This only makes sense if you’re a native american but you sound black or like someone larping as being black. Still, whites should actually strongly agree with this argument because it implies that Europe is our permanent, real homeland, and that immigration doesn’t make one native
This was a marketing decision. You can't play one side or the other in a movie like this, you'll divide the audience. It's a smart business decision, but in reality, yes, it's moronic
They're tryibg to avoid making it about Left Vs Right. do you have any idea the kind of backlash A24 would get if they made it about current political/social divides? A24 already said they're going to move away from Althouse films because they need to start making more money, so clearly they're not about to jump feet first into the middle of the left vs right with something as insane as a movie about one side or the other being bad guys in a civil war. it's going to be pure fantasy.
if you believe the president is NOT going to be a hard right winger in the movie then you need a reality check
what would the threat of a left wing president even be? are states gonna secede because of higher taxes for healthcare and school meals? lmao
>secede because of higher taxes for healthcare and school meals? lmao
This is what leftists believe democrats want. >Terminate freedom of speech, right to keep and bear arms, unlawful search and seizure, and national sovereignty, in favor of a totalitarian global conglomerate.
This is what democrats actually want.
I think it's still pretty obvious who the "bad" guys are going to be based just on the map, let alone the trailer. As far as the states you'd expect to have seceded, it could simply be that the government has retaken them by the time the movie begins, not necessarily when the war does.
This. Everyone knows there will be two sides, both believing they are the supreme good and that the other is supreme evil. Historically, it's the way it always goes, but they're not going to come out and say it because they're trying to subtly walk back the woke shit a bit so that it's subtle and not immediately noticeable. Any hard core noticers like us will just be written off as conspiratards.
So we’re supposed to believe that:
1) the divide in today's America is “by State” and not by cultural (religious, ethnic, ideological) affiliation;
2) Washington and Oregon would join an alliance with states like Idaho, Utah and the Dakotas rather than teaming up with California;
3) Kentucky, West Virginia, Kansas, Nebraska and South Carolina would remain loyal to DC instead of either joining Texas or the South?
How could you storm a city where they have infinite locations to hide and fire from. You'd get slaughtered. Civilians fortified in a city could take a small army. That's why anti-gun cucks are moronic. Civilians CAN take on the army on American soil because they aren't going to bomb US cities to rubble.
Rural America wouldn't have to storm any cities, they'd just starve them out by not sending food there.

no place in the US is entirely food sufficient, the country is designed on the principle that goods and people can move freely where they're needed
the larp about withholding cornfields from urbanites only works if you ignore the fact that the city folk still control the water mains/ fertilizer and pesticide plants / transportation hubs.
there would be mass starvation on all sides

Farms use well water, even big ones. >fertilizer and pesticide plants
Not actually necessary for growing food at scale, just look at the Amish. >transportation hubs
That only matters for the cities. In rural areas it would not be difficult to find truckers with their own semitrucks to come pick shit up and deliver it to rural towns without needing to go into any big city. Not to mention everyone has a car and if they really needed to could drive out to the farms to buy food directly.

Problem? Why do you think cities are required to truck food from a farm to a rural town? They don't have to use the interstate and they don't have to use some city-based distribution center. Smaller farms already deliver food into town or allow direct customer pick-up on-site, the bigger farms could just hire out independent truckers to transport their larger loads to local grocery stores.

where are you going to get diesel dumbass? even if every hick setup one of these syrian oil refineries in their backyards they still wouldn't be able to supply enough diesel to run all the trucks. guess who's still going to own all the large oil refineries?
you dont storm it. you lay seige. even if they manage to resupply it would take all of their manpower to distribute food to millions of moronic browns and helpless elderly.
In a civil war, the power tends to fricking go out. It would be out within a month. The EXACT FRICKING MOMENT the power goes out in any major city, you get a micro civil/race war. Cities would literally genocide themselves as soon as they lose power fricking TEMPORARILY
California and Florida are two separate nations who are allied for the purposes of the war. The western forces and florida alliance are separate confederacies who are also loosely allied with California and Florida. In practice, it's a 5-way war of secession with four of the participants allied against the loyalists
So we’re supposed to believe that:
1) the divide in today's America is “by State” and not by cultural (religious, ethnic, ideological) affiliation;
2) Washington and Oregon would join an alliance with states like Idaho, Utah and the Dakotas rather than teaming up with California;

I dunno anons.
The model seems to be Balkanization, which was often a free-for-all but also had a very strong undercurrent of the Croats, Bosnians, Albanians, Macedonians and Slovenians all agreeing that the Serbs were the real evil
you completely missed the point. California doesnt have the cultural unity to fight a war over secession. all the rural counties would help the enemy take the coastal gay cities.

Washington, Oregon and Northern Cali have much more in common culturally than central and southern cali.
Along what lines? With what infrastructure and what institutional support? What are sides, what are their goals, who determines those things?
There were literal terror bombing campaigns in this country in the 60s. Hundreds of people died, congress was bombed, a president was killed. But it didn't result in a civil war. Read about our actual, real Civil War that happened in real life. It took decades of animosity, regional anger, policy conflicts and a miniature civil war in Kansas and multiple terror raids like John Brown's before a real war could start. We have nothing like that. not even a shadow of those hostilities.
People arguing on the internet and breaking windows is not the runup to a civil war.
>It took decades of animosity, regional anger, policy conflicts
Yeah, we have all this. You sound like one of those myopic millennials who pretend that the "culture war" began out of nowhere in 2014. Anon, the US is the largest wheat, dairy, beef, chicken, and potato producers in the Western Hemisphere, and that's with our stockpiling and exporting. WHO CAME UP WITH THIS MAP AND HAVE THEY EVER *BEEN* TO THE US!?
They ARE allies, even if Germany/Japan tier allies of convenience
They both want to secede and they both want Washington DC rekt so they're on the same side, presumably with the goal that they'd each get favorable independence terms after forcing the capital to acquiesce
This is ironically similar to the original American revolution where Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts etc. all agreed to fight Britain but were in no way certain they'd be one country themselves afterwards (and for a while functionally weren't)
>ruralites really think that food production in real life functions the same way as farms in Age of Empires >ruralites think that there's a constant trickle of grain that all the based conservative farmers graciously allow to go into cities where it's immediately gobbled up
There are many reasons to hate cities but you guys need to figure out basic infrastructure before you declare war on urbanites.

