I actually appreciate 2ch during this war. There are way more bonehead vatniks in the west than in Russia it seems. They view every pol-style Z moron as a paid poster at 2ch. Of course the Z fools say that everybody else is a Ukrainian in disguise.
Missiles were successfully intercepted by the armor.
The Ship made it back to base on its own power.
There were no losses.
Vatnik engineering company will just put some sheet metal over the hole and return it into service in 2 weeks.
Remember, Russia is winning, so there is no need to send any more weapons to Ukraine, I'm serious, please stop sending weapons to Ukraine.
I know you're baiting but watching the video you can see that all missiles were destroyed on impact. You can see them flying in on a frame before they impact and start exploding/burning. It's unlikely even a single missile survived. Get fucked nato trannies.
Silly holols think this will change anything, we’ll just send out our men in life rafts to invade Odessa, the carpenter is tapping his feet, the cassette tapes are being rewound, soon all of you will understand.
>Ukraine: We need 500 tanks to retake our homeland >UK: Sorry, but here. Have some storm shadows so you can destroy russias black sea navy >Ukraine: How is that relevant to the conflict? Russias navy doesnt matter at all! We need tanks and artillery ammo. >UK: yeah, how about you go and destroy that navy
Considering that without a navy, Russia doesn't have anything to interdict or blockade Ukrainian merchant shipping or platforms to launch Kalibrs from the sea, that's still a big win for Ukraine.
There was 1,000 made and the British have 500. Since it's replacement should be here in 2032 you'd think there'll be more sent if for nothing else than the chuckles it generates.
I'm glad when things work out, I was already thinking that the Askold hit was hopium
That's the one

The one with the "15 storm shadow, 13 intercepted, 2 hits" cope
I wonder if Russians will evolve their propaganda, sure the ship was hit 2 times, but we claim before the videos leak out that we intercepted another 10 missiles
It's crazy
How does he get EVERYTHING wrong? Someone should get a team of scientists to study this guy. By simply asking him questions, then assuming the opposite of what he says is true you'd literally achieve prescience.
The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation.
>didn't need kyiv >didn't need odessa >didn't need kherson, or zaporizhzhia, or kharkiv >didn't need the tanks, the bmps, the crews, the infantry, the ammo in the dumps, the arty tubes, the zoo-parks, the alligators, the fulcrums >didn't need that one sub >don't even need the ships
Fuck, they totally outplayed us. The Russians could be out of an airforce, a navy, an army, completely ejected from ukrainian territory, and they'd still have won, because they didn't need any of that.
Cope one - "its fake"
Cope two - "its actually was an arleigh burke in the gulf" [...]
Cope three - "pier was hit, only splinters reached the ship". [...]
I present you cope four - "missiles were more expensive than the ship, stupid xoxols*~~".

Storm Shadow is a joint Anglo-French project. IIRC the warhead is British and the rest is French. The French name for the missile is SCALP btw, and they also have delivered a bunch to Ukraine, including the long range version.
So Russia either gets SCALPed or gets its shit blown up by the edgiest named missile in the world...

Site is very likely owned by glowies, but the story you are telling is fantasy.
Some time mid-2010s, there was an email leak of some bullshit putinist movement. Naturally it was posted and discussed on 2ch.
And then mysteriously, the site went down. Admin reported that "its a heavy ddos, guys, cloudflare cant do anything to stop it! i dont know what im gonna do"(you could still open the site through mirror links, and even post yours "wtf" in a ghosttown).
It remained "down" for around a month.
Then it came back up. Admin said "oh, wonderful people from the Mail.Ru Group reached out to us and offered theirs ddos-mitigation tech, completely for free! its amazing!".
It was the same guy(he was doxed before this accident, and sometimes made videos addressing site users afterwards).
But his involvement in the sites life began to decline, nowadays he only shitposts on the official 2ch tg, makes new years addresses, and moved to turkey(? if i recall correctly) with the start of the war.
And yes, politics and opinions of users gradually changed too during all those years, culminating in almost total ziggerizm in 2022 with a few outspoken minorities. And the site is back using cloudflare too. lmao.
Consensus is the site is ran by someone closely affiliated with government, and Abu(said admin guy) is only a figurehead nowadays.

