I used to dress well and all it did was attract gold diggers. Better dress like the autist I am. I don't wear camo jackets generally though, just trousers
I enjoy wearing Fleck or DNC in public. Normal gays dont notice or care, but based bros notice and will give a smile or a nod. It's like a social doghistle.

Except for my desert night hoodie of course, I wear that whenever I want.

fleck is gay in public, DNC is based. I went to london and tons of people were wearing m81/dpm style jackets so I want to integrate that into my fashion a little
The only good looking, kinda tactical things are >combat boots >olive drab jackets >nato straps for watches
Camo looks trashy in casual situations and i have never seen anyone that can make it work, except maybe woodland . The rule of thumb is if you are going to look out of place with a rifle in a situation, you are going to look out of place in a camo. Combat boots work well with jeans in fall or winter, same for plain milsurp jackets, nato straps work well with diver watches. But everything else that looks even remotely tactical, ie >camo clothes >cargo pants >keffiyeh / shemagh >bags with molle >tactical sneakers >those high speed sunglasses
is fricking disgusting
I wore a flecktarn shirt in high school once because I thought it would look punk or something. In retrospect it was cringe as shit. I'm really embarrassed by it still.
Anyway I don't wear camo shit in public now just because most of it is multicam and I think it will make people more suspicious that I might be carrying or autistic. I honestly don't really know why I own multicam shit anymore, I'm not fighting a war and you don't even really need camo for deer hunting.
I got a flecktarn shirt, a pair of woodland camo pants and a pair of m81 urban camo pants, i don't get a lot of use out of the woodlands and the flecktarn shirt but i still like them, i wear the m81s a lot tho, really like how they fit and they go with a lot of my stuff
No one really cares so long as you aren't fully decked out in, wearing camo tops outside of jackets or t shirts there's really no reason to wear those, or going out of your way to wear insignia that you didn't earn.

If you don't care about the quality, then rothco is probably the way to go in some regards. But if you want something that will last a while, then its not something to go for, especially if you're doing physical activities. Rothco has problems, especially with the way their material are sewn in and also put together. It makes sense since the pants is literally assembled in china, so the inconsistency in quality makes sense.

They are inconsistent when it comes to quality. Sometimes they are bad while others its just average. Chinese made crap will always be inconsistent like that. But my experience is that they wear/fade pretty fast. Especially their buttons/sown pockets. The ankle strings also get pretty worn down fast. But rothco is good if you want to find niche colored camos in m81 patterns that is around 30/40 bucks per BDUs. I got 3 urban colored ones, 2 in m81 patterns and 1 in digital patterns. My first urban ones was fine, but after a while the buttons started to get lose. I got my digital pants and the crotch area started to get ripped for some reasons. And my third urban m81 bdu had the sewn fabric on my cargo pockets ripped apart after a few months of use. Rothco also has an issue with their sizing. Sometimes the sizing is too big or too small than what its issued as. Rothco so far has been not that good and they get worn pretty fast or the way it is made is not properly made, like sewn in pockets or buttons. I've bought army ACUs and they work better and last longer than rothco products despite rothco advertising themselves as "made towards military specifications".