California has more registered Republicans than Texas.
Texas has more registered Democrats then New York.
Once you realize your narrow worldview of "but muh liberal Commiefornia; but muh conservative Texas Rangers" you realize that Cali and Texas have more in common than not.
Two largest states by population. 2nd and 3rd largest states by land. Texas produces 40% of the US oil. California produces 40% of the US vegetable by acreage (and up to 60% of rice).
Both border Mexico, both are major port states.
West Texas is defensible with the Rockies/Guadalupe Mtns, West Texas plains by said mtns are also where most of the oil wells are.
Florida Alliance's ability to cross the Texan desert unnoticed would be difficult especially since only Oklahoma has experience with that type of land. Arkansas, Louisiana, and the others aren't accustomed to desert. Florida Alliance might even be sympathetic toward Texas in this timeline-- hard to know.
What we do know is that the Cali/Texas partner is greatly disliked by the Loyalists.
Arizona/New Mexico/Nevada are the biggest blockades but also the hardest to defend-- it's just desert and unforgiving terrain between Cali and Texas.
Cali and Texas are filled with people accustomed to traveling, defending, and crossing desert and unforgiving terrain so AZ/NM/NV are kinda coin flips for good defense between Cali/Texas partners.
Plus AZ/NM/NV would rely more on electricity for their farms/water, and the lack of food/water/power would be an easily corruptible part of the blockade for Cali/Texas to manipulate.
Cali's weakest point is its large border with Nevada and the placement of the Western forces; most of those states are accustomed to mountainous terrain so pushing into California would be slow but not difficult. Cali would almost certainly rely on its advantageous ocean access.
I'd imagine the Western Forces would mostly coalesce around Lake Tahoe, Lake Mead, Lake Mojave.
California has a lot of internal rivers and aquifers but it doesn't have a lot of direct lake access. California would mostly be able those lakes, or developing large desalination plants and trying to tech-jump that way.
But California has strong defensible position. Ocean border is massive if they develop a strong naval presence; the valleys are against said ocean. Holding the mountains would be easy, but defending the lakes which are mostly on Nevada's border would be fricking miserable.
Texas could easily lose a lot of its land quickly; in a way the Loyalists could take over swathes of Texan oil fields and natural gas. So Texas would rely heavily on its Western side and forging a pass to California-- which means again the Arizona/New Mexico/Nevada corridor would be a massive two-front heavy focus. I'd imagine almost 80% of the war would take place there outside shock-and-awe tactics in spiritual or political areas like DC, NYC, Atlanta, Miami, military bases, etc.,
Honestly the two biggest economies deciding "frick it we ball" together only seems moronic if you're some politics-is-sports smoothbrain. Newsom would be more likely to try it out-- somebody like Abbot is too moronic and crippled to understand a pact so it'd have to be somebody stronger and more pragmatic, but the souls of Californians and Texans are closer than they're apart-- and not in some horseshoe theory horseshit. I mean speaking as an American those two states have way more in common. This is kind of a fun thought experiment and way more nuanced than most discussions so far have given it credit.

It also makes a lot sense of it’s a war over water. Water is tight in the near future and California and Texas decide to seize control of the Colorado River basin and let the other states hang. That would also explain why Nevada and New Mexico don’t want to join them, they depend on the Federal Government to secure their water rights.
>They will also be preyed upon immediately by feral Black folk
This is the best part. Imagine Chicago with no police and no food. It would be worse than any zombie apocalypse show/movie.
People who think the next civil war would be Republicans vs Democrats or that it would start over a president being unpopular are pretty fricking moronic, I have to say. This shit makes 0 sense.
all of Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico would be Californian clay
the Dakotas and Montana would not be able to raise an army since nobody lives there
Oklahoma belongs to texas
Minnesota belongs to Illinois (Chicago)
Missouri should be a relatively state, St. Louis being the dividing line between eastern/western sentiments
idk where Colorado and Kansas belong so they’re ok
the south is ok other than not including Kentucky
This always bugs me too. Real boundaries would be redrawn rather quickly in a major conflict. People in eastern Oregon wouldn't be supporting the Feds/Portland.

No they wouldn't. Why do people think Florida is so le fricking based and hsrdcore? Its a strip of swamp with a bunch of fat old farts lounging around and liberal arts college students working at Disneyland. Cut off their supply of gin and tonic, golf balls, pyrotechnics and candy floss and their economy would collapse in a week.
>entire state of coastal land and ports >21 military bases >every third citizen is carrying a concealed handgun
Maybe not a global superpower, but you’re kidding yourself if you think Florida wouldn’t be a major player in some kind of civil conflict
state of coastal land and ports >>21 military bases
third citizen is carrying a concealed handgun
Okay, let's not pretend civilian small arms even matter - what makes you think Florida would even have the manpower to mobalise? What makes you think people would even want to? The main economic producer in Florida is a fricking mickey mouse castle, and most of the people who live there would definitely have a thing or two to say about going hog wild. How the frick are you going to turn a tourist and retiree economy into a stable wartime economy?
You're also assuming, for some reason, that federal military bases that have personnel from all over the USA would for some reason throw their hat in with Florida? Also wouldn't the US navy wouldn't just blockade them and their shipping lanes fairly easily?
Do you think Florida would be able to take over federal installations with their limited state troopers and state guard? I don't think so, I don't even think most Americans know the state guard are a thing even kek
>they're not trying to play into a culture war power fantasy >le evil 3 term president so heinous California and Texas team up to stop his bigotry

Correct...because Senate represents States, not people. States are equal to each other as States, so they each get two Senators. For representation of people, there is the House of Representatives. The number of representatives from each state is decided by population, and more populous states have more representatives. Both The House of Representatives and the Senate are then combined to form Congress. You would know this if you had taken 8th grade social studies.