2ch culture is to be contrarian.
Back in the 00-es the contrarian thing was to shit on Russia, as the normies are mostly patriotic.
Then the relationship between Russia and US deteriorated, Russian internet got flooded with countless psyops and bot farms shitting on Russia, and so 2ch flipped to the opposite.
Ukrainians in particular contributed a lot here, they were the sole reason 2ch political board got flags. Head admin once mentioned that there was a grand total of 3 (three) threads ever created from Ukrainian IPs with topics other than shitting on Russia.
>The Russians could be out of an airforce, a navy, an army, completely ejected from ukrainian territory, and they'd still have won, because they didn't need any of that.
I'd unironically let them have that victory. They could even hold a parade and designate a special day "To celebrate when our victorious troops were escorted out of Ukraine".
All summed up by an old russian joke >Poor farmer Pyotr is fishing one day when he manages to catch the Golden Fish which grants wishes >But he doesn't know what to wish for >"What is it you lack?" asks the Golden Fish >"Farmer Blyshin has a milk cow and I do not" >"Excellent," says the Fish. "Do you want me to magic you a cow?" >"No, I want Blyshin's cow to drop dead."
Has there been any evidence that they used 15 missiles. Call me crazy but I don't believe anything the russians claim. Seems more likely to only cope left is to claim causing russian losses is just too costly.
Of course not, I don't believe they could even get enough launch platforms in the air at once.
It's either an outright rus cope or UA fired MALD, or that's how many interceptors rus fired
>used 15 missiles
Maybe, but not necessarily storm shadows. They've said previously how they use volleys of GRAD missiles with HIMARS launches as Ziggers can't distinguish them. Don't quote me on this - but i seem to recall they even removed warheads to make GRAD missiles fly similar distance. Could've sent a bunch of Tu-143 or even simpler shit as decoys.
As others explained, there were probably decoys. Pretty much every big strike for several months now involves a cluster of decoys accompanying the main munition(s).
Since SCALPs mount in pairs for available platforms in Ukraine, it seems reasonable that four missiles were fired along with a cluster of decoys from other sources. The vid clearly shows three distinct strikes, the fourth explosion could be a strike or secondaries going off inside the ship.
They can claim they shot down a dozen or more "missiles" and only managed to hit decoys, maybe they even got one SCALP out of four. vatnik claims don't mean shit without hard evidence to back it up.
>In the area of the Butoma shipyard in Kerch, the air defense system worked off, part of the debris of the downed missiles fell on the territory of one of the dry docks. There are no casualties. Keep calm and trust only official sources of information. >-Sergey Aksyonov, head of the Russian occupation government in Crimea on Nov. 4, Telegram. >https://t.me/Aksenov82/3456
>part of the debris of the downed missiles fell on the territory of one of the dry docks.
russian took down missiles and they accidentally fell down on military ships?
If they want to properly destroy the bridge, or at least take it out of commission for a long time, they gotta hit the supports - with a very large payload. Probably that's what they plan on using Marichka for.
They have openly said they are leaving the bridge up to allow withdrawal.
As for the truth of this I don't know, it makes sense to give the Russians an out but it's pretty clear Putin isn't going to give up any time soon and Russia is killing their own for trying to withdraw.
It could be that they are considering possibly giving Russia Crimea if Ukie support for the war dies out or western aid end (long term, this could last 20 years).
I think they're just keeping their options open for now, and waiting for more of the promised aid to roll in so they can actually exploit the bridge going down.
>would have been destroyed long time ago if it made sense.
it makes sense to destroy the bridge, but it's a monumental structure and to destroy it you would need a fucklot of high yield long range munition, and that is not worth it
Definitely repairable, but you run into a question of cost. The Russians could return both that kilo class and the landing ship back to service if they wanted to put the time and money into them, assuming the resulting fires did not permanently damage too much of the ships structure. However, the kind of money they would have to spend would not be worth it or they would have higher priorities. Like, trying to absolutely unfuck their land forces enough to take a country a fraction of their size.
The Navy is going to be the lowest priority until Ukraine is over, they'll keep the damaged vessels around and claim they are going to fix them and in 2050 some youtuber will make a video talking about how the wrecks are still technically in service.
amusingly enough, when ukes whacked zigger amphibious landing ship two months ago, russian cope ws that it no, was very unimportant, UNLIKE the powerful kalibr carrier AssCold which would ayyykshyually be a better target.