It does have its own size correction shit on the side of the pants. You can adjust the size if its too tight or too loose.
I am a jeans and shirt/sweater guy but do wear my OTTE MCB puffer and rain shell for everyday wear. While I’m no high fashion expert, my friend is a photographer for Vogue and she said it is “hot”.
Sorry I know, ugh, it’s just that I like it and am gonna wear it.
Is there a tactical advantage in buying casual clothes in Walmart? I never really cared much for branded clothing, and a lot of it is of shit quality anyway. Is Walmart clothing a bad idea? Of course, when I’m LARPing I’ll wear my fancier clothes and shoes, but for just going out grocery shopping or visiting friends or stuff like that, I don’t see why I can’t just buy clothes from Walmart
George Wally brand jeans were actually pretty good IMHO for the price. That was before they changed it to now ‘Jeaniology’ brand. Thier relaxed fit jeans for the last decade worked well and lasted a while for an affordable price and wear was comparable to my Wrangler jeans for more. The new stuff is thinner then the old stuff. You might luck out and buy some of the old stock if you can find it in store
Some contacts I have in the Mexican Marines were able to help me with a number of things. Not sure how I feel about the newer fleeces though I kind of prefer the feel of the older one.
Wearing camo is apparently a fashion trend among men and some women where I live. Also Rammstein had concert here recently, and the day after I noticed big rise in people wearing flecktarn and Rammstein merch in public
In Finland you can get away with it if you're a hipster, rocker or biker. Also if you're rural, nobody gives a frick about one guy in my town going everywhere in full snow camo including balaclava mid winter
There's a right way to do camo in public and it's limited to only one piece of clothing. Also it has to have a good fit; not baggy nor too tight. But that's just looking good in general
Crocs are perfectly fine casual/beach/light yard work shoes and I'm tired of pretending they're not. People who sperg out over then are the same class of morons who don't like the word "moist"
I’ve worn Alpenflage and picrel in public, actually gotten some compliments and questions. Good conversation pieces and not autistic if worn with simple jeans, solid color undershirt and normal person boots/shoes.
Stylish cut
Similarly, I think you can get away with wearing Frog CCE jackets because they're absolutely useless for any practical purpose and only exist to look good
why would you wear camoflage and look like a try hard larping homosexual when you can simply wear grey/beige/olive green and look business professional
I've only seen ladies in these, usually big crosses and stuff like that, don't really wear hats. Either just normal plain clothes that I'd usually wear, or ghillies and NVG goggles with a rifle wrap. Because I'm only using the camo for hunting anyways. Yeah that is definitely a Southern truck stop hat, they got t-shirts and hot sauce too. You gotta get some down home gas station fried chicken and boiled peanuts brother that's the ticket.
>work at gun company >boomers and conventional veteran dorks wear bdu and acu pants in the plant >flex on then with cryes to remind them what they aren’t
Specific events. Disaster relief work mostly or when doing brush clearing, used udp acu is freaking tough and cheap plus packs well. I can fit 2 weeks worth of pants into a small area
BDU pants faded or rit-dyed are decent work pants. Better than a tailored five eleven. I dunno, I'm a work from home office man instead of on the construction site these days. I want to find the perfect scrubs or crew pants, but there's too many. Dickies is a good brand for working in the field, but really loose and baggy on the scrubs.
It depends on the bdus. Shit made in China are not good bdu pants. Like rothco for example. If you want good bdus/ACUs, buy some government issued stuff.
Camo is everywhere here in Croatia, and probably the rest of ex-yu. I had people in my highschool that would wear full camo all the time and it wasnt ever even brought up for discussion.
when I was a kid until I was a highschooler/young adult I liked to wear camo pants. But after I was in the army, it feels cringe wearing camo clothing that's US camo. I don't know, like personally I won't be caught wearing 81 woodlands, digital, or ocp because it just feels weird to me. That being said I wear flektarn pants every now and then. I wear a strichtarn t shirt sometimes. But the only like western camo product I will wear is my ocp boonie cap that I got when I was doing natty guard rifle competitions. The boonie hat feels right, anything else is just signaling way too hard.

