So not to beat a dead horse, but this confirms you're just going with the original cyan as the blue option and aren't going to offer a (What did you call it? Saphire?) darker blue option?

Are you not familiar with the cyberpunk genre at all? Our company’s name “Neon Forest Industries” is inspired by a line in one of the sprawl trilogy books by Gibson. The cyberpunk genre in general was inspired by the technology boom in Japan in the 80s. The kanji in the logo is literally “Forest” in a glowing, neon red
What's your manufacturing process? Still acrylic resin in vacuum chamber?
If I send you a pair of these grips could you make me copies?

I know, I was going to add that this is not for commercial sale - I just want a copy since it in profile is really close to the blade runner grips. It was what you used to do
If you’re interested, it’s *relatively* easy to make a pressure chamber out of a harbor freight paint pot, some tubes, and an air compressor.

My VIS-35’s Portman grips are cracked where they’re screwed in. Would be funny to slap some blade runner nonsense on a nickel plated bring back.

It seems like the grip attachment is relatively similar to the LCR, but again, that would require modeling a new interior for the grip and more testing. We’re focused on releasing the LCR grip first and we will go from there.

You're crazy.
We feel that the price point is competitive with similar other LCR grips on the market. Compared to the other translucent resin grips for sale, ours have much higher clarity and strength. Wow, clear actually does look kinda good...
But I just can't help but worry over time it'd yellow or get a little cloudy due to oils seeping in, whereas the other colors wouldn't noticeable degrade in that way.
NGL this is my favorite aesthetic. If I had the bubba skills I'd get a 10mm Hi Point Problem Solver just so I could rig the chunkiest holosight I could find to the top. Or if M3A1 kits were affordable I'd get one and stick a Terminator 1 style lazor tube on it
Frick that would be cool…. The only way to improve that gun is to make it more crazy. It’s all or nothing…. Also clear with an inset yellow thunderbolt would be fricking amazing.
In fact they’re on the third generation. Still not accurate but I like the draw and aesthetic.
Frick I wish they would sell this in .22lr. They even have Federal, CCI, and Winchester all releasing .22lr self defense loadings to justify it now.
Agreed.
Frick that would be cool…. The only way to improve that gun is to make it more crazy. It’s all or nothing…. Also clear with an inset yellow thunderbolt would be fricking amazing.
Slots to put in your own cheap Chinese tritium. Like a radioactive night bright but glowing iridescently through resin.
Common op I’ll get the range trap to suck your wiener.
so they will feel like shit then. Hows the durability when dropped from a loaded gun will they crack and shatter to shit? Dont worry its a rethorical question
We’ve tested the design to make sure it’s comfortable and secure in the hand. Even without stippling it feels very secure. As far as durability goes, the resin has held up to 400+ rounds of 38 special without any issues and is more than durable enough to handle normal use
Not him but have you tested the design with sweaty hands? Lots of grips feel nice until you're out at the range and your palms get sweaty and the gun slips in your grip due to sweat.
just curious, how long does it take to go from conception to delivery?
i remember seeing these a while ago, but now you're offering them "soon", what was eating time?
Well from the “original” pink grip, we did durability testing, and then made some modifications to the design to make it more ergonomic. Next we started working on the stippling design, which presented some challenges, and we updated and integrated our logo into the grips.
Now all we have left to do is some final testing on the stippled grips and we will be ready to ship
Good to see you making progress. The only gripe I have is that the LCR isn't a crazy-popular gun like a glock or ar, because I want you to be successful. I'm not trying to make you doubt your decision, but (as dumb as it sounds) I'd buy a blade runner grip for an AR. I think at least a few morons will be buying an LCR over this grip though. I wish they came in barrels even longer than the x model offers, the barrel isn't really the issue in concealment as much as the cylinder and grip, but I get they do it for the draw.
Looks cool, my only concern is breakage, is that common for things like this? What are they made out of?
https://i.imgur.com/Dz5IUsW.jpg
I think they look similar, like if Deckard’s gun had a snubby version. Either way it would be easy enough to design a little “foot” for it
As for other transparent amber grips being sold for the LCR, I was the first one to make them 5 years ago. The only other person who started making them seems to have stopped, but see above for quality comparisons between our grips and our competitors
Is there anything I can follow you guys on OP? I've been lusting after a set since way back when that original anon posted pictures of his ghetto ass vacuum chamber, very excited that you guys have this almost done.

Congrats on getting this far man.
Will you eventually make more opaque grips? I’d jump on a set if you did.
Deckard’s weren’t completely see-through.
Count Zero any good? I just bought it and I really liked Neuromancer.
We might make more opaque grips eventually, but right now we are sticking to the translucent versions.