Any ship can be "repaired" depending in how you define repair so yes. ECONOMIC repair is different.
It's out of action for a very long time because Russia is not the WWII US. A ship can have the bow or stern blown completely off by torpedo yet be repaired by simply cutting off the damage section then welding on new (along with rewiring and plumbling etc).
Will ziggers do that in this case? They'd be fools and it will take years of work while diverting resources desperately needed elsewhere.
Anon, this is mostly a Burger board, esp. at this time of the day. As ESL diaspora I understand the reference but most here would not. Know your audience when trying to meme.
Yes. There are a couple of "original" phrases, such as "wearing a figleaf," that have evolved into general use of the word figleaf in almost any metaphorical phrase meaning "cover so little it might as well not be there." In context, tat base meaning can also mean, in addition, "but this is the story and we'll all just be polite and play nice as if it were true."
The origins come from Medieval paintings from the Garden of Eden, where artists had to censor the naughty bits being depicted from Biblical verse.
So, yeah,
https://i.imgur.com/TH3piIF.png
Good as new.
was an absolutely perfect use of the phrase in a visual sense.
The problem (of course?) being that nobody knows what a fig leaf looks like, so it's lost on anyone who isn't a botanist. Looks like lettuce leaves to me, which is somewhat even more confusing on several levels.
Good as new. was an absolutely perfect use of the phrase in a visual sense.
Except it's not about covering something visually, that leaf is a folk remedy you'd put on a minor scrape.
my soviet dad would rip those out of public soccer fields next to very busy large roadways and put them on my (small) open wounds saying it'll help heal it
I mean, yeah there are some studies that show it does have some small effects, but like, just grab a bandaid man.
plantago is antiseptic, so chances are it will help you more than just a bandaid (that is not antiseptic, but supposed to just cover your open wound, that you applied with antiseptic before that)
This ship is EXACTLY in the right fucking spot it needs to be to get quickly repaired and back out into the fight! They didn't sink it so they can just weld the holes and put more armor on them. If a ship can take 15 Stormshadows and only have light damage it's a fucking win!
Yes, the hull wasn't made out of cardboard or cardboard derivatives. But we're scrambling to figure out what the missile defense systems were made out of .
Ignorant question here, knowing that the insides of the ship are probably fucked because of internal explosions/fire, what would it take to repair damage like that? Would it be better to just scrap it and build new? Or would you tear it down to the waterline and rebuild? Just from my knowledge on rebuilding cars, that's a lot of twisted metal that has to be realigned, electrical conduits, plumbing, etc that has to be ripped out, not to mention whatever fire damage is on the inside.
If the damage is limited to what we can see, it's repairable. Throw it in drydock (if necessary) and replace half the superstructure and everything inside it. A first-world country on a war footing could probably do it in six months or whatever. Modern day Russia might take years or possibly never if they traded away all their industry for gold plated yachts.
On the other hand if the hull and engines are severely fucked it might cost less to build a new one. I kinda doubt that, though. The US put the Cole back into service after a fucking huge hole in the engineering spaces.
And considering the amount of corruption, graft, and logistical incompetence we've seen in every other section of the Russian military-industrial sector during this war, I wouldn't bet on their navy being much better. In which case a job like this seems like the sort of thing where even if it does happen, it'll end up so over-budget that they might as well have scrapped the ship.
It's a procedural, "slice-of-life" franchise more than a police-themed one, to be honest, but it always gets the mix of comedy, plot, and mecha just right. If you like shows that reward close attention to characters it's definitely for you, but it's mostly light-hearted fun and there's often not a long-running plot. There are moments of perfect, military-related action and logistics porn, though, with a focus on realism (often combined with cartoony elements like kaiju or incompetent terrorists).
ghost in the shell and patlabor were directed by the same guy. different writers and themes, and it can definitely be sillier than gits, unless we include the manga, but patlabor 2 is basically a tom clancy novel with a few giant robots
you don't need to watch the movies in order either. They're all about different characters although recognizable faces show up sometimes. I recommend going into the third movie (WXIII?) as blind as possible. It'll be more fun that way.
Early Days OVA is also good. I love the American exchange cop. The made-for-tv show is also good but the most silly.

