They arent terribly uncommon amongst doubles, however they are banned from cowboy action shooting, which is a fair part of why i want a double in the first place.

There are like 20 of those at Intersurplus alone, I've been waiting for a cheap one with no cracks. Not much use browsing gunpost or CGN since the ads never seem to specify if they're ejector or not. If they do they want crazy prices, which is dumb since they're a meme gun anyways.

Hypothetically speaking, if the feds did pass an ban on "assault weapons" (center-fire semi-autos with >5 detachable mags) and Thanos-snapped them all out of existence, what would your improvised tactical carbine be? For me it's

Obviously things would change as the domestic market adapted and produced new compliant semi-autos, but until then, we'd have to get creative

30-30. It's the closest thing to an intermediate caliber that you can get in a lever gun, so you balance capacity, power and recoil.

They always were viable, yeah a rail may allow for the mounting of different optics or a light, but things like a side saddle for holding cartridges isn’t really that new.

That said for a tacticool lever gun, that one isn’t bad compared to that mag fed 9mm monstrosity that recently came out.

And yeah, it is impressive. Your average Métis or Native had a Northwest Trade Gun, some did have lever action repeaters and breach loaders, a few had revolvers, but most were using muzzle loading percussion guns, I have even read about the odd flintlock being used. Eventually when they started running low on ammunition they loaded rocks and nails into their Muzzleloaders. One of the biographies I have read on Gabriel Dumont mentioned how he “captured” a revolver off of someone with a few dozen rounds and carried it with him & his Winchester when he trekked down to Montana after the battle of Batoche.

I think they have Louis Riel’s old Pinfire revolver in the museum at Batoche if I am not mistaken.

I unironically have enthusiasm and passion for some cope guns, like my Troy PAR, kek. It's weird and unusual, and I just love guns in general. I really only draw the line at straight-pull ARs, because they're not only cringe but they're useless. If you have to break your grip to cycle the action then there's no point using an AR layout, it's just suboptimal

          Anonymous

I'll agree that straightpull Ar's are a special kind of cope, otherwise ive only really heard to them being used to transport/use yourr favourite Ar into a restricted state.
However, a am quite interested by more normal bolt actions, being straightpulls, like why wouldnt you want to shoot faster.
Instead of Up>back>forward>down, to cycle a bolt, its just back>forward.
I believe them quite popular in europe, and although just .22lrs almost all biathlon rifles are straightpulls, as thats the best thing they can using within the ruleset.

            Anonymous

Yeah, straightpulls are just better than turnbolts generally, but they don't make any more sense in an AR configuration. If you're using it as a precision rifle, like a Ruger RPR, than fine, that works. But using a straight-pull AR as a replacement for a semi-auto is moronic. AR ergos are designed for rapid shooting, which is impossible if you have to charge the bolt every shot anyway. You might as well be using a Swiss K31.

Exactly, if a PM candidate were to announce they wanted to shut down immigration or even severely reduce it, all of the New Canadians who have voting rights would withhold their votes for that candidate due to family reunification and chain migration.

If there is one thing immigrants to Canada love, it’s bringing over their elderly parents and grandparents so they can provide free child care and receive gibs via old age security that they never actually paid into.

Nation states have a lifespan & If something kicks off in the US it will happen in Canada too.

Sort of like how the Covenanter war in Scotland was a byproduct of the English Civil War.

If you have read anything about generational theory you would know that crises emerge every 80 or so years, we are overdue for one.

Also Canada no longer has a singular national identity, there are too many different groups with different values, different cultural norms and different loyalties. A house divided will always fall, how unified is Canada as a country as far as the provinces go as of late? How unified are the people who claim Canada as their home as of late? Do they have a singular or at least similar enough culture to not see others as “the other”?

A Black Swan event is all that is needed to bring it to a state of conflict.

                Anonymous

I wouldn't argue against most of what you are laying out but I would argue that Canada doesn't have nearly enough rebellious and pugilistic of a culture to resort to civil war. Way more likely would be a peaceful decoupling or some other reforms to smooth over frayed nerves. I don't doubt we could live to see a fractured Canada, but it's much more in our nature to do so through policy.

The only way we would see civil ar is if we have another headstrong and stubborn trudeau type leader who would rather start cracking heads than talk something out if it hurt thier pride. Entirely possible I suppose but I feel like thier handlers would intervene sooner than that.

                Anonymous

A lot of old stock Canadians do not have that pugilistic mindset, but when the country is bringing in immigrants from Somalia, the Middle East or Khalistani separatists those cultures have a combative mindset. The descendants of Americans who settled the West still have that mindset to a degree.

One thing that has occurred repeatedly throughout history is that civility goes out the window when people are desperate or a crisis occurs.