Is this true? Which S&W model would be the easiest to acquire? If they do all share the same grip base, then that might just be our next firearm to make a grip for
10 months ago

First you have to decide if you're going to do separate grips for round and square grip frames. You could design the square butt grip frame and then do a slightly altered internal profile version to "convert" the round butt grip to the same external dimensions as the square butt grip. Whatever you did you'd need both square and round butt guns for modeling/fitting/testing.
Cheapest would probably still be the model 10 even though prices are way up since 2020 panic. You're probably gonna pay a premium for a round butt in any barrel length but 2". Here's some current "buy it now" sales on gunbroker but you can get lucky with these in local shops sometimes too especially if you don't care about finish wear and overall condition since you mainly want it for making a grip.
And they did make square butt snubs but they're not as common as round butt.

If you're looking at potential sales there are probably more square butts in circulation than round but if you were wanting to target just the snubby guys round would be the way to go. That's why to me it makes sense to start out making one larger grip for the square butt and a modified version to convert the round. Then later you can add a specific smaller(or different design) for just the round. That way you get both square and round sales off the bat and then you can double dip the round butt customers with a round specific design later.

K/L frame round butt is the most common. All modern ones are basically that shape since it’s easy to make round butts square - not the other way around

I'd really like to see the numbers on how many total round butts have been made since this because the case vs the total production numbers of square butts prior to this change. There were over 6 million(oy gevalt) Model 10's made in the 20th century and the vast majority of those were square butt and that's just one model.

Geeze bro. I remember your first threads with the bubble-filled grips you fished out of your basement vacuum chamber (assuming you're the same anon). Very cool to see how much progress you've made.
It was in a cyberpunk thread here and we were thinking of what the most cyberpunk real gun would be and I made some abomination in photoshop and made that abomination a reality
I think I made a post on PrepHole asking about resin casting once I ran into issues with bubbles. I doubt there are that many people making sketchy pressure chambers for resin casting
your grips look nothing like that though. maybe you should have added the metal base? they sell LCR amber transparent grips online for like $20 every once in a while, you could have made these stand out
I think they look similar, like if Deckard’s gun had a snubby version. Either way it would be easy enough to design a little “foot” for it
As for other transparent amber grips being sold for the LCR, I was the first one to make them 5 years ago. The only other person who started making them seems to have stopped, but see above for quality comparisons between our grips and our competitors
Any chance that there might be other colors down the line. I know the pink didn’t make the cut during the poll you posted a little while ago, but I love the way they look in the testing pics.
I can't believe how far this project has come. Feels like it's been a decade in the making and I always click the threads despite not even owning a wheelgat. Is the LCR even a nice pistol? .38spl seems so out of date at this point.
One of these would look pretty nice on a chiappa though.
I always thought Magnum calibers were absolutely goofy in a one pound gun. Like, even in my 27 ounce king Cobra they're manageable, but they're not pleasant. In something like an LCR or even worse a 340 it's downright comical.
You can get a smaller OAL and thinner profile since you don't need the extra reinforcement. If you're gonna get a small revolver I'd get a dedicated .38 over something like a .357
You can still rip ass with hot loads from BB or underwood that'll push 9mm+p/light .357 ft/lbs if you really feel like you need to, but I don't enjoy shooting .357 in anything smaller than my python. And it's impractical in anything smaller than my king Cobra.
The reason I went with the .38 is because it has the cooler looking fluting on the cylinder, and because the .357 cylinder release is a lot stiffer so it doesn't pop open under the heavy recoil. It's also a couple ounces lighter, but I'm not going to pretend that I care about that.
Anonymous
Yeah, I went 38, too.
I just don't want to have to deal with moonclips, bullet creep, and is it true you can't reload one by one with them? I have never used a gun that required moonclips.
Anonymous
Only the 9mm requires moon clips. I just didn't like how I had to break my grip to shove the cylinder release into the gun on any of the models that weren't the .38. For the 9mm model, I don't get why anyone would buy a revolver that requires moon clips. My favorite part of a revolver is that I can take loose cartridges and load them, but moon clips bring the most annoying part of a semi auto to a revolver with no positives outside of controlled competition.
The MSRP will be $79.99 for the normal grip in amber and clear colorations (stippled and non stippled), and a little more for the other color options and fluorescence
>Any word on the glow in the dark stuff? Can the amber be made to glow even just slightly?

