I own three handguns: .38 for CC, a 9mm for the range, and a .22 revolver for shooting random objects at my cousin's ranch. The issue with restrictions on firearms is that they're generally passed in bad faith, and the slippery slope is real. Today it's a CCW permit, tomorrow it's a registry, the day after that it's confiscation. You have to sabotage them at every step, defense in depth. Their ultimate goal is confiscation of all useful firearms (pistols, ARs, etc.)
People also overrate the competency of the average gun owner. A lot of CCW permit holders are unsafe.

I own three handguns: .38 for CC, a 9mm for the range, and a .22 revolver for shooting random objects at my cousin's ranch. I also want to admit I will never actually CC the .38 because I went hunting a few years back with my cousin, shot a deer, and felt a wave of guilt for killing a creature. We had to follow a blood trail for a while because I was a poor shot with his remington .30-06 and missed anything vital. When we eventually found it we both just watched it struggle to breath for a minute before it finally died and it's made me terrified to hurt anything else. I like shooting guns because I think they're neat and it's a hobby every dude in my family likes, but I will never point my guns at something living. Everytime I read a news story about people getting shot and dying I'm brought right back to the deer in its death throes and it depresses the frick out of me.

The issue with restrictions on firearms is that they're generally passed in bad faith, and the slippery slope is real. Today it's a CCW permit, tomorrow it's a registry, the day after that it's confiscation. You have to sabotage them at every step, defense in depth. Their ultimate goal is confiscation of all useful firearms (pistols, ARs, etc.)
People also overrate the competency of the average gun owner. A lot of CCW permit holders are unsafe.

Just take care of it and be sure to clean the firing pin glory hole with a toothpick, its a decent sized hole right below the cartridge indicator so lint just rolls up in there with regular carry.
