arent cheap anymore

three grills on a deck sounds like a fire waiting to happen

Power wash, resurface and expand with additional pads. Demo costs would eat up a lot of the budget and time. Better to build off what you have existing and save time.

i would use the pad as a base for a wood deck which you can run even to the door's threshold. any extra posts you need can just be set on pier blocks. the whole thing can be done for maybe $2-3k depending on how detailed you want to get

this. just build a wood deck bigger than the pad

That is exactly what I did. Why waste time and labor tearing out the slab when you can just build over it.

because now you have a low spot right next to your house that puddles water 24/7 and prolly slopes towards the house too since its an old slab..

30years professional experience--you think that slab wasn't sloped away from the house's foundation? But thanks for the novice input.

Originally? Maybe it was done properly. Currently? 50% chance it doesn't.

You can always adhere stone to the top of the existing concrete and expand into the dirt by excavating, laying and compacting aggregate, and leveling the stones on aggregate to the adhered stones on the concrete. No reason to remove the current concrete.

    You have a shitty thread
    >Don't post any actual pictures of said patio
    >Don't provide any measurements
    >Don't have any clue of what you actually want
    >Can't do simple estimates with google
    >Proceeds to suck wiener on the daily
I'm wondering why you even created this thread? You clearly aren't a DIYer

What size is the current slab? What size do you want it? Budget? Most expensive done right is papers. Least probably would be expanding the pad. All a lot of work or money.