What exactly is the problem with that? What would you suggest as an alternative?
Why do all these civil war hypotheticals forget there is a armed force of gangs in every city who would probably start looting the moment their easy access to drugs and alcohol ended.
It’s all about conditioning: don’t leave the city pleb, there’s evil fat rednecks with long scary rifles waiting to kill you! Stay in our urban paradises.
Clinton initiated the introduction of more females in support units, Bush ignored it, and Obama finished it by opening up the entire force to females. The Obama administration also started the purge of the actual fighting men and leaders that didn't support his leftist agenda.
The combat troops still tend to lean towards conservatism, and support the representative republic we have. However, there are like 7 support troops for every actual combat troop, and the units are filled with women and minorities that would absolutely support a neo- socialist / communist government.
The U.S. military is legitimately garbage, and little more than an extension of a liberal arts college. If told to attack American citizens and / or violate their rights, they would absolutely do it, as most of them hold allegience solely to their paychecks.
>this state would never join this state!! This is so stupid!!! >NOOO WHY ARE YOU MAKING ALL THE REPUBLICAN STATES FIGHT THE DEMOCRACT STATES NOOOOOO
You homosexuals would complain about everything
People are kinda moronic when talking about a civil war, there isn’t any significant divide in the American elite and intelligence agencies + media + wall street would immediately side with the federal government (which realistically would be occupied by democrats). Chuds would have to hope that Russia/China sends them weapons and/or attempt to enforce a no fly zone over the chudland breakaway government. All the “we’ll starve them out” is pretty much just bluster because anyone that would want to secede from the US has no institutional power and the military is completely zogged out
Hamas literally isn't allowed to get any exports. Lebanon on the other hand...
I'm disappointed we haven't seen any custom uniforms in this. Western Forces don't want to be confused with US Army.
Unironically they would use Woodland BDU's while the military uses more modern camo patterns like Multicam and UCP left overs.
There would also be colored arm bands.
Based on the trailer, is the movie set in a retro timeline?
drone footage is heavy on both sides. all that anon was saying if they paid attention the last few years how modern wars are fought. its behind a playstation controller basically. imagine thinking you wasted years playing vidya and watching movies only to be a very viable asset in a modern war involving tons of tech tricikery
>can't shoot it with rifle because it's too close >can't smack it out of the air because that'll probably set off the explosive
Grenade Drones are legit terrifying.
>Use a small rock that you can throw at it to stagger it/try to hit the camera >Combat roll immediately out of the way behind a tree >180 quick scope the drone while behind cover
I'm just saying I wouldn't have ended up dead in that situation.

Kentucky is basically the most American part of America. It is like the essence of America. So while the rest of America may change into something that is no longer America, Kentucky almost by definition can only become more American. Does that make sense? It's like if you go to a Walmart in your town, it's a Walmart, but a Walmart in Kentucky will have people squirting shit out of their ass onto the floor leaving a trail, people jerking off in the aisles with dog toys, you name it, it's just a "dang gone good time." That's what it means. Sort of like how video related is typical Pennsyltucky behavior.