>patlabor 2 is basically a tom clancy novel with a few giant robots
most apt description I've heard
>If the damage is limited to what we can see, it's repairable.
No, the whole fucking midship is gone from bridge to afterdeck. There is no repair, that ship is fucked.
We literally don't know the extent of the damage. Admitting that doesn't mean we're saying the attack wasn't successful. /k/'s not very good when it comes to estimating damage on vehicles.
>We literally don't know the extent of the damage
Look at the pic again you retard, the whole fucking midship is gone, the mast is gone, the radar is gone the VLS cells are gone and the inside of the ship has burned for hours. It is totally, fucking fucked.
well, cole had boat ied exploding outside, so it was basically a big hole outside, shockwave + flooding. Decent amounts of damage, but not exactly career ending.
Asscold had a warhead go off deep inside the ship, it probably gutted lot of internal components.
At this point it probably would be cheaper to take off whatever equipment that survived (like the gun systems) and build a new ship around them.
The thing is that russian shipbuilding capability is laughable, these lil nagger corvettes were about best they could build , and it still took them like a decade to finish this one up. For comparison, LCS shitbox is like 3 times heavier and it took like 16 months to build one.
>gun systems
The picture doesn't show the bow, so the forward gun may (OR may not) be salvageable. However it can be seen that the Storm Shadow has basically gutted the VLS farm and the aft Pantsir CIWS looks wrecked as well. Not much to salvage here...
it's easily beyond economic repair. you'd have to cut the ship back into its hull portions, remanufacture the damaged section, and hope that
the shock of the explosion hasn't reduced the structural strength of the ship or its mechanical elements
the electrical components haven't been damaged by heat or smoke, including cabling
even assuming this all happens, and they don't replace engines/power generation, they'd have a hull with dramatically higher maintenance and seaworthiness liability.
>hope that the shock of the explosion hasn't reduced the structural strength of the ship or its mechanical elements
You don't hope for something like that, you take measures to extensively inspect it using multiple NDT methods to ensure that nothing is too fucked.
This is very time consuming and expensive, and requires many inspectors with many skills and enough integrity to actually do it properly and report their findings correctly.
All of this sounds out of Russian capabilities.
At the very least, this radar here needs remanufacturing, as well as all the other expensive electronics that were on the masts, plus that circumcised missile launcher, plus the control room amidships, and I'm willing to bet that the engines are fucked by fire. even structurally the majority of the hull has been damaged by blast or warped by fire, so you'd need to cut out a lot of it and build on top of the surviving bits
I completely unironically and without memeing can't view Russians as human beings anymore. Like this isn't even just in the internet sense but rather if you look at any aspect of Russian society they basically shit all over the floor and then blame their neighbors for it. If provided irrefutable evidence they did it then they will claim that shitting on your own floor isn't a big deal and in fact it's quite common. In what sense are Russians human beings?
>be BAE >build stealth focused cruise missile specializing in bunkerbusting penetration >score more Naval kills than some purpose built Anti-Ship Missiles