Unfortunately they will only be fluorescent under black light, but will not retain the glow. It’s something we are looking into though, because it would be cool
There's different colors of glow powder. Orange powder that glows orange/yellow glows and white/clear powder that glows orange exists. Would it cloud the clear grip resin? Who knows. But this also depends on whether you're pouring resin in a mold or printing them on a resin printer (hopefully it's not the latter for the sake of the ability to make them glow).
Bringing a whole new meaning to "Glowies"

Not OP but resin is fricking expensive. Considering he has to also cover costs of dicking around with new molds, test casts, having a website, etc. it really isn't too nuts. Every time I watch a resin YouTube channel I'm blown away at how much these guys spend on single resin pours that seem tiny. $80 may be a little bit high, sure, but if I had an LCR I can't say I wouldn't be very tempted. They're in-between cheap rubber grips and nice wood grips in price which is about where I'd expect them to be.
>$80 may be a little bit high
Whittle a grip set from endangered rainforest exotics and cost your time and materials. We live in the apex of consumerism.
My MR-73's factory wood grips go for $175-$250 depending on condition and the seller. Good shit just be that way. I think it was an extra $200 when I ordered them in 2017 or so.
Do you know anywhere I can pick up a set of stock MR73 grips? Only place I've found is French auction websites, but I'm wondering if there's somewhere easier.
Anonymous
Only other place I can think of is maybe Gunbroker. I bought my MR73 with wood grips but I kinda want a set of Frenchie rubber grips to actually go shoot with sometimes. Can't find them. Even Beretta doesn't stock them at all, it's so weird how difficult parts are to find with the MR73. Then again, when I ordered mine (pre-Beretta) the guy that was doing literally ALL of the MR73 imports said only 100 are allocated for the US per year. Not a big market out there, at least back then.
Holy shit gun boomers are the cheapest c**ts on the face of the earth.
It's a neat project by /k/ommandos, they're probably too cheap at $79.99 for all the effort these guys have put in.
I do want the metal base though. I'll pay a lot more if they'll make me one that has it.
How is that plastic to work with as far as cutting and sanding it goes? I've gotten to be a fan of the boot grip on my LCR and yours looks a bit long for my preferences. Obviously getting it that clear again after sanding it will take a lot of work, but I want to make sure that it's not going to crack or splinter in an unexpected manner if I try to cut it down shorter.
The material should be fine as far as sanding it down goes, but our design will have a negative space inside for our logo which will probably cause some issues with sanding

Take heed, dear ad buyer. The logo will add nothing to your biz but it could lose you customers. Your advertising at the range will all be word of mouth and your customers know where you are.
We put hundreds of rounds through our prototype with only minor abrasions inside the grip where it was rubbing up against the gun, but even that was addressed when we updated the design. If you’re talking about major white discoloration from stress, like on a piece of plastic, then no

Then people b***hed about crashing Chargers on Dukes of Hazzard. There will ALWAYS be a b***h. Now people are b***hing it has the Stars and Bars on the roof. What planet is this?
>I know these aren't Bladerrunnergripgay's but it's a nice pic
I plan on getting an LCRx of some sort once these grips go live. That said, are the 9mm LCRs good? I'd like to avoid having to stock multiple calibers and I have family that reloads 9mm. >are moon clips a pain in the ass? >is 9mm worse to shoot from a snubby polymer wheelgun? >are 38/357 loads really more versatile than handloads of 9mm?
I fricking hate it, very uncomfortable to shoot for me and I can’t hit shit with it - it groups 1foot high 6 inches left minute of man. Get the LCRx, frick DAO wheel guns, the LCRx has better sights. I find 9mm to be very snappy when .38 special isn’t, if I was going to have a snappy cartridge I’d rather have full .357 magnum on tap rather than 9mm. Other people have had other experiences and called me weak wrist or b***h hands
The moon clips are perhaps the best moonclips on the market for practicality, they’re tool-less and can be loaded and unloaded by hand. My smith moonclips use a tool.
Thinking about replacing with a LCRx 357, but I already have a s&w 586L comp (7 shot ported 3 inch) which should be the ultimate carry revolver but it’s pretty heavy. The triggers on the LCR are pretty damn nice.
I have a relatively new LCR (~150 rounds) and am also hitting about 1+ foot high at 25 meters.
During dry fire I've come to realise that I tend to twist it upwards when squeezing the trigger
>I fricking hate it, very uncomfortable to shoot for me and I can’t hit shit with it - it groups 1foot high 6 inches left minute of man.
What the frick dude? That's awful.
I don't think you need to have ammo stocked up for niche carry revolver. It's a 5 shot gun with an extremely slow reload. If you've got a few boxes of ammo for it I'd say that you're good.
I say that because the 9mm LCR sucks. It's way too light for 9mm and yes, moon clips suck too. I think the 22lr is perfectly fine for an uber lightweight carry gun and 8 shots is a nice touch.
If you must have a center fire round then the .357 version is pretty good. 4oz heavier than the 38 only version helps to soak up recoil when loaded with .38s.
If you're a gigachad with mucho money's the .327 is king.
Black Widow is the shorter barrel version. Mini Master is the 4" one. Pic related, Mini Master, Black Widow, Pug from left to right. Same frames and cylinders and everything, different barrel lengths.
they once made a batch of 500 for Canada in 4.25", and then a few batches of 500 of the other long-barreled ones (since leafs are gay and need to own handguns above 4.16" to be legal), and I bought one from a leaf just for the novelty.

