look on internet to see if the body of water or ground water table are contaminated with heavy metals. if not, bring it to a rolling boil and add a drop of iodine if you want to be extra careful
Heavy metals are really only dangerous during prolonged exposure though (unless the levels are insane). If its just a weekend every now and then anon will be fine.
It just depends... in a survival situation, I'm damn sure drinking it. The most important thing to remember is to get water from a deep part. The unsafe bacteria and parasites are mostly found in the shallows where the sun heats the water up to higher temps. Most people who get brain eating amoebas and other shit get it from swimming in the shallows of lakes and such. Boating out to the middle and swimming in the deeper areas is relatively safe from shit like that. You are also far away from animal waste that would be near the shoreline.

Literally the opposite, as harmful pathogens are killed by UV light. But go ahead and keep spreading bullshit you heard on a YouTube survivalist video.
Whatever you think lil buddy. You gonna tell me the mosquito larvae and other lil critters aren't in the warm shallow water too? You ever been outdoors lil bud? Git smart.
>tells him to get smart. >is a dumbass himself.

stop pretending to be someone else. take your L. scientist say to not swim in shallow areas of lakes in the summer due to it being unsafe. they literally warn you about that around here in the summer.
Most people will get an upset stomach from natural bodies of water simply because their gut isn't used to it. Not necessarily because it's dangerous in general. We only ingest sterilized shit from a young age, so out gut bacteria is imbalanced for nature compared to other mammals. We should be able to drink from a puddle like a dog or cat, but instead we ingest chlorine and other shit all of our life, cucking our immune system and guts.
yes
its called a rainwater tank
they're advertised on TV all the time
you dont even need to filter it assuming you're a normal person that doesnt live in a polluted shithole

just boil it
or dont. I never filter my water
Well I don't want bits of dirt floating around inside the water.
So its fine to drink but it might make me sick for awhile?

HE MAD!
Depends on your filter.
Can't you just distill it (as best as possible)? Take 3 pans: 1 is your boiler, 1 is your condenser, 1 is your collector

Might still wanna if you're prone to dust storms and shit though.
Do you have a license to collect that naturally occurring rain water?!
>rainwater tank
Thanks I think I will buy/build one of these.
As a rule of thumb
>Is it running water
>Does the water smell or taste funny
Then based on these you can decide if you trust it or not.
No, buy bottle water and bring it with you. Oy vey.
It's probably safer to drink water further away from civilization than closer.
I drink from streams like 20 minutes from the city and haven't died or gotten river aids yet.
Could I drink from a stream everyday though if it was purified with copper?
The more you filter it the better. Try digging a gypsie well, add stones to the side and then a lid for the hole. Boil and then store with copper.
Also make sure to check up stream for gasoline spills and college swimmers.
I drink from rivers & streams in the white mountains all the time as long as it’s clear and moving fast. Ice cold all year round, never had a problem.