an upcoming civil war in America is nothing but fear porn, it’s not happening
there are no ideological differences in America worth fighting over other than abortion and the rights of the rainbow folk. just about every other “extreme” opinion is merely for aesthetic reasons, none of this political shit actually matters. if anything, we’re on our way to mutiny at mass scale over hyperinflation
What is the difference between "mutiny at mass scale" and "civil war" in your mind
Because I've had similar thoughts, there really isn't anything that strong tearing America apart these days compared to the 1860s (or 1960s) but in an unprecedented way there's also really nothing holding America together, for example I can't mentally conceptualize the person who would "take a bullet for Biden" and that was a common enough sentiment for basically every previous POTUS
a civil war would be multiple states engaging in warfare based on geographical lines, but ideological as well. in my head, a popular militia or political group would primarily operate out of one or two states while being aligned with similar militias in other states
“mass mutiny” would be more or less an Americanized version of the French revolution. riots, starvation, dragging bankers and financial wizards to the guillotines. both are unlikely, the second one was more possible until occupy Wall Street was co-opted
racial divide
this is the most unlikely reason of all
blacks are obviously the center point of race politics, and they’re completely conquered to be political pawns
there are no more ethnic whites left to fight each other either, most of you can tell a British guy from an Italian
the Hispanics and Mexicans in particular have La Raza, but they want to be white anyway, so it doesn’t matter long term. in 50 years most of them will be “white”
none of the other major ethnic groups have enough numbers to be relevant
you people are so fricking delusional. The turner diaries set will never get that isn't worth fighting over when the people allowing massive foreign waves into the country, are complicit, both sides, a unitarian movement to allow population replacement doesn't spark a civil war.
It never has, it can spark a breakdown, ala Rome but none of Romes famous civil wars happened over that, just competing power struggles.
We have nothing like that right now and no issue to legitimately circle around. When you have to search the weeds to fight over issues like culture war shit, it isn't enough. You need a present threat that feels like you will die tomorrow and that already happened during covid and nobody did shit. Everyone masked up and marched on with their lives. You almost had a fight over forced vaccines until they got enough people to go along with it and then dropped the fight.
Slavery was visceral because it had real people as mascots for the suffering they felt. Walking build boards to see what to fight for and fight against. We have nothing like that. You might eventually get a fight over taxes and corruption if we keep weakening as a country but we're nowhere near that yet.
I'm not saying we won't fall but it won't be a civil war, shit will just break down and most people will keep chugging on because they need to live. They're people that want one but minorities rarely get what they want.
also, the entire living arrangement in America is that liberals live within the major cities. conservatives live in most suburbs but they really outnumber liberals outside of major cities
and the deeper you go into the Midwest, the better the farmland. whatever side that gets Iowa basically condemns all the other states to starve to death
It actually looks kinda kino. No real red flags from the trailer and I liked Ex Machina. Might actually be the first movie I watch this decade.
The fact that Texas and California are on the same side is a green flag (avoiding contemporary political preaching) but also unrealistic.
Considering the little details we get that Offerman is entering his third term as POTUS and is shooting reporters and carpet bombing protestors, I think the point of the "California-Texas alliance" is that he's such a fricking butthole that they get past their differences and agree he's gotta go
Like how in The Hunger Games absolutely everyone in America, from farmhand Black folk to bunker-dwelling fascist larpers, was so over this c**t and his bullshit that by the end the only defenders he had left were a handful of his most indoctrinated homosexuals in his capital
Idk man I'm just amused that people are butthurt that there aren't any current day politics in a movie like this. This fricking world I swear >no escapism allowed
A few people who saw the screening said that it's more a rogue president kind of thing and they weren't even sure what party he's from as it wasn't mentioned so now redditors don't know what team to support lmao
Is it a testament to the stability and comfort Americans live in that they not only make up fairy tales about their own national collapse but also sell it to millions of other people for entertainment purposes?
DEVS was mediocre at times but the core concept was still very good and carried by some of the cast on their shoulders, but a lot of the faux drama turned me off. but i liked Annihilation and Ex Machina a lot, so i'm expecting a lot with this one. Trailers looks cool.
They're just copying shit from the last civil war. Back then the united states were actually a union of states so identifying with your state rather than the union was the norm. But that was 160 years ago, it's hardly the case today.
>Back then the united states were actually a union of states so identifying with your state rather than the union was the norm. But that was 160 years ago, it's hardly the case today.
It wasn't the case back then. This is the largest myth parroted by pseuds ever. You heard it in a video or read it in a plebbit post or something and took it as gospel.
So like... What's NATO doing during all this?
Like... Wouldn't Canada, the UK, France, Germany etc. all send troops to the USA? Also, what about all the nukes?
Personally I think that they would all be quaking in their boots hoping all the silos stay closed. >send troops
They don't have and can't raise enough troops to matter in a US Civil War. If only 10% of the US population participates that is 30+ million belligerent. I bet all the non-nuclear powers of the world start trying to court defense guarantees from China.
I still think they'd send forces personally.
I can definitely imagine the United Kingdom sending a small force to at least assist the US or alleviate their logistics by sending support forces. Royal Logistics Corps, Royal Signals regiments with EW capability (who, if I am aware, do actually get stationed in the US quite often), intelligence corps, and maybe rangers and paratroopers too for more combat oriented support. Sure they wouldn't be a significant force, but if every member of NATO did send support (which they undoubtedly would, NATO troop deployments and rotations are specially designed to make sure every member gets dragged in) it would be a significant boost to the US war effort, not to mention all the sanctions against the western forces. Honestly, a US civil war would probably escalate into a world war as I can imagine China, Russia, Iran etc all supporting whichever states succeeded

Oh my God, it's goyslop girl!
This only makes sense if you’re a native american but you sound black or like someone larping as being black. Still, whites should actually strongly agree with this argument because it implies that Europe is our permanent, real homeland, and that immigration doesn’t make one native
But whotes coming to America wasn't immigration. It was literally manifest destiny. Divine providence.

So who is on the other side of the civil war? The confederates?
the enemy is the federal govt like in any civil war once the regions realize their power they can make their own govt
This movie has the single most autistic and nonsensical civil war map ever put to fiction
A24 already said they're going to move away from Althouse films because they need to start making more money, so clearly they're not about to jump feet first into the middle of the left vs right with something as insane as a movie about one side or the other being bad guys in a civil war. it's going to be pure fantasy.
if you believe the president is NOT going to be a hard right winger in the movie then you need a reality check
what would the threat of a left wing president even be? are states gonna secede because of higher taxes for healthcare and school meals? lmao
>are states gonna secede because of higher taxes
Yes, you moron.
Maybe an open border, hyperinflation, rampant social decay, just Biden things.
>are states going to secede over taxes? Lmao
homie are you serious right now
Higher taxes is literally the reason the colonies reveled against the British Crown
No, it was taxation without representation.
>what is the Boston tea party?
moronic homosexuals like you shouldn’t be allowed access to the internet
>for healthcare and school meals
Lol, he believes that his politicians help the poor
>secede because of higher taxes for healthcare and school meals? lmao
This is what leftists believe democrats want.
>Terminate freedom of speech, right to keep and bear arms, unlawful search and seizure, and national sovereignty, in favor of a totalitarian global conglomerate.
This is what democrats actually want.
>your children belong to the state
>It's up to the kindergarten teacher to decide what gender your child is
Gee whiz
>A24 would make that movie
Completely delusional
movie?
I think it's still pretty obvious who the "bad" guys are going to be based just on the map, let alone the trailer. As far as the states you'd expect to have seceded, it could simply be that the government has retaken them by the time the movie begins, not necessarily when the war does.
>make a movie about a second civil war
>play it safe
what a bunch of homosexuals
Where did you get that?

