"Cutting the Cable"

Cable company decided to up the bill by $100 a month so we called dropped cable. Got our internet upped to gigabit and installed one of these antennas. Now have 92 free channels. It was a interesting little build, instructions were mostly clear. The thing is the almost the size of a prius and weighs maybe a couple pounds. I'm still playing with the positioning of the antenna to get the most channels clearly. I miss analog channels though since even if it didn't come it perfectly it still was watchable, digital cutting out is annoying.
Has anyone one else gone through this? What did you try?

Well I've just got one of those flat antennas you stick to your window, werks on my machine. I vaguely recall there being a coverage map with the best directions to point your prius in, can't remember the website thoughever. Try googling it?

I've been using the site linked below to try and figure it out. I tried some flat indoor antennas however I got mixed results on each TV, most would get four to eight digital channels across one or two broadcasted channels.
After setting up this monster and using the already wired up coax that goes about the house every TV gets 92 channels. Of course the one channel I really wanted for wheel and jeopardy doesn't come in great so I'm going to have to play with the positioning.

Intredasting. Pretty much every channel I need is about 8 miles due west of me. How far off is the one channel you don't get? Do you have a preamp for that antenna?

The one I'm not getting is about 15 miles away, plenty close enough that I should get it. According to the map, other channels I do get are also right in that area. The antenna has a power supply that powers the preamp built into the antenna itself. Luckily it's also able to run passively if the power supply or preamp ever shit the bed.

grab a used HDhomerun to aim the antenna. Even old models are enough to do the job and I get a ton of channels with a smaller antenna and an amp

      I like wheel and jeopardy.

Do you get your internet from the cable company? In my area they are compensating for "cable cutters" by upping the internet charges.

It's an internet company that got into cable after buying up a floundering cable company.

I'm using their mast for my Televes since all of the broadcast towers are south of me so I only needed a single direction antenna. I thought about the Channel Master with the four squares however felt it wouldn't work as well in my situation. I've heard they are very good though. It's pretty much between the Channel Master and the Televes for the best antenna that I found during my research. Each serves a different purpose.

Televes looks to be more specialized equipment, the channel master stuff should be good for 99% of residential installations i think.