Hmm you do make a good point, but when the term Canadian gets used to generalize third world heathens AND genuine Canadians I feel there must be a distinction. It's not even a dog whistle, it's an overt statement that Old Stock Canadians are ACTUAL Canadians, and anyone who wouldn't refer to themselves as such is clearly a shithole interloper here for the gibsmedat.

It is a difficult to determine what exactly is “old stock”

Are we talking Natives? They are definitely old stock. What about the descendants of Quebecois habitants? Or the descendants of Loyalists? The descendants of the Irish or Germans or Scandinavians who came in the 19th century? The Slavs or Chinese who came in the early 20th century? The people who were here before the world wars? Or the ones here before that monstrosity of a flag was introduced. It still needs to be determined before we use that term.

Some of my ancestors were in Canada before European contact, some were here in New France in the 1600’s, others were in Upper Canada in the late 1700’s, others came later in the 19th century, with the latest coming up from America and coming here from Russia before The Great War.

I might be “Old Stock”, but I really don’t consider myself a Canadian. I am a Westerner first and foremost I have no loyalty to Canada, Ottawa or the notion of being Canadian.

                Anonymous

I wouldn't count Natives because they don't like to be considered Canadian. They see their lineage as pre-dating "Canada" in any legal or historical sense.

I think in broad strokes the term Old Stock Canadian can be applied to mean anyone who traces their lineage to the pre-1960/70's immigration flood spurred on by the LPC from third world shitholes like India. That was a concerted effort to stock the country with generational voters and import their massive families, thus importing more liberal votes. Those people are hardly Canadian in spirit, only in a legal sense and for all the gibs.

Porn is fake and gay, but it does have a destructive effect on young men. Why is it given away for free?

One of the reasons I actually wish for a grid failure, it would force people out of their digitized haze and make them come to grips with reality.

I don't know, it was really surprising to me when I went to university after spending some time in the workforce how guys like 5 years younger than me would casually talk about porn & porn stars as if they were any other media & actors. Like, not just with their close friends, just in public in a classroom before a lecture started. Felt like a real generational gap.

                >as if they were any other media & actors
It's because of Twitter, Instagram, OnlyFans, Twitch, etc. Porn stars and ex-porn stars have gone heavily into social media because it's another effective avenue of self-promotion (as well as a way to pivot out of the industry), so they enter the mainstream.

This is my view also, I don't consider some Quebec Pepsi or Hongcouver money launderer or Torontoid Bennetton bugperson to be my countryman.

Because a NU PAL would be less likely to have nu-prohibs in their collection.

Sort of like how some Boomers may still own things like FAL’s or PPSH’s. I know a boomer who has a PPSH, used to sell Thompson SMG’s back in the day before they were b&.

            Anonymous

That's true but I don't think it would be the case if all semi-autos were b& like anon said. If anything I'd expect a higher % of nuPALs to have at least one "assault style" rifle by Mendecino's definition.

Which PM started that "family reunification" bs, I'm curious.

Apparently according to a summary Google search the policy existed for a long time, and first was implemented under Laurier(eastern Frog liberal wienersucker who hated the West) and in 1926 which would have been William Lyon Mackenzie King(another liberal wiener gobbler, “life long bachelor” which was early XXth century speak for gay) or Arthur Meighen who was PM very briefly due to Liberal Scandals. But of course this wouldn’t have been an issue until the immigration policies were changed in the Pearson years to bring in the detritus of the developing world into Canada.

        >Why can’t they just leave us alone frick?
        Because they fricking hate you.

Because the Liberals and Laurentian’s desire one thing above all else. Control.

Control over your life, control over your families life, control over your choices, control over your livelihood, control over your body, control over your finances, control over your safety. Complete control over your life and the lives of everyone you care about.

The only thing that will stop them is what has stopped tyrants and wannabe tyrants in the past. The English common law system that originated with the Magna Carta, the English Bill of Rights and eventually saw a renewal with the US Constitution were not the results of peaceful legislation and political debates. They were formed by the shedding of blood.

As a direct descendant of a man & martyr for freedom who lead an unsuccessful revolt against the Papist Queen Mary the sense of rebellion flows in my veins. When civil war is preferable to tyranny & when government continually make life for people worse and worse through their actions and legislation it is time to stop debating & start acting.

They will never leave us alone, and to think that if they ban more things they will leave us alone or if they ban everything they will leave us alone is foolish, because that would be when they scale up their infringements upon the sanctity of your lives.

To keep this /k/ommando related, what is the best type of weapon to use for ambushing adversaries who have body armour on par with the horse fricker ERT’s?

The bolts are fairly rough, but I do own one, and the accuracy is nuts, even with the Federal bulk ammo that they sell in literal plastic buckets. I would highly recommend you grab one if you want one. You'll get used to the bolt.