Idaho would never join California no matter what.
So we’re supposed to believe that:
1) the divide in today's America is “by State” and not by cultural (religious, ethnic, ideological) affiliation;
2) Washington and Oregon would join an alliance with states like Idaho, Utah and the Dakotas rather than teaming up with California;
3) Kentucky, West Virginia, Kansas, Nebraska and South Carolina would remain loyal to DC instead of either joining Texas or the South?
I dunno anons.
the divide would be urban vs rural and the urbans wouldnt last a week.
Such a dumb cope
How could you storm a city where they have infinite locations to hide and fire from. You'd get slaughtered. Civilians fortified in a city could take a small army. That's why anti-gun cucks are moronic. Civilians CAN take on the army on American soil because they aren't going to bomb US cities to rubble.
They did in the trailer. Bravo A24, you based morons.
The movie looks moronic, but I'll still see it.
>zoomer roof koreans
OK I'm in.
Rural America wouldn't have to storm any cities, they'd just starve them out by not sending food there.
They could grow food. But yeah, not very sustainable for an entire city. They would get starved out, eventually.
imagine trying to grow and distribute food in a besieged city with even a mere 100k starving Black folk. theyd have a second civil war on their hands almost immediately.
>plant allies
It's hilarious that the leftists had these little gardens and not a single edible thing came from it. Completely illiterate children in the middle of nowhere can do better.
Reminds me of the alpaca troons that had their alpacas taken from them by animal services for inhumane treatment.
no place in the US is entirely food sufficient, the country is designed on the principle that goods and people can move freely where they're needed
the larp about withholding cornfields from urbanites only works if you ignore the fact that the city folk still control the water mains/ fertilizer and pesticide plants / transportation hubs.
there would be mass starvation on all sides
>the water mains
Farms use well water, even big ones.
>fertilizer and pesticide plants
Not actually necessary for growing food at scale, just look at the Amish.
>transportation hubs
That only matters for the cities. In rural areas it would not be difficult to find truckers with their own semitrucks to come pick shit up and deliver it to rural towns without needing to go into any big city. Not to mention everyone has a car and if they really needed to could drive out to the farms to buy food directly.
>That only matters for the cities. Problem? Why do you think cities are required to truck food from a farm to a rural town? They don't have to use the interstate and they don't have to use some city-based distribution center. Smaller farms already deliver food into town or allow direct customer pick-up on-site, the bigger farms could just hire out independent truckers to transport their larger loads to local grocery stores.
where are you going to get diesel dumbass? even if every hick setup one of these syrian oil refineries in their backyards they still wouldn't be able to supply enough diesel to run all the trucks. guess who's still going to own all the large oil refineries?
>t.
you dont storm it. you lay seige. even if they manage to resupply it would take all of their manpower to distribute food to millions of moronic browns and helpless elderly.
DUMBEST NIG COPE
In a civil war, the power tends to fricking go out. It would be out within a month. The EXACT FRICKING MOMENT the power goes out in any major city, you get a micro civil/race war. Cities would literally genocide themselves as soon as they lose power fricking TEMPORARILY
California and Florida are two separate nations who are allied for the purposes of the war. The western forces and florida alliance are separate confederacies who are also loosely allied with California and Florida. In practice, it's a 5-way war of secession with four of the participants allied against the loyalists
Shut the frick up, nerd.
I'm sure Los Angeles will tremble at the sight of Bakersfield militias (6 people)
Los Angeles will be too busy holding their Chinese Glock clones sideways shooting themselves to notice.
you dont need to invade LA to destroy LA. just block the roads and wreck the ports with arty. after a week they will surrender because 80% of the population are people who cant support themselves in normal times
name one rural town within 300 miles of LA that has access to artillery then, sperg
Any town in the vicinity once they get supplied by Edwards
mmmm who has artie i wonder. maybe its on a compound close by somewhere like in a base were people work
There are like 30 military bases in that range and over 90% of the military votes Republican. They vote Republican more than any other large voting block other than NRA members. Police are third.
>name one rural town within 300 miles of LA that has access to artillery then
Camp Pendleton
>noooooo the military will support the troony government!
uh, lol?
The states would have to take a side, as decided by their leaders. People who didn't share their state's views would flee to friendly states.
>2) Washington and Oregon would join an alliance with states like Idaho, Utah and the Dakotas rather than teaming up with California
Anon, Portland and Seattle wouldn't be calling the shots in this scenario
Washington, Oregon and Northern Cali have much more in common culturally than central and southern cali.
Right now there are no real geographic boundaries to fight a civil war over. We're one big homogenized slop of confusion.
There won't be another civil war, btw. It's the most moronic LARP floating around and if you indulge it then you're a fricking moron.
You realize there was very nearly a civil war three years ago and the same butthole will be back in November, right
Along what lines?
(I didn't mean to imply that Kennedy was killed in a bomb attack I just got home from work and am a little tired)
I didn't infer that <3
>It took decades of animosity, regional anger, policy conflicts
Yeah, we have all this. You sound like one of those myopic millennials who pretend that the "culture war" began out of nowhere in 2014. That being said we're still a long ways off, it's going to take a combination of widespread infrastructural and logistical failure brought on by economic collapse and shrinking numbers of blue collar professionals before That™ happens.
Compared to the 1850s and Bleeding Kansas, what we've had for the last 50 years is nothing.
It's not the 1800s anymore dumbass. Study the revolutions and civil wars of the 20th and 21st century.
>>It took decades of animosity, regional anger, policy conflicts
>Yeah, we have all this.
This.
>widespread infrastructural and logistical failure
I'd agree with you there too
There's a cynical statement people make "People will never start a civil war as long as the TV's on and the McDonald's is open"
And frankly I think those people are right but don't understand why they can't grasp a scenario where the TV is off and the McDonald's is closed
The whole COVID bullshit stretched the logistics chains just to where they began creaking.
What if something, say, twice as severe as that happened?
Doomsayers larp this shit the whole time. Germany was able to feed and clothe its people when its country was little more than a fricking bottleneck during WW2. I'm pretty sure the USA would be able to feed its people if shit really hit the fan, but could possibly happen? Super Ebola?
The problem is that all our supply chains are global. Nobody produces everything locally and due to how modern economics are all factories and producers operate without any stockpile. Once there's a hick up somewhere on the line it goes to shit like during covid. It'd take years to build the factories for domestic production.
You're insane if you think america couldn't mobilise its economy in that situation
And you're a fool if you think American still has the competency to do so
>Nobody produces everything locally and due to how modern economics are all factories and producers operate without any stockpile. Once there's a hick up somewhere on the line it goes to shit like during covid. It'd take years to build the factories for domestic production.
Anon, the US is the largest wheat, dairy, beef, chicken, and potato producers in the Western Hemisphere, and that's with our stockpiling and exporting. If by some divine intervention international supply chains get stopped totally for a long-term period, no one in burgerland's gonna be starving anytime soon.
>they can't grasp a scenario where the TV is off and the McDonald's is closed
but i did have breakfast this morning, what are you talking about?
Tucker Carlson is coming back??
no there wasn't you disingenuous homosexual. that was like 2 thousand larpers out of a nation of hundreds of millions of people.
suck my massive dick you dumb b***h
>same butthole will be back in November
Yes I've pretty much accepted Biden gets 8 years
ahh how cute Muricas first real
civil/culturle/race/concession war just take the U out of USA
>There won't be another civil war, btw.
It's already started.
>Texas and California are allies (???) but don't absorb any of Nevada, Oklahoma, Louisiana, etc?
>DC owns a swath all the way to Arizona
>Carolinas choose DC over Gulf Coast
>Utah, Washington, and Montana are all in the same coalition
>Alaska and Hawaii don't just tell the lower 48 to frick off and go it alone
WHO CAME UP WITH THIS MAP AND HAVE THEY EVER *BEEN* TO THE US!?
>WHO CAME UP WITH THIS MAP
An Englishman living in Los Angeles.
I don't take that to mean Texas and California are allies. They've just both seceded on their own.
I wonder if they're brave enough for an Articles of Confederation ending. That would be compelling.
realistic city gays v country boys would be too alarming for most of the audience
Most of the cities would be starved out and fall into complete chaos within a few weeks at most.
>ruralites really think that food production in real life functions the same way as farms in Age of Empires
>ruralites think that there's a constant trickle of grain that all the based conservative farmers graciously allow to go into cities where it's immediately gobbled up
There are many reasons to hate cities but you guys need to figure out basic infrastructure before you declare war on urbanites.
Western Forces bros its our time
Pretty funny that they don't have the map detailing front-lines, only states. It is HOI4 logic.
I agree on your last point, Californians and Texans are cut from the same sodomite cloth. Both states are only valuable for their natural resources.
It would make for an interesting Hearts of Iron style game, that's for sure.
Should I then assume that in this timeline basically most hispanics are deported and city Black folk are all in camps?
It also makes a lot sense of it’s a war over water. Water is tight in the near future and California and Texas decide to seize control of the Colorado River basin and let the other states hang. That would also explain why Nevada and New Mexico don’t want to join them, they depend on the Federal Government to secure their water rights.
Are you the autistic clown that wrote this movie? I appreciate the effortposting regardless tho
>south florida allience with north florida
Have you ever been to south florida? Its like a libertarian California.

