Counter arty

It seams like the famed artillery advantage of the russians is vanishing. Did ukies save up the shells for so long or do russians not engage in counter artillery stuff?
Are they starting the counter offensive in zappo?

The lancets have limitations too. True counter-battery with 152MM destroys a target. This is a recently posted video showing the damage from a Lancet strike. Limited.

No tubed artillery piece in russian arsenal can compete with an Excalibur fired from a L55 155m. This was a big point of discussion a year ago, it just took a long time to come into effect

The 155mm tubes are still basically managed as a strategic asset. The word is at this point, most arty fire around the front is just 82mm and 120mm mortar exchange

No offence but the F-16 is going to be the early blocks (not 70/72) and is not going to be in significant numbers. If F-16's were given in the multiple hundreds, with all the repair, supplies and weapons needed to run them AND they were the more modern blocks like the 70/72... then it MIGHT change the situation. Might. But it would require a lot of SEAD and it would still result in scores of shoot downs. Russia specifically specced into AA systems because it realised it couldn't match the aircraft systems of NATO so you just shoot them down.

            So, there we go.

Block 50 would be good enough to have a significant effect if provided with the right training and ammunition.
But yes, even they will suffer attrition against Mig-31s.

haven't seen much evidence of this. they do saturation counter battery with rockets, or did, but that has limited range and paints a target on their backs. other than that it's just lancet. they used to have krasnopol but no evidence of that at work for months now

That's changed recently anon, there's been plenty of videos of UAV or straight artillery strikes on Russian artillery pieces.

Once-A-Fricking-Gain, Patriot does not have ICBM intercept capability. Do not confuse a piece of shit bog-standard TBM relabelled as a "Hypersonic Missile" with a low RCS RV spitting out decoys coming in at 5-7 km/s. It's an extremely difficult task and currently only THAAD has a theoretical ability to intercept one.

nah, you losers "refrained" from nuking Kiev because you have no functional nukes. The onlyy ones you potentially had were the ones you almost lost by dumping them near the front line so you could maybe use them.
Even if you gays could use them, patriots would shoot them down because your launch systems, personel and intel are that piss poor.

        Anonymous

Patriot probably could get lucky and hit an RV sometimes, but it’d be much shittier than THAAD (which is the last oh-shit-oh-frick layer of AD). Also it would be extra hard if it wasn’t cueing from another stronger radar.

RuAF has done nothing except humiliate itself and lose for over a year now.

foolish westerner doesn't realize the brilliance of the Russian strategy: by using T-55s it is simply no longer economical to waste such largesse as a counterbattery strike against such cheap targets

Oh, if they were smart enough (And Ukies are) to hit exactly at the bridge part, that is not so easy to "quickly repair".

It's one thing to repair a rail track that has been bombed. It is entirely different to repair a railroad bridge.
That strike would have completely severed the ability to provide supply, maintenance, ammunition and food from the direction of Kerch Bridge to Melitopol.
If we are going to see similar strikes on railways on Melitopol-Tokmak-Chernihivka-Mariupol axis, that would leave that part of the front line pretty much without any heavy reinforcement or supply.

The russians might still try to bring in supplies to Melitopol-Mariupol axis on trucks, that that is nowhere near to be enough, if the Ukies are going to push to that direction.

The Ukrainians daily post their claimed kills of Russian equipment and personal. While yesterday was a huge day in terms of claimed destroyed equipment, for the past month Ukrainian claims on artillery have been very high, 563 artillery guns and 33 MRLS's in the last 30 days.
This is a massive spike compared to the norm which was like 0-10 pieces a day, even if you don't believe the numbers are 100% accurate it shows a shift in priorities. Russian armor kills are also down so my theory is that Russia is using less armor and I heard that artillery has been the number one anti armor weapon in the war, so maybe Ukraine is switching focus to Russian artillery.

It's fitting poetic justice. By trying to genocide poor Ukraine, the Russians transformed Ukrainians into the people who will slay them instead.

Think Apache/Comanche. Apache bullied the Comanche, but when new tech found its way into Comanche hands (horses), the Comanche hit back.
