You must use water to remove the corrosive salts, that's why piss works. Then use your favorite normal gun cleaner after that.

There are some autists that wash the barrel out with water and all that shit, but there really is no need. Unless you have a Yugo... then I'd consider it.
I'll run a patch down the barrel & gas tube, usually I take my bolt apart because it ends up all black and gooey and I don't like that. It really depends on the weather and how much you're shooting obviously if you shoot a shit ton more cleaning is required and if you get rained & snowed on it will accelerate the corrosion so it might require more cleaning. My type 81 I can get away with a quick spritz of ballistol right after shooting and not even have to clean it. Phosphorous coated btw.

As long as it's not gunked up, it's fine. But I can understand the sentiment.
Hot water, rinse well. Dry, then lube.
Hot water with detergent down the barrel.
Follow with a dry patch to soak up the remaining water and wipe off the rest of the dissolved salts.
Then clean as you normally would with gun oil.

Pull off gas tube clean it and the piston.
Have never had a rust, doing that with my Nam bring back plus I like the smell of Hopps.
Then you can piss down the barrel if you like.

A thorough hot water rinse is all you need. The corrosive salts dissolve and are washed away. Of course, follow up with gun cleaner and/or oil.
The only 7.62x45 ammo I could find for my VZ52 is corrosive. I bring Windex to the range and spray down the barrel after it cools down. Heard water works as well. Don't wait for days to water the gun down. Once home, the rifle gets cleaned with Hoppes 9 because Barristol sticks up the house and annoys the gf and furry battlebuddies.

Just wiping down the barrel, bolt and gas stuff with wd40/oil works fine. I used to wash it after every shoot but that was causing more harm than good with water stuck in little crevices. It's been a year since I last shot and wiped mine down and there's no signs of rust. It probably helps that canada is a dry as fuck country.
The gun was basically pig iron before I got it anyways from being poorly maintained for 50 years, the chamber looks like the surface of the moon.