This is the best part. Imagine Chicago with no police and no food. It would be worse than any zombie apocalypse show/movie.

New Hampshire even moreso, but the moronic Californians who write films like this don't have enough experience outside their bubble to know that.
Does New Hampshire have legalized gambling and prostitutes?
But... it makes sense though?
Florida is conservative but diverse.
Texas is conservative and mono-cultural.
They would never work together.
This is likely not the "starting point", just how things started looking after a few months and some conquering.
all of Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico would be Californian clay
the Dakotas and Montana would not be able to raise an army since nobody lives there
Oklahoma belongs to texas
Minnesota belongs to Illinois (Chicago)
Missouri should be a relatively state, St. Louis being the dividing line between eastern/western sentiments
idk where Colorado and Kansas belong so they’re ok
the south is ok other than not including Kentucky
>relatively neutral
Why would they break up neatly across state lines?
This always bugs me too. Real boundaries would be redrawn rather quickly in a major conflict. People in eastern Oregon wouldn't be supporting the Feds/Portland.
>Florida Alliance
Also no fricking way South Carolina stays loyal if Georgia doesn't.
Any post break up map of America that still adheres to current state lines is fricking moronic.
Eh, if it's the very begining?
>Texas not being part of the Florida alliance and becoming a thalassocracy called Florixas
Missed opportunity. Texas and Florida together with the states united between them would dick stomp the rest of the union
>Have you ever been to south florida? Its like a libertarian California.
No its fricking not homosexual. Miami went red for the first time in 20 years in the last election and its going to stay like that for awhile. Florida is now a red state instead of a swing state.
>t. Miami gay
lol @zero federal dollars for all the hurricanes. they would last one hurricane season tops
>Texas and Florida together with the states united between them would dick stomp the rest of the union
No they wouldn't. Why do people think Florida is so le fricking based and hsrdcore? Its a strip of swamp with a bunch of fat old farts lounging around and liberal arts college students working at Disneyland. Cut off their supply of gin and tonic, golf balls, pyrotechnics and candy floss and their economy would collapse in a week.
>entire state of coastal land and ports
>21 military bases
>every third citizen is carrying a concealed handgun
Maybe not a global superpower, but you’re kidding yourself if you think Florida wouldn’t be a major player in some kind of civil conflict
state of coastal land and ports
>>21 military bases
third citizen is carrying a concealed handgun
2018 was super closer the dems just nominated an ex gop chud for governor
Miami being red does not mean they are conservatives anon. They just hate wokegays.
From what I gather, they're not trying to play into a culture war power fantasy. Good.
>they're not trying to play into a culture war power fantasy
>le evil 3 term president so heinous California and Texas team up to stop his bigotry
God why are you homies so moronic
What bigotry?
There is no way Missouri stays loyal.
The ~4 largest cities are Democrat led Black person worshipping shit holes and everybody else hates people from those places.
It wouldnt piss me off as much if the just had CA annex AZ and NM
This. The desert states could never hope to resist CA+TX. They don't have enough population.
The entire state of Wyoming has a population of about 576,000...which is less than the city of El Paso TX.
and they have the same amount of senators as california and texas who have 40 and 30 million
You would know this if you had taken 8th grade social studies.
if you werent moronic you wouldnt support this but thanks for the history lesson
what are suggesting? That California should get more votes than Wyoming because it has more people? Guess what, it does in the House of Representatives. Wait..California shouldnt be able to over balance Wyoming just because it more people. Guess what, it cant in the Senate. This system allowed for both scenarios to be true at the same time. What exactly is the problem with that? What would you suggest as an alternative?