Is the Lasermax module compatible with the 3” model of the LCRx? I know that might be a moronic question, but I can’t find any pictures of this configuration online. If it dose work (and assuming the Lasermax is good), then I want this configuration too!
I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be. The Lasermax module clamps around the trigger guard and an extended crane screw, and none of the features in that area of the gun seem to be changed from the 2" to the 3" model.

Ruger is getting too big for their britches. If they’re going to charge a premium they better be offering premium quality.
Maybe they realized that they are the only people offering any quality products in certain segments and decided to run with that. The Marlins aren't forgivable, but polymer-frame revolvers are only available between Ruger and Taurus, and the Taurus model looks like a cheap toy. As for the LCR, it's arguably better than any J frame in the same price range. It has a full rubber grip so it's nicer to shoot, a changeable front sight, and a good trigger. For the Blackhawk, $900 is a lot more than it used to cost, but who else is offering a single action revolver that can take stout loads with an extra cylinder? It's a weird situation because Ruger continues to offer really cheap and functional guns like the LCP and the Security 9, but some other guns are getting pricey beyond where they're worth it. The SP101 and GP100 are great examples of that. Maybe Ruger thinks they're going to take S&Ws place with their revolver quality dropping over time.
would anyone be interested then in a cylinder seal system? For suppressing. The internal stainless barrel should be easy to get threaded by tornado tech or someone.

Or should I wait for these guys to start making them for other guns?
you can see a snap cap. I would love to tell newbies that this is what happens when you dry fire with snap caps. Just a funny thought that make me giggle like a little school girl.
Oh and the J-frame and the Taurus 856(and all small frame taurus guns) grip frames are the same but the grip screw placement is slightly different due to internal differences in the mainspring positioning. You could maybe work around this somehow and make one grip for both guns.
The LCR was great when it was cheaper than a J frame, since the LCR was so popularly received it literally costs more than a J frame, a lockless smith.
The trigger is pretty good on the pull, the cam system makes the reset feel worse than a smith but don't ride the reset. let it reset.
The price increases are ridiculous. It used to be $400-425, then I bought mine for $525 last year, and now I'm seeing them for $600. Rugers have gotten expensive across most of their lineup too. In 2012, a convertible Blackhawk model was about $650, now it will run you $900. I know that everything has gotten expensive, but certain Ruger products are getting way too pricey for what they are. Look at the new Marlins for an example.

