>you're fricked and need a job and a place to live asap >you're fresh out of high school and want a chance to slide into a decent career >you have a very specific goal like getting into SOF >you live in the DMV area and want to get into glowBlack person shit asap through the reserves or guard
enlist >you have a college degree >you have a degree and a career but want to switch career tracks >you want to network and get management experience and maybe get a graduate degree paid for
commission >you want to "see combat" >you want to Become A Man >you want to experience camaraderie and find fire-forged friends or some shit
play call of duty
>you want to experience camaraderie and find fire-forged friends or some shit
Yeah, you may be exaggerating, but some of the best friends I have i met while enlisted.
Sure, it happens, but enlisting with that as an expectation sets people up for disappointment. You might meet people like that but you might also spend your contract with various acquaintances who are only hanging out with you because they have no one else to hang out with.
The enlisted seething about officers and saying enlisted are more manly etc is just cope. If you want a real career in the military, become an officer. Money talks.
Being a grunt is fun and hard work. Some people just like it, just like some people prefer working an office job.
Infantry officers also exist so I may be misunderstanding your question.
He is correct. Second class citizens.
The officers eat separately from the crew, which boggles the fricking mind.
Nothing against grunts, but why the frick would you do that if you had the option of being an officer?
It’s the only way you get to that job, anon. That’s the only place you’re gonna get to do that. Some guys really want to do that shit, and why not? It’s a badass thing.
Why the FRICK would you enlist if you have any choice in the matter? I say this as former enlisted.
>Get told what to do for the rest of your life by some brat barely out of school and your eventual job as a SNCO is to avoid him getting everyone killed >Slow career progression and worse pay >Worse conditions, literally back of the bus-tier >Doesn't build any background or connections for your post-military career
Do you have to go to Annapolis for commission these days?
How is life as a deck ape if you go enlisted?
Either route will have you swimming in b***hes right?
I will become a pirate instead
shiver me timbers matey
You are posting on a German fungi hobbyist forum, so I think enlisting is your only option
>yo new guy! Join my crew or else!
>you would be wise to join my crew.
>Commission
Just learn to draw yourself. Then you can commission other people.

>The enlisted seething
shut up sir and go back in your office to make more rosters
Both. Enlist then comission. Become a fricking mustang. Transcend all the bullshit.
Until you want to make it past O-4.Officer bs kicks in and they start hating on the former enlisted guy. Unless you commission in the reserves/ NG
Correct. It’s amazing how much worse officers get the higher you go. They start selecting for absolute reptiles at O-6, and to a lesser extent O-5

Tanks are cool
Yeah, but planes are cooler, and they dont let E-gays fly them

Kek, ive met grunts who held masters degrees in Math or come from rich families, some people just want to kill things and blow stuff up.
In the navy? Commission, Navy treats their lower Es like dogshit.

The crew needs a place to shittalk the officers, and the officers need a place to shittalk the crew.
I don't see a problem here.
Well both are gay in the navy. Commission if you want to be paid more, but you will have to pay for all uniforms.
>airline pilot or baby
Enlist as a SEAL is the only option here, wear the baby outfit with pride
Not OP but could someone pls answer this similar question?

Research Navy suicides before seeing a recruiter.
Are they the highest of all branches?