I'm aure it will show looting and such. Everyone doing it will be white, though.

>Texas allying with California
What the frick were they thinking?
I'm pretty sure most of the military people stationed there lean towards MAGA.
Not any more.
If told to attack American citizens and / or violate their rights, they would absolutely do it, as most of them hold allegience solely to their paychecks.
i just watched the trailer and he doesn't even say this
its in the extended redband trailer
kirsten shows off her naps and nick offerman says grab em by the pussy in it and everything
It was really jarring when nick offerman looked right at the camera and said "I'm literally donald trump"
It's from Edge of Tomorrow.
this looks incredibly mid for an A24 movie. i feel like I've seen this shit 100 times already
Try 'middling', or 'average' instead. Using 'mid' makes you sound like a moron
>this state would never join this state!! This is so stupid!!!
>NOOO WHY ARE YOU MAKING ALL THE REPUBLICAN STATES FIGHT THE DEMOCRACT STATES NOOOOOO
You homosexuals would complain about everything
Why are you chuds trying to force a general out of this latest A24 slop? You morons are like inadvertent reverse shills at this point...
All the “we’ll starve them out” is pretty much just bluster because anyone that would want to secede from the US has no institutional power and the military is completely zogged out
Fat Damon = KINO
I thought that guy died from aids after syndoche new york
nah he's fricking kirsten dunst.
I am jelly.
Based on the trailer, is the movie set in a retro timeline?
Hamas failed to do this, I think Americans could do better
Hamas literally isn't allowed to get any exports. Lebanon on the other hand...
Unironically they would use Woodland BDU's while the military uses more modern camo patterns like Multicam and UCP left overs.
There would also be colored arm bands.
show us your dog, nafo troony
drone footage is heavy on both sides. all that anon was saying if they paid attention the last few years how modern wars are fought. its behind a playstation controller basically. imagine thinking you wasted years playing vidya and watching movies only to be a very viable asset in a modern war involving tons of tech tricikery
>can't shoot it with rifle because it's too close
>can't smack it out of the air because that'll probably set off the explosive
Grenade Drones are legit terrifying.
>Use a small rock that you can throw at it to stagger it/try to hit the camera
>Combat roll immediately out of the way behind a tree
>180 quick scope the drone while behind cover
I'm just saying I wouldn't have ended up dead in that situation.
Do you have the one where they chased a guy around a tree several times?
this one? i have a drone theocracy folder but i try not to be gore-ish about it. i'm terrified by these new developments because next year every oligarchy will have its own drone swarm.
>lugging around fuel with a wooden cart
Is Russia even a modern nation?
I'm sure Raytheon's Tungsten QuipmentLugger 3000 put your tax dollars to good use.
Oshkosh makes our supply vehicles, actually.
everything you do comes from blackrock and vanguard, they just shift names around. look at the shareholders.
>I talked factually wrong bullshit but that doesn't count, cope
I love this form of "argument"
He's right, israelite. Blackrock, Aristotle, and Vanguard are the top three shareholders of Oshkosh, with 90% of their publicly traded stock. You made me look it up and find out the truth, thanks israelite.
New personality just dropped.
Look children, lazy propaganda
a fine companion piece with leave the world behind
Kentucky is basically the most American part of America. It is like the essence of America. So while the rest of America may change into something that is no longer America, Kentucky almost by definition can only become more American. Does that make sense? It's like if you go to a Walmart in your town, it's a Walmart, but a Walmart in Kentucky will have people squirting shit out of their ass onto the floor leaving a trail, people jerking off in the aisles with dog toys, you name it, it's just a "dang gone good time." That's what it means. Sort of like how video related is typical Pennsyltucky behavior.
If those anecdotes you are listing are true american values then America will unbecome America
What do they know of England, who only England know?
I meant America will never unbecome America
America will become like China if it collapses: an endless series of polities but all with the label "America".
Appalachia will never improve if they don't at least burn all the Walmarts down or seize them from the Walton's monopolizing general goods in places with a small market share
this is how you get giga aids also saved for PrepHole
>troony sniper
>califronia and texas on the same side
>zero Black folk
who could come up with fanfiction like this?
some bong with a superiority complex, naturally
>where my television Blacks
>only whites will fight and die in the civil war while Black folk and hispanics will huddle in ~~*refugee*~~ camps
The only way they could get away with making a movie like this today is portraying each side as an ideological contradictive amalgamation.
White Supremacist LGBT vs Multicultural, intersectional Boogaloo Bois
Nah. The twist is we NEVER overthrew the crown. The British still rule America.
my buddy l-nan is the american from ohio if yall know what i mean ;^(
well PrepHole, which side are you on??
look at all the brown people thinking they are the good guys, cute
I don't like either side.
>UK on both sides
nice touch
I side with Qui-Gin Jin. The best Gray Jedi.
i stand with sushi and anime
>gays vs trannies
>uk vs uk
for me, it's Team Marlboro
>Venezuela and Cuba on America's side
>South Korea, Poland, Israel, Vatican, UK and Ukraine-Nato? on China's side
that shit's beyond moronic
>no, sir. i'm from kentucky
What is this, the fricking 1800s?
>trailer shows early 2000s style troop movements and fighting reminiscent of Iraq War urban combat
>no drones and no WWI-esque trench warfare
>war reporters are just wondering around without an escort.
It's an A24 movie that probably had an 8 million dollar budget and a TV studio and a bit of DMV road test asphalt to film on, of course it's shit.
>It's an A24 movie that probably had an 8 million dollar budget
I'm reading $75 to $100 million, still less than "blockbusters" but by far the most expensive A24 feature
>>no drones and no WWI-esque trench warfare
That's only a thing in Ukraine because both Ukraine and Russia have dogshit air forces + every 5th soldier has a MANPADS.