Ty, worked out well enough, the israelites have a really long mono rail, so it works as a scout, however i should move it slightly farther forward, due to eye relief issues, but it would look silly any farther forward, idk...

I imported it from the States through IRunGuns, it cost $1542.61 USD in 2020 for the gun + import, which is $2085.07 CAD today.

              >You've gotta prioritize functionality
It does function, i just cant really comfortably be in the 'proper' 'squared with your target' shooting stance, instead my shoulder with the stock must be farther back.

Would you rather have 357, 44, 30-30, or 45-70 for a tactilarp lever gun?

Nta, but .44mag is the best combination of capacity and power, 10rounds in most levergats, and can be as powerful as an intermediate rifle.
While other popular cartridges, like 45-70 and 30-30 are limited to just 4-6 capacity, due to their length.
And other like 357mag, and 45colt, have same/less power with the same capacity.
.44mag is best choice for people who respect maths.

I've been looking at Savage 110s as a base for a Scout-ish gun. They seem pretty nice. The Scout model is a little short for a .308 for my taste though, the 20" Hunter XP is what I'm leaning towards:
      https://www.cabelas.ca/product/158920/savage-110-hunter-xp-bolt-action-rifle-with-scope
Weirdly at my local Cabela's that exact gun was in stock but $270 higher sticker price than the online price.

Mainly because the country and the world are not the same as they were when full autos were b& in 1977

Breddy guud, and probably my favourite ?forestock? style for a pump, vry nice.
A bit long though i think, not sure what you use it for.
I wanted something short, as almost all my guns are bush guns. bushwhakin and bear defence.
Was tempted by picrel and similar, but it has a capacity of just 4, and as a pump, it just felt too little for bears.
So i was drawn to the darkside, i wanted to semiauto dump 10rounders with quick reload, the turkpup, to be fair when it works it is incredibly exhilarating, even more than a battle rifle, but yeah shame its frickin garbage....

The Benelli 14 can do 5+1 if you remove the magazine spring retainer. Still, I think it's a much better waterfowl gun than a defensive gun. Few and expensive accessories, none of the universal ones work, receiver not really shaped for those velcro shell cards, action is kinda slow.

Then the small wooden stock bolty is a savage mk 2. Simple.22. shoots good and is super accurate. Nothing more to say
Then we got my personal Browning AB3 in 30-06. Got a Cabela's stock wrap that is kind of a cheek riser for me. Really comfy gun to shoot, recoil isn't bad. Super accurate. Got a shitty Bushnell 3-9 scope on it but it's good enough for me. I can kinda use it in close range so there's that

All my local gunsmiths were fudds and didn't want to do it.

I ended up sending it to section 8 sports in Lethbridge. Call and ask Jesse.

Don't remember how much it cost but it was a lot cheaper than buying the proper annular cutters etc. to do it yourself.

Also beware that once you remove the grenade launcher, the barrel profile becomes much thinner, especially at the notch where you removed the retaining pin.

I ended up having them put the barrel sleeve back on after turning down the ribs on a lathe and trimming the end for a muzzle brake.

How expensive would it be to get the stupid grenade launcher thing off my Type 81 and thread the barrel?

Seconding, except i want to know what i need to thread barrels myself.

maybe we should all just chip in on an annular cutter and die kit and mail it to each other when we're done kek

I'm going to do the same thing Murray did, trim the barrel sleeve and then install the muzzle brake on the end. But I'm going to get the ribs removed on a lathe as well. So it'll look like pic related in the end, but with a muzzle brake.

In your dream you chop it to the point where the gas piston stopped worked? I have sometimes wondered how much of the barrel would need to remain for the pistons to still operate, for scientific reasons of course. Paratrooper SKS’s were only chopped down 4” to 16” if I am not mistaken.

Legalize and reschedule many illicit substances, add dental care to universal healthcare plan. Instead of $10 a day childcare, cut ALL foreign aid and create a Free childcare plan & give childcare jobs to young female Canadian students.

Also create something like the American Civilian Conservation Corps or the Third Reich’s RAD or Reichsarbeitsdienst to provide work experience, skills and economic upliftment to young Canadians, utilize this as one tier of a treatment program for Canadians with addictions to hard drugs, getting them out into nature doing things like fighting forest fires or constructing roads or bridges will not only help them, but help the country out.

Create a moratorium on hedge funds and investment banks buying real estate, establish a moratorium on non Citizens buying houses & real estate.

Rebuild the national gold reserves, we have more gold in the ground than we do in gold reserves.

