Not that it matters anyway since this is just a shitty slide thread and you don't actually own an AK
It’s just a bunch of this crap and there’s a few spots that look worse but it’s still lube-y and shoots great but yeah can u tell what I’m talking about?
Spray with Kroil, scrub it with a stiff toothbrush/nylon brush, and wipe it down with oil. I'm going to go out on a limb and say your storage practices are not good at all. Don't keep it in anything without a large desiccant packet. Foam in cases will pull oil off of the finish as well.
I mean yeah, you're in Arizona and it's brand new? That's pretty fricked anon. Honestly, if you're planning on keeping it, just give it a camo spray paint job like picrel (or that best suits your location) and be done with it. Otherwise I'd clean it up as best you can and trade it in for something else. That's ridiculous

Its relatively new, i bought it brand new i wanna say around 4 months ago? so yeah not terribly used or old so yeah this shit is fricked. but i love it, i mean what do u think id get for a trade in? i paid 800 for this.

They can be found for $680 online, and it's a niche gun that a store knows is going to sit on the shelf for a while compared to other guns. They're also going to leave enough meat on the bone for a profit obviously which drives your trade in down even lower. I doubt you're going to get an offer you'd be okay with taking unless youre fine throwing money away after owning it for only 4 months. Selling it privately would net you a bigger return, but that will take time, and again it's pretty niche so the costumer base will be small, meaning your listing will sit for a while. I'd look into getting it warrantied first and foremost, if that doesn't go your way, you can see what you could get trade in value wise, but you'll 100% lose money on it unfortunately. Go the warranty route first

>Go the warranty route first
warranty on an ak for rust
hahahahaha
>paint rust
Uh no, paint is supposed to prevent rust by sealing the surface of the metal but obviously most paints wear off easily. If there wasn't a thick enough layer of paint to begin with, or your blueing is shit, it's got nothing protecting the metal. You have to repaint or refinish it. At that point I'd go for a ceramic coat, Duracoat is the easiest.
AK's are engineered to be at least 15% rusted at all times. It's called reverse-lubroxidity, the particulate tangent emulsifies the carbon nano-baxters, permitting frangible demarcation. For more info google "how to kill myself".
It’s just a bunch of this crap and there’s a few spots that look worse but it’s still lube-y and shoots great but yeah can u tell what I’m talking about?
how was it stored and what kinda climate? that is some shit though, the finish shouldn't rust like that regardless. From what I see you should be fine with a bit of WD-40 and a good scrub. If that won't get rid of it you'll need an actual rust remover like CLR but anything like that will affect the finish if it sits too long. I would try it on a less noticable spot and see if it starts to burn the finish. To be honest though that parkerizing is fricked if it rusted this soon, If you can you should cerakote it.
I store it in the original box it came in, it has these foam pads and i keep it in my trunk sometimes in my room, i live in arizona so it gets hot and cold but rn its hot season so.
Lmao I told a guy from Arizona to keep his gun out of the foam shit box and he boasted about being from Arizona. OP those foam pads suck and humidity still exists everywhere, even at the lowest levels there is still water in the air, why is this hard for people to understand (not directing that at you specifically). Get some clp and get to rubbing, it should mostly come off eventually.
You're storing someplace where moisture is an issue. It's too close to your bathroom. Typical of Arizona, you likely keep your AC cranked up and you take long hot ass showers. You obviously don't have proper venting of your bathroom close to wherever that weapon is.. So you have that rifle at let's say 67°F.. Your showers are let's say 113°F, so your bathroom gets to 95°F at 100% humidity. You open up your bathroom and a mass of Louisiana swamp air in early August flys into your bedroom where that 67°F rifle is sitting.. And THAT'S how you get rust like that in AriFrickingZona. Take it to a good gunsmith and see about getting it properly parkerized. They'll get the rust off and get it properly protected. Follow their advice on proper care. Then get a fricking exhaust vent for your bathroom.. Is there mold on your bathroom ceiling?
This stuff is GREAT but the smell of it tells you it's pretty toxic, occupational exposure would be a problem but occasional use should be fine. I run a patch of this stuff through all my non-CHF barrels before storage.
Ok fine anon I'll rip the bandaid off and tell you what none of these pussies will:
Pioneer Arms AKs are dogshit. You bought a dogshit gun. If you shoot it at a moderate schedule it will start to fall apart and the finish is clearly fricking terrible.
Clean the rust off, get it looking presentable, sell it to some poor frick just like yourself who can't be bothered to google what AKs are good and bad, then buy a Zastava ZPAP92. I'd recommend that you buy a Draco but based on this thread in 4 months you'd probably be posting a VSKA pistol asking why it's having out of battery detonations and is it normal to be constantly finding metal shavings in your receiver.
I actually do own a ZPAP and it shoots better than the hellpup, the spring or whatever is so good it feels like there’s no recoil it takes the blow back very well if it had a stock it’d be cheffs kiss
people like you should never be able to own a gun. let me guess, you've never owned a gun prior to 2020? and you buy a Black person gun too. fricking morons who can't maintain anything.
If you actually like it pay a store to cerakote it down the line. You could spray paint it yourself as a cheaper route, prep it good first. You overpaid and it'll sell for shit. Check gundeals dot com before buying things and find an FFL with cheap transfer fees. I bought a gun $200 cheaper than the store I do transfers too it's ridiculous what gun stores charge
I bought all my guns from stores so,
Yeah I agree, I wont lie I just recently got into shooting guns and I just got the gun fever and bought these without thinking carefully, you know. And so I will definitely try to buy em online from now on or at least just dont buy it straight away first.
Definitely check gun deals dot com for price checks. Like if the gun store is within $100 it can be worth getting the thing you want right away, shipping and FFL fee is always a factor too. But I was looking at a CZ-P10S and my local store had it for $550 and it was $350 online. Frick that shit man. Since you're new I'd also add that we're in the best times to get into AR-15's and for whatever reason you can get lots of really good 9mms for cheap. Stack those now if they interest you. The CZ P10 line is cheap as well as Steyr pistols. Like $350 cheap for what should be $600.
I actually do own a ZPAP and it shoots better than the hellpup, the spring or whatever is so good it feels like there’s no recoil it takes the blow back very well if it had a stock it’d be cheffs kiss
sorry for boomerposting, I couldn't help myself. 7.62x39 would be a better choice for that barrel length, but I won't knock you for buying a Zastava, I like my M70. Seriously though, sell that hellpup. Pioneers are garbage, you couldn't give me one. Clean and oil your guns after you shoot them, and for God's sake listen to what