Not sure if they have it on your size, though.
Unapologetically, yes. Especially when I go on a tactical recon to the local Walmart...wearing camouflage there is essentially what the "grey man" is anywhere else.
And yeah, the "tactical recon to Walmart" gets a /sarc tag, for those too autistic to get it.
My girlfriend still eggs me on to wear my camies despite no longer being active duty. She says I "look cute" and wants me to wear my trousers at least but I think it makes me look like a gay, so I don't.
I don't think people will think that unless you're wearing full uniform. Plenty of USMC surplus out there that if you're wearing a trouser then nobody is going to care. I have some MCCUU pants and nobody really batted an eye to it.
I think it doesn’t look stylish so I don’t, I only have 1 BDU pants and 1 BDU jacket in M81, what I used to wear tho is lvl7 ecwcs jacket in winter, I also have a Haly’s sekri pcu in aor2 which is very handy for mild cold but I admit it looks autistic
I was in the Army for 12 years and hated going outbin public in uniform. It would feel cringe wearing anything now, maybe pants if Im innawoods somewhere.
I have like 2 duffels filled with combat tops/RFI uniforms that I dont know why I still have. Other than the pants I cant see any reason to wear it.
Not so much these days, it feels kind of tryhard IMO. I lived in NYC a few years ago and whenever I wore my alpenflage field jacket out I would get compliments/inquiries from random people, most I ever got was something like 5 in one day. I have two sets of OCP bottoms that got fricked up last deployment, I'm going to cut them down into shorts for outdoors/ultra casual wear etc.
I grew a beard and started wearing my grandfather's ERDL combat jacket after his funeral, but since he was so much bigger than I am it hangs on me like I'm wearing Kyle Reese's jacket. Keeps reminding me I need to bulk harder. I also got a frickton of OG-107s from his time as a Seabee and I'm considering trying to wear the tops this fall but I don't expect them to even be passable with how big they are.
I was gonna buy an Irish DPM jacket to add to my collection a few days ago but they sold out before I could cop
This winter I'm considering getting a folding-braced pistol AR after SCOTUS knocks down the ruling and EDCing it under my grandfather's old cold-weather field jacket, since my folding 16-incher's muzzle can almost hide under the jacket
Never anything common/in service that isn’t dyed. Only ever one piece in the fit. Get compliments from normies and fitties on it so seems to work for me.
Never camo trousers tho unless innawoods and never camo on the range. Also take off rank tabs/flags to avoid larpcore.
I wear muted jungle tiger stripe camo pants for camo Fridays at work and occasionally when I don't want to take my belt out and suspenders off when I go to the store
What are some of the better clothing providers for /k/ gear? I'm fricking tall with broad shoulders so most jackets/coats won't fit me without the arms getting fricking torn so I'm stuck to vests until further notice, most surplus dealers I find only go up to 2X which is just a size to small for me. Any pointers lads?
Ebay is fine. I ordered some MCCUUs on there. The only issue you have to face with ebay is finding sellers that can sell at a reasonable price. But its good enough to be like a flea market for military surplus.
Been wearing an old Belgian jacket for about 8 or so years now. Outside of minor repairs to damaged pockets and a few paint stains that have accumulated over time, this thing has been one of the most reliable piece of clothing I've ever owned.
It's an added bonus that I can wear it with any pair of jeans and shirt and still have it look good, also makes for a good conversation topic if anyone asks.
End of the day you can wear most pieces of surplus so long as you keep it to one item per outfit, even easier with single toned items.
Are those French F2 jackets good for rain/wind in warmer weather? And if not, what would you guys recommend?
Also does British DPM make me look like an autist y/n
As somebody who dresses well, I can tell you it looks shitty and you only want to do it if you absolutely have to.
Depending on your definition of "dressing well"
The literal baseline of just jeans and a tee shirt is better looking and more well presented than any amount of camouflage issued gear, especially modern gear that has no concern for appearance.

Chad conventional infantry lost Nam and A-stan

Only when I'm on vacation. I'll wear tigerstripe pants and a tshirt.
Tiger stripe is just odd enough for a pattern that people think it's more kitsch than anything.
Plus it looks aesthetic as frick
Also, desert tiger stripe makes me feel like a glowie

Old guy = cute
Tommy Chong looks like hell.
This is the correct answer. I sometimes wear tigerstripe pants or a hoodie. Never both at the same time unless innawoods.
I'd say tigerstripe trousers with a black or white top works fine. Better with plain colour shirts and jackets. probably goes with any camo