newbies goona newbie. This thing has been ongoing for years. I don't particularly want an LCR but I'm tempted to buy one just to slap one of these and a laser on one and larp as K.
Same boat. Assuming it comes out, I'll be buying one. It's a labor of love for anon - I hope he makes good money of it.
anon, this is home brewed /k/ shit. Calm your teats. This fricker is doing something we want, and probably earth wants. This is good for da erf.
Make an AR compatible mag in orange like on a eurotrash gun. Maybe a full transparent AR stock....and grips. All the furniture anon. ALL OF IT.
Lancer already makes them, and a ton of other colors.
>AR that looks like an old translucent n64
I can only dream
Nonono, you don't UNDERSTAND anon, this thread took up space that could have gone to "generic AR moron question thread #4306" and that is UNACCEPTABLE.
>You can shoot the MadKatz AR.
Black person this is the most exciting product I’ve seen created on PrepHole since the ball warmers in PrepHole. Take your boring salty ass back to the ocean and wave bye bye.
a number of people do it and have done so for years.
we have buy sell trade threads as well.
he isn't some e-celeb, he aint being a homosexual about it, let him fricking cook.
I love the coom oil that one anon shills here sometimes
I save those threads, that dude is interesting and he has some new stuff as well, not just his gun lubes.
some sort of all purpose rust inhibitor.
https://desuarchive.org/k/thread/57692078/
posted on april first of all days, but its interesting from a practical side and a science side.
i would normally agree but it kills a ukraini thread
Can you leave and never come back please? Thanks
I have a feeling this is a scam so there'll be plenty of lulz at least...
frick off homosexual
OP has been in handgun general and revolver general for a long time. He is pretty based tbh
I'll believe it when I see them in people's hands. Usually believable things like this are just good scams. I really do hope it's legit though.
normally i would agree, but OP has always been sharing his progress on making them and having other guys asking to buy them.
Bro if it's a scam, just chargeback.
If he asked me to mail him cash I'd not do it, but he seems pretty legit.
I did sell some of the original grips to people back in the day. These are much better quality though
If I send you a pair of these grips could you make me copies?
https://www.dlsports.com/dlsports-performance-revolver-grips-for-smith-and-wesson-kln-roundbutt-frames.html
We’ve moved away from using other companies grips for casting to avoid any copyright/licensing issues. That’s why we designed our own grip instead of me making casts of Hogue grips
I know, I was going to add that this is not for commercial sale - I just want a copy since it in profile is really close to the blade runner grips. It was what you used to do
yeah, I have those but I'm too busy to get it right or make the right two piece mold. I tried it
What about grips for guns that are no longer under any sort of copyright protection or no longer made?
My VIS-35’s Portman grips are cracked where they’re screwed in. Would be funny to slap some blade runner nonsense on a nickel plated bring back.
If you’re interested, it’s *relatively* easy to make a pressure chamber out of a harbor freight paint pot, some tubes, and an air compressor.
How close is a ruger sp101 (357) to the lcr? I am interested in your grips but I really dont want an lcr.
It seems like the grip attachment is relatively similar to the LCR, but again, that would require modeling a new interior for the grip and more testing. We’re focused on releasing the LCR grip first and we will go from there.
We feel that the price point is competitive with similar other LCR grips on the market. Compared to the other translucent resin grips for sale, ours have much higher clarity and strength. This is a comparison pic between the two: our grip on an LCR on the left and the competitors grip on my Unica 6 on the right.
How visible are the internals on the stippled version?
Here’s a pic of a rough prototype of the stippled version to give you a sense of how translucent it is
A little blury, but here’s the other side
Wow, clear actually does look kinda good...
But I just can't help but worry over time it'd yellow or get a little cloudy due to oils seeping in, whereas the other colors wouldn't noticeable degrade in that way.
People who rice out a $150 handgun are fricking gay.
>LCRs are $150
Link
NGL this is my favorite aesthetic. If I had the bubba skills I'd get a 10mm Hi Point Problem Solver just so I could rig the chunkiest holosight I could find to the top. Or if M3A1 kits were affordable I'd get one and stick a Terminator 1 style lazor tube on it
Frick off and post in the shitty Ukraine threads, loser.
Please sell me a s333 grip. I know it’s not popular but factory grips are bleh.
Frick that would be cool…. The only way to improve that gun is to make it more crazy. It’s all or nothing…. Also clear with an inset yellow thunderbolt would be fricking amazing.
what did they sell like 15 of those? Not worth the R&D work.
>other Ruger frames
>J/K/N frames
would sell way better and be worth the effort.
In fact they’re on the third generation. Still not accurate but I like the draw and aesthetic.
Agreed.
Slots to put in your own cheap Chinese tritium. Like a radioactive night bright but glowing iridescently through resin.
Common op I’ll get the range trap to suck your wiener.
Frick I wish they would sell this in .22lr. They even have Federal, CCI, and Winchester all releasing .22lr self defense loadings to justify it now.
I dunno why but I immediately think of candy when I see these, I kinda want to lick them
It’s the forbidden jolly rancher
We’ve tested the design to make sure it’s comfortable and secure in the hand. Even without stippling it feels very secure. As far as durability goes, the resin has held up to 400+ rounds of 38 special without any issues and is more than durable enough to handle normal use
Not him but have you tested the design with sweaty hands? Lots of grips feel nice until you're out at the range and your palms get sweaty and the gun slips in your grip due to sweat.
This