shows early 2000s style troop movements and fighting reminiscent of Iraq War urban combat
Zoomer saying this like he knows WTF he is talking about
>people think this guy is a right wing chud character
kek
we dont say slurs here
It's just american autism in general
I am really glad that my adblocker broke just now
I would volunteer the first second possible if I could go to war with redneck morons in Texas and Florida. California would win easily
an upcoming civil war in America is nothing but fear porn, it’s not happening
there are no ideological differences in America worth fighting over other than abortion and the rights of the rainbow folk. just about every other “extreme” opinion is merely for aesthetic reasons, none of this political shit actually matters. if anything, we’re on our way to mutiny at mass scale over hyperinflation
“mass mutiny” would be more or less an Americanized version of the French revolution. riots, starvation, dragging bankers and financial wizards to the guillotines. both are unlikely, the second one was more possible until occupy Wall Street was co-opted
this is the most unlikely reason of all
blacks are obviously the center point of race politics, and they’re completely conquered to be political pawns
there are no more ethnic whites left to fight each other either, most of you can tell a British guy from an Italian
the Hispanics and Mexicans in particular have La Raza, but they want to be white anyway, so it doesn’t matter long term. in 50 years most of them will be “white”
none of the other major ethnic groups have enough numbers to be relevant
demographic and cultural replacement
racial divide
you people are so fricking delusional.
They're people that want one but minorities rarely get what they want.
billboards*
also, the entire living arrangement in America is that liberals live within the major cities. conservatives live in most suburbs but they really outnumber liberals outside of major cities
and the deeper you go into the Midwest, the better the farmland. whatever side that gets Iowa basically condemns all the other states to starve to death
Blow up the water tunnels to California and they're out of the game as well with their agriculture.
It actually looks kinda kino. No real red flags from the trailer and I liked Ex Machina. Might actually be the first movie I watch this decade.
The fact that Texas and California are on the same side is a green flag (avoiding contemporary political preaching) but also unrealistic.
>no blacks to be seen anywhere
Did they already kill them all off?
Based Tom gettin to work early
So uh... how exactly did Warlord Tom get the crime rate down?
Moon man magic
why warlords didn't appear during the American Civil War (the 1860 one)?
that screenshot is pure incel cope
Yes, it was done by all the Hispanic gangs.
Considering the little details we get that Offerman is entering his third term as POTUS and is shooting reporters and carpet bombing protestors, I think the point of the "California-Texas alliance" is that he's such a fricking butthole that they get past their differences and agree he's gotta go
Like how in The Hunger Games absolutely everyone in America, from farmhand Black folk to bunker-dwelling fascist larpers, was so over this c**t and his bullshit that by the end the only defenders he had left were a handful of his most indoctrinated homosexuals in his capital
pic didn't attach
The discussions are gonna be funny. American brains are already getting shattered on reddit
>wtf it's not le blue team vs le red team?!!!
Why would you take any movie seriously?
Idk man I'm just amused that people are butthurt that there aren't any current day politics in a movie like this. This fricking world I swear
>no escapism allowed
A few people who saw the screening said that it's more a rogue president kind of thing and they weren't even sure what party he's from as it wasn't mentioned so now redditors don't know what team to support lmao
Moves...
And countermoves
Is it a testament to the stability and comfort Americans live in that they not only make up fairy tales about their own national collapse but also sell it to millions of other people for entertainment purposes?
I'm disappointed we haven't seen any custom uniforms in this. Western Forces don't want to be confused with US Army.
Ukrainians and Russians solved their uniform similarities problem fairly well with just colored armbands.
Come on now. I think America can afford something with a little more razzle dazzle instead of a a bit of Slav-Tape
Older patterns, maybe?
Behold
>slavslop
>friend
In the US the only guys using slavshit are homies. They might be a little contrarian or hipster, but generally they're alright.
>colored armbands
did they not watch The Dirty Dozen?
DEVS was mediocre at times but the core concept was still very good and carried by some of the cast on their shoulders, but a lot of the faux drama turned me off. but i liked Annihilation and Ex Machina a lot, so i'm expecting a lot with this one. Trailers looks cool.
Kentucky is a part of America, and people from Kentucky are Americans.
I think it's just written to hate on people from Kentucky, weird.
The mass media also tries to divide the American people.
To keep the people weak, unable to hold the political elite accountable.
You can vote for the red senile zionist chomo, or the blue senile zionist chomo.
One sniffs and gropes little girls, the other was buds with Jeff Epstein.
But the zionists will win the election and send billions either way.
To blow up kids in Palestine while the nation falls apart.
This looks pretty good, except for the helicopter shooting a missile in the street.
the poster promo is moronic too lmao a sniper nest on the statue of liberty torch but im sure all the chuds will make it a 1 billie ride
>a civil war in the US
>not being a race war
huh
>No sir, I'm from Kentucky
Ohio would like a word.
/tv/iggers keep moving. This is a /k/ thread.
looks CRAP
what does florida do?
I love her, bros
kys
Did he really say that in this flick?
there is only a trailer and no he doesnt say that
What a shame.
So like... What's NATO doing during all this?
Like... Wouldn't Canada, the UK, France, Germany etc. all send troops to the USA? Also, what about all the nukes?
NATO is cheering on the destruction of the US, after all we've done for them.
Honestly, a US civil war would probably escalate into a world war as I can imagine China, Russia, Iran etc all supporting whichever states succeeded
a daring synthesis
His trigger discipline sucks.
I don’t care who wins the civil war as long as Seattle gets destroyed