>Kyiv Announces The 'Destruction' Of A Large Russian Ship In The Black Sea >By AFP - Agence France Presse >November 6, 2023
>Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday that his army had destroyed the Askold, a major Russian ship at the Kerch shipyard in annexed Crimea.
Ukrainian strike on the small Russian cruise missile carrier on November 4, on the Zaliv shipyard, also referred to as Butoma, in east Crimea.
Strikes in Crimea, Russia's central logistics hub for its forces in southern Ukraine, have become routine in recent months. Moscow appears to be moving its Black Sea Fleet away from the port of Sevastopol in Crimea to the port of Novorossiysk in Russia's Krasnodar Krai as a result, satellite images published last month showed.
"The ship hasn't even taken part in sailing or combat yet; it was undergoing some final testing work, so that it could then go to sea and fight against our state," Yuriy Ignat, a spokesperson for Ukraine's air force said during a broadcast on national television.
A launching ceremony was held for the Askold in occupied Kerch in September 2021, and it was designed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau. It is reported to be armed with a modernized 76.2-mm AK-176 MA artillery mount, two AK-630M anti-aircraft artillery systems and a Kalibr strike missile system.
Radio Liberty reported in February 2022 that several ships were being built at a shipbuilding plant in Kerch, including the Askold.
Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) analyst MT Anderson said in a post on X that the satellite images suggested that, as of November 2, Askold was undergoing sea trials in Novorossiysk.
"The Askold ship, armed with Caliber missiles and a naval version of the Pantsir complex, will complete sea trials in December and begin state trials at the beginning of 2023. Upon completion of the naval part of the test program, an audit of the ship will begin," the source said.
The Kremlin hasn't commented on reports that the Askold was damaged last week. Newsweek has contacted the Russian Defense Ministry for comment via email.
Andriy Ryzhenko, Ukrainian captain of the first rank navy reserve, told Schemes that according to his information, on November 4, "in Kerch at the time of the explosions there was only one ship capable of carrying Kalibr missiles, namely Askold."
"You can see that he's (the ship) still afloat, but the upper part of the ship is significantly damaged," Ryzhenko said.

kino
75/78 missiles were intercepted!
Damn how many stormshadows do they have
got a normal playback video?
stupid hohols wasted 3 rockets for 1 ship
Looks like expected for a few to be intercepted, but all have reached. How embarrassing, for both sides.
Are those all hits or did the missile bay explode?
The poor yacht in the background. Does nobody think about the poor oligarchs?
I think they're literally going to start putting missile launchers on yachts, Iran style
Another tea kettle left in the stove.
Are those secondary explosions we're seeing? If the ammo cooked off then the ship is dead.
nah, look at the corners, can spot second and third missile coming in from right then left
I can't see shit through all that fire and crap so I'll take your word for it. Still, 3 Storm Shadows have got to hurt.
Missiles were successfully intercepted by the armor.

Haha stupid HATO, Russia have many ship more ship than missile and ship was old anyway.
Interesting, all 3 missiles came from different directions. kino
So the Storm Shadows circled around like sharks before moving in for the kill?
Possibly, or launched from distributed locations to lessen the odds of all 3 aircraft being detected by AWACS.
1 storm shadow, 2 AA missiles trying to intercept it
I wish, i would die of laughter