I guess the gay ass compromise law would be better would look like this
      >pal and Rpal system stay in place
      >handguns and SBRS while still Rpal are now allowed to be used innawoods
      >rifles like the AR-15 are moved into NR class
      >18.5 inch requirement dropped to 16 inches
      >no gay ass bans on guns Like AKs or Fals everything is NR
      >mag limits dropped if opposition doesn’t accept this then have full 30 mags treated as an Rpal item and only allowed at the range. Pinned mags are still good for innawoods
      >no registry for NR guns
      >like the Saskatchewan firearms act I would have an act in Canada that promotes firearm use in Canada by setting up more classes and ads on tv
      >create a concealed carry program with card system so that after say a 16 hour course a Canadian can CC.
I guess that’s the best cucked version.

A few months ago I mentioned how I heard the OPP do a CFRO check on every single house on a street one day.
Somebody asked me about what sort of reasons do they check, and at the time I couldnt think of any of the more egregious ones but I said that they're doing it for almost every call, no matter how minor.
A few days ago, a 91 year-old called 911 for an ambulance because he was having heart trouble. When the ambulance got there they called the OPP because they couldnt get in. So they broke in and when the cop was in the house he saw a large gun safe. After paramedics stabilized the 91 year-old, the cop did CFRO check and specifically asked about if he had any restricted registered to him.

      Anonymous

You don't have to answer their questions. Simple as. Nothing they can about it, just stay quiet.

Doing a check for registered firearms/safe storage requires a.) consent of the homeowners to let them in, or b.) a warrant to enter.

        >they probably just wanted to make sure that when he died they could swarm the house and use power tools to open the safe and pose next to the dangerous weapons they "seized"
They have a system here called "niche"(or at least thats how the word is pronounced). It's probably an acronym for something, IDK I'm not a cop, I just listen to the scanner when I'm doing other stuff on the weekends.
Anyway this niche system is kind of like where cops are putting notes and flags for each other. I've heard lots of bullshit with that too. People are flagged as domestic abusers and stuff on it for basically nothing. It's stuff they often cant charge you with because they have no evidence, but becuase your neighbor called the cops when you & your wife were arguing they've flagged you on niche as a domestic abuser. Are they going to use that to red flag you? How long do they retain the data?
Anyway my point is that the cop was probably going to make a flag on niche for the 91 year old.
So what are they planning on doing with that data? Where does it go? Who else can access it? Can the CBSA? What about the US cops? Can they access it using their cross-border agreements? What kind of oversight does this data have, and how authorized it? Similar systems have been struck as a violation of the charter in the past.
I recommend everyone spend a bit of time listening to what the cops in their area are doing, I think the average citizen would be shocked.

I read what I wrote again, and it seems like I meant that you only wind up in niche if you are under suspicion, but that isnt the case. Sometimes you'll wind up in the system because the cops saw someone they dont like walking down the street, and you just happened to be standing beside them and handed them your ID because you knew werent doing anything wrong. Theres often long list of "names assosiated with" on niche. This database is likely to be very very large.

          >cops in my area are so busy fighting with junkies downtown or trying to bust people dealing fentanyl, they don't give a frick about some hunter with a few guns
Thats similar to my area. It's rural, but theres a few small towns. Sometimes I will hear something on niche thats a good thing. A couple weeks ago some gay called on a few kids shooting skeet in their yard. About a week later the same ass hat called again. The cop was on her way to the address to investigate "shots fired", and another cop came across the radio and said that he remembers the prior occurence and its on niche. So the cop turned around. They were short staff that day, if they werent busy, they still would've showed up to hassle these kids.
Regardless that may be true today, but will become valuable info for them tomorrow when confiscating firearms becomes priority #1.

              >how do you listen to the scanner? i thought it's all encrypted or on channels that civi radios can't tune into.
Where I am they use whats called a "beat repeater". It rebroadcasts a lot of the communications over analog to be used by handheld radios. Its probably a bit of an eccentricity to this because is large rural, but also has some small towns around where cops patrol on foot. Also for interoperability with the reserves.
I'm not certain but I believe many RCMP (& other services) comms are unencrypted even on digital systems. They just switch to "tac" cahannels for sensitive ops. You can check your area on broadcastify and RadioReference and if its possible to hear them, theres probably a feed available online. Or just search their forums for your town name and people will have talked about it before.
You can look into rtl-sdr, its not expensive to follow digital if you build your own antenna.

            >Canada has CPIC, takes into account things like having a firearms licence, previous police encounters and other information that they can compile through various encounters.
Should go further than just tell you its different. CPIC is built on an older system, if you've ever seen the UI, its actual text-based like DOS.
CPIC entries are very regimented and limited to what information they can hold. There are likely limitations because of the age of the database, and because of the pushback from the public due to privacy concerns at the time of its implementation.
Niche is kind of an end-run around all of that.
