Every manufacturer in the past five years have talked about bolt bounce this bolt bounce that. The latest one that I know of is Q and Desert Tech.

if you don't have a fun switch it doesn't fricking matter
This
A semiautomatic AR can't fire out of battery due to the design
But it can fail to fire because the bolt bounced out of battery, which, while better than firing out of battery, is nonetheless not as good as firing in battery.
how many times has this happened to you, go ahead and make up a number
Then just use the forward assist to bump it back into battery.
lol that's such bullshit. You most def can get bolt bounce not using the right gas setup with proper buffer/spring.
My gun does it, which is kind of annoying. 14.5, mid-length gas, carbine buffer weight and spring.
Anyways, I can't shoot fast enough for it to matter, but I also don't like the way it feels to shoot, plus I feel as though it'd fail to cycle if it got dirty
Cant this be solved by tuning your rifle? Stronger buffer spring/ turning down the gas?
yes
Well I don't have an adjustable gas block, so all I can really do is play with buffer weights.
That said, the rifle will also fail to cycle if its not firmly braced against my shoulder, so a heavier buffer (which would reduce bounce) would likely exacerbate that problem.
Though, that could just be ammo related since 99% of what I shoot is just PMC .223 instead of something a little hotter like M193 / M855 or something
a stronger buffer spring won't do what most people think it will. It's important to have a spring that's not worn out to avoid reliability issues, but stiffer springs don't cure problems. The internet evangelism over the springco green spring doesn't do shit, it's a good spring and a fine recommendation for a known quality part but it doesn't change how the gun works. Being a decent part means it will probably last the expected interval, unlike $3 buffer springs.
The AR shouldn't care if it's braced against your shoulder or not, gas pressure cycles the action regardless of what you might call "limp-wristing". If it was an inertia system like a Benelli shotgun, sure, but it sounds like you need to do some troubleshooting. A heavier buffer is a common cure for a surprising number of AR problems. Have you taken any 240 fps phone video of your ejection port to see if you really do have bolt bounce? Because it's not something most people can feel.
>carbine buffer
Up the weight of the buffer.
he has a mid length with .556, a heavier buffer will do the opposite of what you think. He needs a heavier spring, or a lighter buffer. or go back to a carbine gas barrel.
>anon 1 says he has bolt bounce
>anon 2 recommends a lighter buffer

as serious as your mom bouncin on muh dick.
Clean your shit gay
Why did you just call me a fine American guy?
A5 buffer system will fix any bolt bounce, not that it matters for semi-auto. I don't like A5 because it makes cycling feel extra slow.
Everyone is talking about “bolt bounce this and buffer spring that” I just want to grill for Pete’s sake!