Camos I have seen receive compliments from women:
ATACS AU
Alpenflage
nice patch
we don't have that stolen valor craze going on anymore so knock yourself out.
Why not? Walmart clothes are cheap and they last for while. The best clothing you can buy is probably plain colored ones.
Thanks for the reassurance, anons. I’m gonna start Walmartmaxxing from now on.
You're still going to buy branded clothes at walmart, it's just gonna be shitty brands
Hope you like George™
Walmart sometimes sell surplus, although mainly online. I remember them having some ABUs/ACUs for sale. So they do sometimes sell USGI stuff.
Honestly, their jeans are pretty good.
just make sure the shit you're buying isn't made of polyester and you're good
Their stuff made from polyester isn't bad.
it's not about the build quality but the material itself, polyester is actively bad for you
Not necessarily, that is if you have sensitive skin to the shit that is made in it. But aside from that, there is barely an adverse effect.
Unless you're in a fire, then it becomes part of your skin
Any clothings becomes like that when expose to high heat.
During the colder months I'll sometimes wear the fleece, when it rains or I'm hiking I usually bring the coat.
where the frick did you get these from?
Some contacts I have in the Mexican Marines were able to help me with a number of things. Not sure how I feel about the newer fleeces though I kind of prefer the feel of the older one.
>US4CES
Bruh where did you get them
I wore an advisor cut tiger stripe shirt to church once, and a girl complimented me, so I think it's okay
I do it when im kidnapping women
This post is going to look terrible in the background check at your next interview.
I want to visit Finland but the cuisine is so sea urchin caviar, sea weed, barley and boiled beef.
There's no sea anything here if you stay out of coastalBlack person territory, let alone sea urchins because the Baltic Sea is half devoid of oxygen
Are the local girls mostly brown eyed brunettes where you are?
God I fricking wish. Pretty sure Finland is 80%-ish blonde no matter where you are
>Finland is 80%-ish blonde
Thx, kinda unclear about the demography of this region. I have a thing for picrel.
Sauce please! For my biology class project thank you very much dear sir
Northern European. Go get 'um, tiger!
I'm pretty sure that's Jordan Carver.
Oh no!!
No. I bet you get morons going "hurrhurr where are your legs?"
I always say I lost them in the war
I wear a flecktarn parka over my dress in winter
There's a right way to do camo in public and it's limited to only one piece of clothing. Also it has to have a good fit; not baggy nor too tight. But that's just looking good in general
i'll wear baggy clothes if i want, thank you very much
You are very much free to but you'll look like a bum
Unless you're fit enough to pull off partisancore but you will always look like a foreign fighter out of place or a tool
>multicam
Ew, no
>partisan ss leto, flecktarn, strichtarn, m81
Yes
I do anything I want. Omani Desert.
kinda.
for colder deployments.
Kek
Yeah I have camo Crocs I have no shame wearing
Crocs are perfectly fine casual/beach/light yard work shoes and I'm tired of pretending they're not. People who sperg out over then are the same class of morons who don't like the word "moist"
>Crocs are perfectly fine
The absolute state of American fashion.
Anecdotal, but I saw way more Europoors wearing crocs than any amount of people in my home city. Particularly Belgians for some reason.
As someone who aspires to look like an butthole in public, I advise that you wear them everywhere you can.
If you wear camo nobody can tell you shit your pants
Trying to blend in while on a mission to infiltrate the dick-sucking factory ha ha. Heh.
Why would there be a "dick sucking factory"? Maybe a clinic, or a convention.
What happened to the feet?
>camos in public/as casual wear
yes
>hiking or larp
also yes
i will wear milsurp in public, but never camouflage. i dye some of my items brown or red too.
I’ve worn Alpenflage and picrel in public, actually gotten some compliments and questions. Good conversation pieces and not autistic if worn with simple jeans, solid color undershirt and normal person boots/shoes.
Based and alpenflage-pilled.
Same, the field coat looks good with jeans and just about any shirt. I shoot local comp (glorified practicing) and get compliments on it regularly
I wear camo jackets occasionally, but for some reason the flecktarn parka is the one that people compliment.
Stylish cut
Similarly, I think you can get away with wearing Frog CCE jackets because they're absolutely useless for any practical purpose and only exist to look good
?? Can you pic me for ref?
It's the F2 jacket, you can find many examples googling
I wear a cce fleece all the time.
I'm contemplating getting one as well
they look great, stitching is good but fleece material is kinda cheap. still comfy. sizing is all over the place.
i think maybe a parka is socially acceptable. because its a big ass warm coat, it has utility beyond being an edgelord
Yes
I see you American Pipedream...
>I see you American Pipedream...
but the picture is from Varusteleka
No, that's me.
no you silly billy, i meant the headless alpenflage
Nope, I only wear OD surp.
why would you wear camoflage and look like a try hard larping homosexual when you can simply wear grey/beige/olive green and look business professional
>business professional
Some people wear hunting camo around here but if I see someone in active duty gear I'm gonna assume they are on active duty
Hunting camo is not military gear, it is for deer and hogs and such, and it is normal for people to wear camo shirts and all that
Veterans might wear a veteran's hat or something like that
But a lot of veterans you wouldn't really know and they don't really talk about it either
I mostly associate camo with hunting, being raised as a redneck, and digital camo with the military
No you get one of those camo hats in a truck stop with gaudy rhinestones all over it. That's like Grey Man mode but for Branson, Missouri.
You gotta get some down home gas station fried chicken and boiled peanuts brother that's the ticket.
>work at gun company
>boomers and conventional veteran dorks wear bdu and acu pants in the plant
>flex on then with cryes to remind them what they aren’t
yikes + cringe
Specific events. Disaster relief work mostly or when doing brush clearing, used udp acu is freaking tough and cheap plus packs well. I can fit 2 weeks worth of pants into a small area
>I can fit 2 weeks worth of pants into a small area
so two pairs?
>full uniform outside of hiking or larp
no.
>one piece as part of an overall outfit
sure
yeah we straight bussin fr fr no cap
Flecktarn jacket.
I cut a pair of ACU pants into jorts back in the day and I would wear those and go out and get drunk. Does that count ?
Sounds like bad decision making all around.
Ffs. Anti-social people giving advice on decision making on PrepHole. Go live a little and touch a woman.
Got laid last night, was not wearing jorts.
They're icky though.
Camo is everywhere here in Croatia, and probably the rest of ex-yu. I had people in my highschool that would wear full camo all the time and it wasnt ever even brought up for discussion.
Multicam and Marpat are cringe to wear in public
Good camo threads never die, they just blend in.
It's 2023 and you're concerned about camo in public? It's acceptable to walk around as a troony with a shirt advocating raping newborn babies.
If you're trying to get women that might be a different scenario, but do you really want a woman that thinks wearing camo is cringe?
>do you really want a woman that thinks wearing camo is cringe?
The real question, ignored by too many men
when I was a kid until I was a highschooler/young adult I liked to wear camo pants.
I wear camo, usually just pants, to the range and get frequent compliments.
Wouldn't wear it as a casual everyday thing.
Sometimes I’ll wear those desert storm chocolate chip camo pants with a t shirt or hoodie.
Where to buy a good 6 colour desert cargo pants?