I work in a body shop. Would I clean my guns less if I paint them with automotive paint? No crazy color just black. Scuff, primer, sealer base coat and urethane clear.
clean the goddamn rust.
then either go shoot the damn thing, or sell it and put the money towards something you will use
clean it how? i have some ar015 cleaning stuff in a can i got at a gun shop and a pistol cleaning kit.
and i do use it i just am broke

My friend said it was just paint rust or something and if i clean it it will be fine?
>if i clean it it will be fine?
probably, but I can't magically see the condition of your gun unless you post pics of it.
>clean it how?
how bad is the rust and where is it? pics would be very helpful.
1 sec

I keep it in the box it came in, its brand new relatively speaking. And do u think it looks bad rn
? why is it so rusty?

warranty on an ak for rust
hahahahaha
>keep it in the box it came in
>encased in foam
well there's your problem
Bravo, that finish is shittier than the parkerizing on my old Aussie L1A1 and that's saying something
rust blueing
>paint rust
Uh no, paint is supposed to prevent rust by sealing the surface of the metal but obviously most paints wear off easily. You need smarter friends. And so do they.
AK's are engineered to be at least 15% rusted at all times. It's called reverse-lubroxidity, the particulate tangent emulsifies the carbon nano-baxters, permitting frangible demarcation. For more info google "how to kill myself".
Suck me dick hole
as i said, my friend told me its from the paint coating. is that true?
and that its just surface level NOW, but if i dont clean it obviously it will break, is what my cousin told me true
Finger your urethra.
F u
Another pic

guns should never rust in arizona. people have shot mosins with surplus for years there and never gotten rust
So wtf? I did read literally right after I bought it, that hellpups are known for rusting. but i didnt want to beieve that obviously. WTF man
>it has these foam pads
that would do it foam holds moisture
oh shit and u know what? i was storing it in my car the whole winter season while it was raining n shit. THAT MUST HAVE DONE THIS. FRICK. WHAT DO I DO
you live with it, its a pathetic amount of surface rust on a fricking ak
gun is fine
okay cool, my cousin said it was surface level but shit man i guess throw out the foam pads then?
oil the foam if you want to keep using the foam box as storage
Excess oil is just going to attract contamination.
New foam and probably a better guncase. Google that shit. I'm done spoonfeeding. Clean your fricking gun please.
Bruh throw out the fricking foam, replace it and oil your gun, if you don't do this then your gun deserves to fricking rust.
okay
replace the foam? well whats the best way to store a gun? cuz apparently foam is bad
Lmao I told a guy from Arizona to keep his gun out of the foam shit box and he boasted about being from Arizona. u guys are gay jerks.
HELP ME OUT
Will this work? i have this exact thing.

Sell the shartpup and use the money to SBR the ZPAP
SBR? its already pretty short?
Wym?
SBRs are stupid for a lot of people, don't forget there are additional rules that DaddyATF puts on them, not just a $200 price tag.
Just spray paint it and don’t store it with the foam pads
people like you should never be able to own a gun. let me guess, you've never owned a gun prior to 2020? and you buy a Black person gun too. fricking morons who can't maintain anything.
Geez why are you so mad? You think your perfect?

Yeah I hate it when people earn a living. Frick stores and the community.
Frick ya mudda
And frick you in the ass. You sound like a helpless pipsqueak.
Bro you dont do anything you just say frick ya mudda in every thread.
Sounds like ya mudda didn't do anything with you after she had you.
Wheres your mom?
Congratulating me after I frick ya mudda
Put a drum mag on it and shoot it sideways like a Black person
more drum mags for me then
clean your fricking guns
Oh shit I forgot, I never store my guns in those foam padded cases it's always caused rust issues for me.
C.B.T NOW! Do it before it gets worse
Spray paint it with rustoleum.
Thank you for your replies
sell that pos to another clueless idiot, and buy a cugir-made draco. NOT a century MADE draco, and century IMPORTED draco made by CUGIR IN ROMANIA.
