brain slowing down?

can you feel your brain slowing down when you do DIY or tradie stuff? And if you are doing it for several hours eventually you get to the point where your mind isn't really generating thoughts any more unless you force it to?

No, do you feel yours slow down when you spend 14 hours a day in front of a light up computer copy and pasting lines from GitHub?
    >(if you ask nicely we'll tell you how to fix your shitty DIY "repair" that you attempted

Rote, repetitive work has a dulling effect on creativity and ingrains the habit of mental passivity. Doesn't matter if it's a work done at a computer screen or in a workshop or factory

Can't be avoided in some degree, but it should be minimized
    >inb4 work always builds character
There's a reason we use every mechanical advantage available rather than eg having road workers dig ditches with a spoon

It's the opposite. Usually I'm just making connections and trying to figure out what my next move will be. That's why I get druk every night, so I can slow my brain down after it's been going a million miles an hour all day.

that being said ive still got a soft spot for step7. i mean frick siemens right in the shitter, but control logix + siemens vfd is max comfy. g120 btfo's powerflex any day of the week. frick all that keying mismatch bullshit

I am B&R or Omron + ABB drives savant. Siemens and Rockwell cost most for least features.

Still you need to let your 30k control logix breathe and give it more free space above and below.

no, what you says is not possible.

if anything I am constantly thinking, either about what I am doing, or things that need to be done.

Exact opposite actually. While doing boring repetitive work I hit a point where I'm almost auto-piloting my physical activity while my mind wanders/daydreams/problem solves etc

This. I find some repetitive work nice for those days when i'm not feeling 100%. Don't have to analyze anything or think about the task at hand too hard. Then i can plan or daydream about other stuff that needs to be done.