>Ukraine: How is that relevant to the conflict? Russias navy doesnt matter at all! We need tanks and artillery ammo.
>UK: yeah, how about you go and destroy that navy
Considering that without a navy, Russia doesn't have anything to interdict or blockade Ukrainian merchant shipping or platforms to launch Kalibrs from the sea, that's still a big win for Ukraine.
No ships to blockade merchant shipping.
Also, as Ukraine degrades russia's cruise missile launching cabability, more AA can be directed to the front
land launched AShM:s are enough. But these ships can launch Kalibrs plus destroying them is big PR win each time.
possibly but how long does that take do you reckon
Just fill holes with concrete
probably if you replace every part, but then you have to deal with the philosophical quandry of whether it's still the same ship
It'll be a sad day when storm shadow/SCALP run out. Hopefully Ukies have F-16 with JASSM by then
There was 1,000 made and the British have 500. Since it's replacement should be here in 2032 you'd think there'll be more sent if for nothing else than the chuckles it generates.
The British built 1,000 for themselves, the French another 700 I think
Maybe, can you zoom out a bit? I don't think I'm seeing the whole picture.
Some concrete and it goes into the sea again!
Is it this one or another?
I'm glad when things work out, I was already thinking that the Askold hit was hopium
That's the one
I wonder if Russians will evolve their propaganda, sure the ship was hit 2 times, but we claim before the videos leak out that we intercepted another 10 missiles
I'm sorry storm shadow
Is only minor splinters, comrades
I'm convinced if Copelord said the sky is blue it would suddenly turn bright red since he's unable to be right about anything.

how does this dude consistently get everything so horribly wrong
he must have some fucking insider info to get everything wrong perfectly
He repeats the Kremlin narrative so it is literally the opposite of the truth.
does this guy leave his house? i expect him to get his face beaten out in public.
>ship got hit and pier got minor damaged, relatively
Almost everything he says is the opposite of what happened. How is that possible?
This has to be on purpose, does he get money from his idiotic posts?
A clockwork.
is that thing still alive?
No ship is destroyed
I'm convoked this guy is just an ironic lolcow. No way he believes the shit he's saying
I think he's just a narcissist and a talkie. They threw him in a supply company to make sure he couldn't actually fuck anything important up.

Cope one - "its fake"
Cope two - "its actually was an arleigh burke in the gulf"
Cope three - "pier was hit, only splinters reached the ship".
I present you cope four - "missiles were more expensive than the ship, stupid xoxols*~~".

Fuck, they totally outplayed us. The Russians could be out of an airforce, a navy, an army, completely ejected from ukrainian territory, and they'd still have won, because they didn't need any of that.

aren't storm shadows made by the british?

Perfidious Anglo-Saxons.
Storm Shadow is a joint Anglo-French project. IIRC the warhead is British and the rest is French. The French name for the missile is SCALP btw, and they also have delivered a bunch to Ukraine, including the long range version.
So Russia either gets SCALPed or gets its shit blown up by the edgiest named missile in the world...
>minor repairs and further calibration of crests
god, are they even looking at the same image?
Updates.
didn't these guys used to laugh at their country's incompetence? now they look like CHUG.
guess it depends on the thread or even board, tho tbtbh i've rarely visited the place in the past. to me online russhit posters are merely varying degrees of "rasha stronk" vatniks, be they pro western or pro monke
the servers got ceased by their glowies, the owner got sent to siberia but wonder by wonder the site was back up and running less than a day later
totally not being run by the fsb now
so the people that used 2ch and the people that use 2ch changed overnight
we should add russians at the bottom
And the site is back using cloudflare too. lmao.
Consensus is the site is ran by someone closely affiliated with government, and Abu(said admin guy) is only a figurehead nowadays.
thanks I clearly got some stuff wrong/mixed up
2ch culture is to be contrarian.
The video is in the cart!
Singapur flag, right?
>o-our ships are cheap, our lives are cheap
>take that hato dogs
They really are proud of destroying everything. It's just sad.
Pathetic tiny amebas these russians. They are an insult to multi celled organisms
The meme that Russians don't want to make their situation better, they just want to see everyone else living as poorly as them is 100% true.
>meme
It's not a meme, it's a plan
All summed up by an old russian joke
>Poor farmer Pyotr is fishing one day when he manages to catch the Golden Fish which grants wishes
>But he doesn't know what to wish for
>"What is it you lack?" asks the Golden Fish
>"Farmer Blyshin has a milk cow and I do not"

>"No, I want Blyshin's cow to drop dead."