Not sure if they have it on your size, though.
I wear either ACU, ABU, MCCUU trousers with a regular shirt.
Getting alot of pants answers, I usually do tops.
Tops generally make you look like a hobo or larper, harder to pull off
Unapologetically, yes.
Its pretty fashionable to wear camo pants. Not sure why you consider it that way. People are not going to care unless you're wearing the full uniform.
I think its embarassing if ppl know im prior USMC. Unless its for discounts and free shit at stores, then idc.
I don't think people will think that unless you're wearing full uniform. Plenty of USMC surplus out there that if you're wearing a trouser then nobody is going to care. I have some MCCUU pants and nobody really batted an eye to it.
>embarassing
Calm down, Francis.
>I think its embarassing if ppl know im prior USMC. Unless its for discounts and free shit at stores, then idc.
I want a silk kimono in multicam so bad!
If I’m going to hunting or fishing illl rock my camo pants almost exclusively because 1 gorillion pockets
what the frick is a "zbro," you stupid Black person?
Wasted double-dubs, put a 20 gauge in your mouth and pretend you dated Courtney Love
nothing super loud in public, m81 or 3 type desert pants as far as I go. In the rain I do break out the flecktarn jacket
/k/amo for all /k/ related activities, whether in public or in nature
>t. Army gay
Based
I have so thoroughly enjoyed the reactions I get from little Korean kids when I wear any kind of camo, especially when its not OCP
But you have to be over 18 to post here.
So cute *_*;;
Thanks!
Never anything common/in service that isn’t dyed. Only ever one piece in the fit. Get compliments from normies and fitties on it so seems to work for me.
Never camo trousers tho unless innawoods and never camo on the range. Also take off rank tabs/flags to avoid larpcore.
What's wrong with flags, especially if they're sewn on?
"Flags" are the source and reason begind more murders of the human race than Religion, which is saying alot...
Oh ok, so you are a total homosexual and I can disregard you. Thanks for clarifying.
>yeah b.because flags don't kill people
>p.people kill people
Dork.
Wrong. I kill people.
Yes, very scary. Oh, and give me my 5 min back or I'll kill you, too.
Post camo and firearm
actual baby boomer
Wearing Mossy Oak High Country pants at work and and day today. The cut is comfy and makes my ass look great.
I wear muted jungle tiger stripe camo pants for camo Fridays at work and occasionally when I don't want to take my belt out and suspenders off when I go to the store
Not really, i'll use my wet weather top whenever it rains though since its always in my car
Military surplus or regular clothes?
Military surplus preferably
I don't trust eBay much admittedly
Ebay is fine. I ordered some MCCUUs on there. The only issue you have to face with ebay is finding sellers that can sell at a reasonable price. But its good enough to be like a flea market for military surplus.
Have you tried look into ebay? Ebay do have alot of surplus shit for sale on multiple sizes.
Flags on or off?
On. Germs frens.
>Also does British DPM make me look like an autist y/n
No. Being an autist makes you look like an autist.
Nah, even if it does, doubt people will care unless you're pretty vocal about the shit you wear.
People who wear camo in public:
Wannabes
Neverserveds
Vets who never saw action
Homeless drug users sympathy stacking
Literal homosexuals
And rednecks keeping Realtree afloat.
>don't do what I don't like
gay.
