Wacaco nanopresso. It's fiddly, buy I enjoy the ritual. It produces a really good crema and hits the spot when you're off the beaten track. A small slice of luxury before hitting the road and prospecting for the day.
>The most PrepHole and correct way is to boil it on open fire
True and based. Unfortunately on longer trips I have no choice other than to make instant "coffee" in order to save weight. Get's the job done though, all things taste better outdoors when you've been walking around for a week or longer
The real trick is settling the grounds. Get water boiling in a pot. Throw in your grounds and let it go for 3 minutes or so, then take it off the heat and pour a little bit of cold water into the pot (somewhere around half a cup, it isn't science), but pour it from about waist height. It'll help cool the coffee a little bit, and it'll settle the grounds to the bottom of the pot. It works better than you'd expect and it makes a good cup of coffee.
You just boil the grounds and after a minute or two they settle to the bottom and you pour it off. I have to baka when i realize that 99.9999% of people who drink coffee don't even know you can do this and make cowboy coffee that is alot stronger instead of wasting a ton of it in a stupid plastic machine. Even those gay french presses are moronic. All you have to do is boil water, add a tablespoon of cofee and let it boil for a few minutes. Coffee drinkers by and large are morons. LMAO
I'm far too lazy to make an effort for coffee while PrepHole.
Instant with powder creamer is fine.
At home I'm a snobby homosexual and insist on freshly ground beans and such though.
I normally take the time innawoods to decaffeinate and just drink tea and during the fall I make tea out of herbs I pick in the woods. My friends however make their coffee cowboy style.
I literally wrote that I use instantcoffee.
Anyway, dont buy some overpriced nestlé shit. Go to your local Asia Shop and get picrel, vietbros have mastered Instantcoffee. Maybe get your stomach used to it a bit as it will make you shit within 2 minutes after consumption.

Yeah I love an instant coffee while PrepHole it's easy and actually pretty good with when you pre mix the milk powder and coffee first. Makes a great cold coffee on a hot day too.
1 heaping spoon of coffee per cup so lets say:
12 cups water
boil
12 spoons coffee
take off heat but simmer for 8 minutes
when done splash a little cold water in pot
grounds fly to bottom
science
Moccona instant with powdered or UHT milk.
But I carry fresh steak and vacuum packed bacon for the first few days, I’m not a complete heathen.
Moccona is adequate.
I expect to run out of milk products after a few days so have tea and sugar. Dilmah for breakfast, Twinings Earl Gray for later.
I don’t know why. I just like it that way.
Please help me PrepHole
I love the smell of coffee. However, if i drink black coffee, it immediately comes back up. I cannot even force myself to drink coffee if it is in any way bitter. I will vomit if i try. What is wrong with me? I drink a lot of asian "canned coffee" like ucc and peo po. Its not bitter. I want to make coffee that i can drink without puking.
I do eat a lot of coffee things. Coffee ice cream, coffee hard candies, even chocolate covered coffee beans. I love the smell and taste of non bitter coffee. Its just the fresh made coffee that i make or buy makes me immediately throw it back up.
Roast, grind and brew your own fresh coffee from green coffee beans. If done correctly and with care, it will be bold, but not bitter.
I have not tried roasting and grinding my own beans yet. Perhaps thats what i am doing wrong. Anything that i make or buy is just impossible for me to drink.
Depends if there is a water source nearby or how much water I bring. If I have water nearby or brought enough water, I like my GSI backpacking pour over. Clips directly to my cup, easy to use, and easy to clean.
If I don't want to use water or have none nearby, I like chocolate covered coffee beans. They're much better in the winter since the chocolate doesn't melt, if it's summertime, I'll just go without coffee or bring some coffee beans to eat if I'm desperate.
Coffee bags cause lazy
>Coffee bags
on short hikes
for more than 2 days picrel
Aeropress, pan to boil water
Interesting, how many cups can you make in one "press", just one from the look of it.
I have one and they're huge to carry around. No thanks.
I soak grounds in a mason jar of water overnight and drink it grounds and all.
This anon is spun out on caffeine.
>also the most efficient way to do it
starbucks instant coffee. I hate Starbucks but their instant is by far the best.
French press

The most PrepHole and correct way is to boil it on open fire, gas stove is acceptable.

but can you mess it up ?
Use enough coffee and don't boil it too long. Try not to drop the pot.

whatever instant coffee I can find. Dad and I bought a glass jar of it for a week trip that worked well.
although anymore I can barely drink coffee. hurts my GI tract. but I also have dormant UC so I'm sure that's part of it.

That IS pretty gay. The only person I know who does that is my girlfriends hipster vegan sister.
I just use my Hario pour over, same one as I use at home. Packs light and the filters burn.
I have one of those reusable filters. Fricking love them. Otherwise, Cowboy coffee style
Shut the frick up man. Why does some dickhead always have to try create discourse on this board. Over freaking coffee.
Don't respond to trolls.
Because its bait

I don't. I only have coffee when I need to work after a bad night.

I have a steel Moka pot and a jetboil. Does a groups worth of decent coffee quickly and clearly. It's a little heavy, but a luxury worth the weight.

Start by eating things made with coffee. Candies, tiramisus, ice cream, etc.

I got this titanium french press and i use it for coffee and boiling water for my Mountain House meals. Its pretty sweet.
Fair enough, that's what you like and that's ok. Thanks for sharing, anon 🙂