Also test dropping it in mom's spaghetti
just curious, how long does it take to go from conception to delivery?
i remember seeing these a while ago, but now you're offering them "soon", what was eating time?
Well from the “original” pink grip, we did durability testing, and then made some modifications to the design to make it more ergonomic. Next we started working on the stippling design, which presented some challenges, and we updated and integrated our logo into the grips.
Now all we have left to do is some final testing on the stippled grips and we will be ready to ship
>normal testing shit
ah ok
That and we have normal jobs outside of this, so it kind of slows things down
was this rendered in blender? lol
Probably more like an actual 3D CAD software like SolidWorks I'd imagine, you cynical sack of shit
Will you do international shipping?
Good to see you making progress. The only gripe I have is that the LCR isn't a crazy-popular gun like a glock or ar, because I want you to be successful. I'm not trying to make you doubt your decision, but (as dumb as it sounds) I'd buy a blade runner grip for an AR. I think at least a few morons will be buying an LCR over this grip though. I wish they came in barrels even longer than the x model offers, the barrel isn't really the issue in concealment as much as the cylinder and grip, but I get they do it for the draw.
When will you make Makarov grips?
>epoxy grips without stippling
wouldn’t that be slippery?
The way that the grip is asymmetrically shaped allows the hand to keep a firm hold on the grip even without stippling.
I didn’t have any issues with the grip feeling slippery during testing. We wouldn’t sell the non-stippled version if it sucked to use
If you can find translucent resin grips with the same quality at a cheaper price point, I’d like to see them
I love you
Looks cool, my only concern is breakage, is that common for things like this? What are they made out of?
>goldberg
lol
It's made of pure tree sap. Very flexible and absorbs impact well. Only downside is it's sticky which is good for grip but gets bad on hot days.
Is there anything I can follow you guys on OP? I've been lusting after a set since way back when that original anon posted pictures of his ghetto ass vacuum chamber, very excited that you guys have this almost done.
You can follow us on our instagram: neonforestindustries
Also that anon with the ghetto vacuum chamber was me! It does feel good to have come this far from back then
The resin has a hard plastic-like texture. The stippling/shape of the actual grip makes it easy to hold onto
so they will feel like shit then. Hows the durability when dropped from a loaded gun will they crack and shatter to shit? Dont worry its a rethorical question
garand dumb replied to your post
send him the grips and tell him to hurry up and do a review
He already reached out to us when we produced our first prototypes. We’re gonna send him a grip once we’re ready to sell
nice
very cool
Congrats on getting this far man.
Will you eventually make more opaque grips? I’d jump on a set if you did.
Deckard’s weren’t completely see-through.
Count Zero any good? I just bought it and I really liked Neuromancer.
Thanks!
We might make more opaque grips eventually, but right now we are sticking to the translucent versions.
I really enjoyed Count Zero. Better than Mona Lisa Overdrive at any rate. Though I will say Gibson is not great at writing endings in any of the sprawl trilogy books. The journey is worth it though
So you're making the PPK dragon grips eventually, right?
Yes those are definitely on our mind
>Bridge Trilogy
Virtual Light
Idoru
All Tomorrow`s Parties
>way better than sprawl
I always love the vibe that I get when I read Gibson.
He has such a way of making investing worlds. Shame he sucks at endings.
>Shame he sucks at endings.
He also sucks at the actual story part
But the man is a master of description. I can practically smell and hear his cityscapes
>gibson endings, need to reread
Been 10 years since I read Bridge but my recollection each one has solid close.
Seconded. I forget which one ends with the Chinese 7-11 location opening on the Bridge but I really enjoyed that.
Count Zero is by far the most /k/ related of all his books. The main character is a soldier of fortune they keep resurrecting in a vat and he's so fried from essentially lifetimes of being killed in action that he just fricking executes anyone on the spot whenever his paranoia flares up. (These arent spoilers all of this is introduced in chapter 1)
Having read his Sprawl, Bridge and Blue Ant trilogies Id say its easily my favorite.
for you
>Turner is sporting an LCR?
da fuk
Badass. Thank you. I love how it really nails the "Bobby hanging out in in the VR porn sim all day," vibe
I read the trilogy over a decade ago and i honestly couldnt recall a thing about countzero. Theres parts of neuromancer that stick out and some of monalisa but i couldnt recall anything from zero. Even reading the wiki summary its like uh yeah that sounds somewhat familar.
Good for you. I'm happy to see you succeed.
Are they going to be hard and slippery or soft ish and grippy?
I might buy an lcr for this
I’ve been looking for an excuse to buy an lcr as well anon….
These things would look sexy as frick on the 3" version
What all revolvers do these work on?
This grip is only for the Ruger LCR, although we will be making grips and accessories for other guns in the future
Smith is probably a good next target.
You only need to make like four grips to fit every single S&W revolver.
>like four grips to fit every single S&W revolver.
J, K, L N frame, round butt square butt... I'm at >4 grips.
K, L and X are the same grip frame.
Well, there you go. What's the hold up?
No round butt k vs square butt k? They don’t share the same grips
You are correct square and round are different but the frame size is the same. There are even "conversion" grips you can buy for round frames to mimic the square frame grip.
Is this true? Which S&W model would be the easiest to acquire? If they do all share the same grip base, then that might just be our next firearm to make a grip for
First you have to decide if you're going to do separate grips for round and square grip frames.

