Brazilian hardwood identification

This is a new cic manufactured rossi r92 stock.
Brazilian hardwood is all that Rossi will say it is. But I really need to know exactly which species it is.
Can anyone guess?

Says Brazilian hardwood but looks a lot like beech. Tons and tons of cheap gunstocks are beech. Therefore, perhaps beech hardwood shaped in Brazil.

My first thought as well, that end grain looks an awful lot like beech. It was stained or burned to look darker but the medullary rays in appear very beech-y to me

    Why? Also; ask the manufacturer.

      Manufacturer refuses to tell
And because I am curious about the wood species physical properties
And how it compares to American gunstock woods

        >Manufacturer refuses to tell
Then you shouldn't buy from them.

Quality gun at half the price of competitors. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
But I am stumped as to where to ask for this information. PrepHole was the first place I trusted to have an answer

            >won't even tell you what cheapass crap the stock is made from
            >quality
Sure thing buddy, enjoy your pot metal gun

I've had good luck with Rossi guns.

Did you try googling something to the effect of "least expensive Brazilian hardwood"? Possibly "most plentiful Brazilian hardwood"?

they don't wanna tell you it's from a rainforest

That’s my feeling. They don’t want to admit what they’re using because of import restrictions.

Yes I’ve tried common Brazilian hardwoods and attempted identification
          Failed of course.

That's not what "really need to know" means, anon.
I get the feeling you're an emotionally exhausting person to be around.

Preys sure that's Yellow Garambuko aka False Jungle Pine, which is really a misnomer because it's a variety of locust. Other names are Maraguano, Chipi-Chipi and Pongolele, which in the indigenous dialect of its growing region translates to "dildo wood".

I thank you for your suggestions. However I can’t find any info through google by those names.

To me, it looks like macaco soapwood (known in Portuguese as sopa de macaco). It's a species of wood native to the Amazon jungle
