>buy k31 over 2 years ago
>still haven't shot it once
is this normal? I would love to shoot it but ammo is almost impossible to find.

>buy rifle with rare ammo type that will cost a massive cpr and you will never find retail
>don't get any reloading set up so you can actually shoot it
I swear some milsurp gays are fricking subhuman
im not a milsurp gay you fricking israelite. I bought it because im autistic and like the straight pull design
>See: Mike B.
>pay 1.45cpr to shoot shitty obselete rifle
do surp stans really
Is there any .30 cal ammo for milsurp rifles that isn't in the range of $1.5/rd that isn't 7.62x54R?
PPU .30-06
308, 30-06, sometimes 8mm mauser, I think .303 is also still cheap but I haven't looked in a while.
They are all cheap if you would just drop $500 on a basic reloading set up, hell some are even cheaper.
>never find retail
Literally sold on the shelves at Cabelas, you dimwit.
Did the same but with the 1911 long boy.
Finding GP11 wasn't even an issue a few years ago but now I can't even find any 7.5 anymore and that fricking sucks since it's one of my absolute favorite guns
Get it out and shoot it, anon, PPU puts out ammo for it, it's not GP11 but the FMJ is not bad.
Is this bench accuracy?
Prone
>won't buy ammo
>won't make ammo
As the good Lord said: "There's just no pleasing some people".
It's 50 cpr and plentiful in Switzerland
Go shoot it
>is this normal? I would love to shoot it but ammo is almost impossible to find.
Maybe you should have thought about it before buying it op. The K31 is a splendid and not so expensive rifle but ammo has always been a pain in the ass.
its still a cool gun to have homie
Based Simspons enjoyer
Jesus I type like an ESL
I got the 96/11 long boi. I bought some GP11 off fuddbroker for $1.70/rnd. Not much more than the PPU stuff.
>be me
>buy k31 4 years ago
>haven't shot it
What a gay. I shot my Swiss 96/11 within a month or two of buying mine. Finding PPU 7.5x55mm is pretty damn easy online. I have one LGS in my area that stocks PPU ammo in all sort of rare calibers regularly. Perhaps I'm just spoiled.
Outdoor Ltd has boxes of PPU for $29. Spend $200, get free shipping. So you buy 3 or 4 boxes of Swiss, get some 9 or 556 for the other guns I'm hoping you have, and you hit the range. Easy.
Wait, did I just reply to a bait thread? OP is on the Chans, so obviously he knows the internet exists. And he claims to own a surp rifle, so he has to know about Ammoseek. Shit, I fell for it.
>buy k31 2 weeks ago
>still haven't shot it once
Waiting for the local stores to get their next shipment of 7.5. Hopefully it's the S&B 7.5 boxes of 50 rds. A bit cheaper than the PPU.
I've never tried S&B 7.5x55mm, but my Swedish M96 Mauser seemed to hate S&B whereas it loved PPU. The difference in grouping sizes between the two ammo brands was very noticeable.
Yeah I found the same
I recognize those toes
I bought a Remington 1858 3 years ago that I haven't fired yet because every time someone shits out a few percussion caps boomers buy them up
look under the butt plate
Unless you are a euro/Canadian 7.5x55 is easy as frick to find online and if you haven't I assume you are a moron.
>Euro cartridge
>somehow unobtainium in Europe
Uhh no. But 99% of PPU milsurp cartridges seem to get shipped right over to the US, most 7.5x55 you see here is S&B
euro here, 7.5x55 was pretty much the only caliber that wasn't affected by the sudden price increase after the Ukrainian war and it's still available everywhere
>also
GP11>>>>PPU = S&B
too bad about the horrid price of GP11
What kind of stock is that?
Walnut hunting stock. I didn't like how low the original was.
I still have three or four packs of GP11 I bought last year but they were twice as expensive as S&B and I honestly can't recommend it for that price, especially when reloading will give you overall better results. I haven't seen PPU anywhere though
Good luck finding GP11 anywhere. I can't find shit that isn't PPU. I can't even find S&B either.
i bought a krag almost 2 years ago
its worse
Is that yours, anon?
I want a k31 and have been looking at a few for a couple weeks now. Are the diopter sights really worth spending another $600 for? That seems kinda crazy.
Honestly, anon, you probably already know the answer, because it's pretty much dependent on you. This
is mine and the target below is shot through diopters, I'm about a 3MOA shooter with the standard irons, but that's me; there's other people that can shoot them over standard sights better than I can shoot diopters. The ones usually found on the Swiss guns are very nicely made, the ones you can buy new from Swiss Products are apparently excellent but I am yet to try a pair. They aren't a be-all or end-all thing and there's certainly nothing that stops you buying a rifle now and getting a set later - the older Swiss type aren't matched to the rifle in any way.
I bought the diopter set for 400€ but after trying both I prefer shooting mine
with irons
I have a K31 and no mag. Please someone link cheap mag. Am a fricking moron; have seen some before but shipping brings it to like $70-80 IIRC. Gun is nice though.
>but ammo is almost impossible to find.
no it's not
ammo that's sold for a price you think you deserve to pay, is hard to find, because everybody thinks they deserve top dollar shit for the pennies they're willing to part with
ammo is plentiful, you just can't afford it
PPU is definitely plentiful, but where are you finding GP11 at all?
>why is a finite supply with an increased demand getting more expensive?
places you can't afford, it seems
When did I mention price, you knuckle dragging moron? Honestly, if I could find GP11 anywhere, I'll buy it regardless of the price.
I go to a Swiss army range
cons:
-only Swiss service weapons allowed (G11, K11, K31, Stgw 57, Stg 90)
-you can't bring your own ammunition
pros:
-300 meters
-electronic targets
-access is free
-50 cpr GP11
I bought one 5(?) years ago and bought a crap ton of gp-11 while I could. Not sure what I'll do when I run out but thats a bridge I'll cross when I get to it.
Imagine not reloading
>is this normal
I didnt shoot mine till almost a year after I bought it. Glad I finally did though because it's a fricking laser beam
Alright bro’s I’m gonna buy one. Sadly none have great stocks but from everything I’ve read that is very common. Finding one with a mint stock is super rare. I love shooting surp and want something accurate, and this is a good excuse to start reloading my own brass.
>Finding one with a mint stock is super rare.
They do exist though
>buy never fired, never even issued K31
>empty boomer LGS’ supply of GP11
>crank off two mags to get a feel, save brass for reloading
>check ammoseek and see PPU 7.5 for cheaper CPR than .30-06
Not a bad day, anons. Not a bad day.
damn is that your car bro?
what? buy the ammo online then
you can get PPU ammo for like $25 a box