Square:
And they did make square butt snubs but they're not as common as round butt.
Which is the most common? I’m leaning towards just making it for the round butt version because I think it looks better
That way you get both square and round sales off the bat and then you can double dip the round butt customers with a round specific design later.
t. I'm not a israelite but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
I meant in production, my gunstores never have used smiths or have them for very long
Well, I don't got an LCR, so good luck.
Got a GP100, though.
LCR and LCRx? They use the same grips right?
Yes it will fit both
I have a vintage Colt Agent with a hammer shroud I'd love to see these things on
Can you design a double use grip?
Because the other femguns can't shoot.
CZ 75 P01 grips would be kink
Geeze bro. I remember your first threads with the bubble-filled grips you fished out of your basement vacuum chamber (assuming you're the same anon). Very cool to see how much progress you've made.
I think he started on PrepHole but mods told him to frick off with the weapon-related thread
Nope it was on /k/.
It was in a cyberpunk thread here and we were thinking of what the most cyberpunk real gun would be and I made some abomination in photoshop and made that abomination a reality
Well, that must've been a different ghetto vacuum chamber aficionado
I think I made a post on PrepHole asking about resin casting once I ran into issues with bubbles. I doubt there are that many people making sketchy pressure chambers for resin casting
Found the original picture on my old laptop lmao
Nice
Based autist goes on 'till his dream becomes reality.
your grips look nothing like that though. maybe you should have added the metal base? they sell LCR amber transparent grips online for like $20 every once in a while, you could have made these stand out
>they sell LCR amber transparent grips online for like $20
Link it b***h, talk is cheap!
I think they look similar, like if Deckard’s gun had a snubby version. Either way it would be easy enough to design a little “foot” for it
As for other transparent amber grips being sold for the LCR, I was the first one to make them 5 years ago. The only other person who started making them seems to have stopped, but see above for quality comparisons between our grips and our competitors
>they sell LCR amber transparent grips online for like $20 every once in a while
are they in the room with you right now?
Jesus I remember that.
How long ago was that?
Idk probably like 5-6 years ago
Cool anon thanks
Any chance that there might be other colors down the line. I know the pink didn’t make the cut during the poll you posted a little while ago, but I love the way they look in the testing pics.
If there’s enough demand for a color, we could probably add them in the future. Right now
these are the planned colors + fluorescence as an option
I can't believe how far this project has come. Feels like it's been a decade in the making and I always click the threads despite not even owning a wheelgat. Is the LCR even a nice pistol? .38spl seems so out of date at this point.
One of these would look pretty nice on a chiappa though.
Disregard, I was not aware they came in different calibers. I do wish they offered an exposed hammer version. I hate DA triggers.
You can get a LCR in 357 with an exposed hammer
God damnit anon I didn't need a wheelgun but frick me here we go I guess.
Im having this exact same conversation with myself tonight. I have a Model 5444 in my cart
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/992709729
In all honesty it actually isn’t half bad looking by Ruger standards.
LCRx is the exposed hammer version. 22lr is the most practical but .327 is the coolest.
I always thought Magnum calibers were absolutely goofy in a one pound gun. Like, even in my 27 ounce king Cobra they're manageable, but they're not pleasant. In something like an LCR or even worse a 340 it's downright comical.
You can shoot 38 out of a 357. I legitimately have no idea why anyone buys a dedicated 38 due to this.
Price and the .38 LCR is 4oz lighter than the. 357 which is useful for pocket carry.
Yeah, I went 38, too.
I just don't want to have to deal with moonclips, bullet creep, and is it true you can't reload one by one with them? I have never used a gun that required moonclips.
You're absolutely correct. The .327 can fire .32 h&rs or .32 s&ws.
Are you making these from a mold or 3D printing them?
I genuinely wish you well in your business venture but holy shit that looks hideous.
Seconding, these look like the grips on a spring airsoft gun Walmart sold years ago.
any pictures in normal lighting? i want to know what they really look like. MSRP?
The MSRP will be $79.99 for the normal grip in amber and clear colorations (stippled and non stippled), and a little more for the other color options and fluorescence
Pretty reasonable, honestly. Any word on the glow in the dark stuff? Can the amber be made to glow even just slightly?
>Any word on the glow in the dark stuff? Can the amber be made to glow even just slightly?
Can you imagine if OP could make the amber grips glow amber at night? Would be sexy.
By glow you mean vibrate.
Unfortunately they will only be fluorescent under black light, but will not retain the glow. It’s something we are looking into though, because it would be cool
I would love a dim glow on the amber. I'm just a moron but I know trijicon does amber tritium. May be worth looking into? Idk.
This for sure started here.
I wish all federal agents were mandated to have bright green glowing Tritium grips on their service weapons. Would be very funny.
Federal agents shouldn't be allowed to own guns at all.
Even more based. The great Glowie buyback will start on August 22nd 2023.
All Glowies will be forced to turn in their weapons, and will be processed and imprisoned as domestic terrorists.
Soon fellers... Soon.
>$79.99
You're crazy.
I’ve also had grips from the same guy shatter on my Unica within the first 12 rounds
We live in the apex of consumerism.
>having a website
Two sales will pay for the website.
Resin is cheap. Getting it right, air bubble free, making the perfect mold isn’t.
*laughs in $200 Nills grips.*
>>$79.99
>
>You're crazy.
Holy shit gun boomers are the cheapest c**ts on the face of the earth.
It's a neat project by /k/ommandos, they're probably too cheap at $79.99 for all the effort these guys have put in.
I do want the metal base though. I'll pay a lot more if they'll make me one that has it.
same
I want the metal base
How is that plastic to work with as far as cutting and sanding it goes? I've gotten to be a fan of the boot grip on my LCR and yours looks a bit long for my preferences. Obviously getting it that clear again after sanding it will take a lot of work, but I want to make sure that it's not going to crack or splinter in an unexpected manner if I try to cut it down shorter.
The material should be fine as far as sanding it down goes, but our design will have a negative space inside for our logo which will probably cause some issues with sanding
Please don’t put a logo
It's a cool logo though. It's a post op cyber vegana.
I'm not paying 80 bucks for some shit with an ugly logo on it
Not even weeb scribbles?
Take heed, dear ad buyer. The logo will add nothing to your biz but it could lose you customers. Your advertising at the range will all be word of mouth and your customers know where you are.
Then don’t
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Oof. That's PrepHole PR for you.
Free tip: you're better off saying nothing than what you just did.
Frick off, weenie ass homosexual. Acting like your opinion matters and shit.
k dude
>Oof um yikes sweetie here's an /r/lifeprotip: don't be a chud!
k dude
You have an example of how the logo would look on a finished piece?
Here’s a render of what it will look like. You can see other angles in previous pictures I’ve posted in the thread
And disregard the grip on the right. We aren’t going with the logo design on the side anymore
>front side, bottom
Meh. Pretty unobtrusive imo. Not a huge fan of big logos but this wouldn't bother me.
Blade Runner Grip Guy, you have to make grips that fit the Charter Arm Bulldog. The Revolver that made the Blade Runner gun.
Nice! I might have to buy an LCR now.
Now for the glow in the day grip
If you make it for a rhino… I will buy it for a rhino…. Then I will buy a rhino…
Any risk of this thing turning white from stress after shooting it for a long time?
We put hundreds of rounds through our prototype with only minor abrasions inside the grip where it was rubbing up against the gun, but even that was addressed when we updated the design. If you’re talking about major white discoloration from stress, like on a piece of plastic, then no
MAKE SOME FOR A CZ75 YOU Black folk