Could've sent a bunch of Tu-143 or even simpler shit as decoys.
>any evidence that they used 15 missiles
No.

True when you realize Russian commanders don’t consider their troops or workers to be people
>part of the debris of the downed missiles fell on the territory of one of the dry docks.
russian took down missiles and they accidentally fell down on military ships?
You got into ER with an 8 ball up your ass, you gotta say something.
NO PANIC
The bridge is just few kilometers north-east.
I would have been destroyed long time ago if it made sense.
I think they're just keeping their options open for now, and waiting for more of the promised aid to roll in so they can actually exploit the bridge going down.
>would have been destroyed long time ago if it made sense.
it makes sense to destroy the bridge, but it's a monumental structure and to destroy it you would need a fucklot of high yield long range munition, and that is not worth it
It was a SCALP-EG, Macron sends his regards.
That's some nuclear-grade butthurt. Sounds like a hedgehog climbed up inside his anus.

Your canoe would probably hold up better under bombardment, honestly.
As someone with very little knowledge of ships, is this totally fucked? I know its not sunk, but internal fires, secondaries on-board?
Seriously?
Does anyone have the updated black sea fleet chart? do we have a Bingo yet?
Back to the pol thread homosexual, we don't want your kind here
Any ship can be "repaired" depending in how you define repair so yes.
It's not even fucking sunk!
Im hearing israeli voices and I like it
Can we see the picture of it after being hit by a missile?
Depends
Are humans going to repair it?
or
Is it up to russians?
Hypothetically, yes, as it's still afloat.
Realistically, no, not with the current state of Russian logistics and engineering.
Good as new.
Anon, this is mostly a Burger board, esp. at this time of the day. As ESL diaspora I understand the reference but most here would not. Know your audience when trying to meme.
I think English has a similar term, "put a figleaf over it".
no, that plant is supposed to have healing properties. Fig leaves are only for cover immodest areas.
So, yeah,
was an absolutely perfect use of the phrase in a visual sense.
The problem (of course?) being that nobody knows what a fig leaf looks like, so it's lost on anyone who isn't a botanist. Looks like lettuce leaves to me, which is somewhat even more confusing on several levels.
>So, yeah,
Good as new. was an absolutely perfect use of the phrase in a visual sense.
Except it's not about covering something visually, that leaf is a folk remedy you'd put on a minor scrape.
What the hell is the reference supposed to be?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantago
folklore says that type leaf has healing properties when used as a bandage. You're supposed cover your boo boo with it and then wrap it with bandages.
Although I didn't know it is edible. That's cool. I'll report back tomorrow on the taste.
https://www.rbth.com/lifestyle/331897-plantain-russian-podorozhnik-cure
Haha, that's funny
my soviet dad would rip those out of public soccer fields next to very busy large roadways and put them on my (small) open wounds saying it'll help heal it
I mean, yeah there are some studies that show it does have some small effects, but like, just grab a bandaid man.
plantago is antiseptic, so chances are it will help you more than just a bandaid (that is not antiseptic, but supposed to just cover your open wound, that you applied with antiseptic before that)
t. plantsfag
This ship is EXACTLY in the right fucking spot it needs to be to get quickly repaired and back out into the fight! They didn't sink it so they can just weld the holes and put more armor on them. If a ship can take 15 Stormshadows and only have light damage it's a fucking win!
>Can this ship be repaired?
Sure it can. By Russians? Unlikely.
Looks like the whole midship is gone, that includes al the VLS cells, the radar and sensor mast.
Well at least the front didn't fall off.
Yes, the hull wasn't made out of cardboard or cardboard derivatives. But we're scrambling to figure out what the missile defense systems were made out of .
How do you say "shit'll buff out" in Russian?
"Я люблю кoгдa мeня пиздит cын кaдыpoвa".
Can you fucks stop thinking about gay sex for one fucking second? Please
"fucks" means beats in that meaning
when was the last chimpout lmao? Gotta build more missiles?
ship returned to dock under own power!
Yes, in just two weeks.
A functional dry dock for starters and a good defense contractor with competent leadership and skilled workers.
In which case a job like this seems like the sort of thing where even if it does happen, it'll end up so over-budget that they might as well have scrapped the ship.
good taste.
Thanks. Patlabor is the best.
>tfw there will never be a real weapon that so perfectly answers the riddle of steel
Fighter jets come close, I guess...
how does it compare to similar military/operator themed animes like ghost in the shell or full metal panic?
those are my favourites from the genre
The made-for-tv show is also good but the most silly.
the Patlabor 2 movie is based af
>patlabor 2 is basically a tom clancy novel with a few giant robots
most apt description I've heard
At the very least, this radar here needs remanufacturing, as well as all the other expensive electronics that were on the masts, plus that circumcised missile launcher, plus the control room amidships, and I'm willing to bet that the engines are fucked by fire. even structurally the majority of the hull has been damaged by blast or warped by fire, so you'd need to cut out a lot of it and build on top of the surviving bits
in short, a ship of Theseus job
Is this the ship that got hit a few days ago or the ship the got hit next to the sub?
Couple days ago. The ship with the sub was an old landing ship.
Thanks, this ship is so fucked I couldn't even tell. Has copelord commented yet? He claimed the ship got some splinted from the dock.
>he hasn't commented yet
He's just going to memory hole it.
>Actually this doesn't matter at all. We can simply remove the engine and put in a ship that was waiting for one.
the cope is evolving
>Hey! Look at all these spare parts we just found!
>THE BOAT WITH THE ENGINES FIGHTS!
>WHEN THE BOAT WITH THE ENGINES GETS SCALP’D,
>THE NEXT BOAT PICKS UP THE ENGINES AND STARTS FIGHTING
I enjoy these.
But when can they hit more arms factories?
I completely unironically and without memeing can't view Russians as human beings anymore. Like this isn't even just in the internet sense but rather if you look at any aspect of Russian society they basically shit all over the floor and then blame their neighbors for it. If provided irrefutable evidence they did it then they will claim that shitting on your own floor isn't a big deal and in fact it's quite common. In what sense are Russians human beings?
>Can this ship be repaired?
easy, in a few weeks tops
>just replace the hull
>be BAE
>build stealth focused cruise missile specializing in bunkerbusting penetration
>score more Naval kills than some purpose built Anti-Ship Missiles
???
A ship is just a bunker that floats.
Didn't it even kill a Kilo submarine?
No it only sustained minor damage like the Kursk.
'ship' and 'immobile bunker' are pretty much the same thing in the Russian Navy. Never leaving port is their specialty.
It is called a "fleet in being" and I promise you it is incredibly effective at preventing your enemy from attacking you.
What's the difference between a "fleet in being" and a blockaded fleet stuck in port?
“A ship is safest when in port…
So that’s where we’re fucking staying, lol”
Imagine being the largest country in the world and taking naval losses not seen since WW2 from a rival with no navy.
let's be honest, this is a sadder performance than the falklands war. at least the argies had fairly modern attack aircraft.
I think they're close to matching their performance the last time the black sea fleet tried to fight. At least in terms of lost tonnage.
Clearly UK and France need to make some more storm shadows to keep around as the cheap option to their new upcoming advanced one.
yeah ezpz
looks buoyant to me
>I'M SORRY STORM SHADOW!!
Ukrainian daily update from yesterday didn't mention any new ships eliminated.

>Kyiv Announces The 'Destruction' Of A Large Russian Ship In The Black Sea
>By AFP - Agence France Presse
>November 6, 2023
>Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday that his army had destroyed the Askold, a major Russian ship at the Kerch shipyard in annexed Crimea.
>"I thank everyone who ensured the successful destruction of the Russian ship at the Kerch shipyard," he said in his evening address, speaking two days after Kyiv said it had "successfully" carried out strikes in that area.

[ CT'd] -->