why?
we are the autists he wants to sell to.
>anon goes to thread of a guy EXPLICITLY talking about how he's bringing a product to market
>complains that its a guy shilling for his own product
Why are you here, anon? To make yourself unhappy?
OK I gave my email to preorder. Don't even have anything to put them on, but you guys are cool and I always wanted a Bladerunner gun.
Is there a particular dragon dildo these fit? Asking for a friend.
Yeah
I don't have an LCR, nor do I have interest in getting one, but keep up the good work anon, for this is very cool.
I'll just leave this here.
Dumping...
All Hail. Note, I did not and will note pay to see the new Indy.
>frickup a $2000 bolt action to nig rig it to like a $150 revolver
nah
Some moron will pay 5k for a working prop. You could make a decent living building just this gun, one at a time, in your kitchen.
>movie makes MILLIONS
>gun INSTANT ICON
>b.buht it belongs inna mew see 'um
Putz.
No doubt. Same b***h was made about chopping M92s into custom Mare's Legs in '96ish. Had to be sold as SBRs, at that. Someone quickly made M92 pistol rcvrs and sparedvthe classics. Then people b***hed about crashing Chargers on Dukes of Hazzard. There will ALWAYS be a b***h. Now people are b***hing it has the Stars and Bars on the roof. What planet is this?
Just imagine all the broomhandles perverted into MUH HAN SOLO GUN.
Might just have to buy a fricking LCR just to get these grips
God bless, OP. I remember the first couple of posts about this. Take care.
I have a 9mm LCR
During dry fire I've come to realise that I tend to twist it upwards when squeezing the trigger
nah
327 federal with buffalo bore 32 H&R mag
b***h hands luke
9mm in a revolver will remind you why the Hi-Power was called the Hi-Power.
I have a 3 in .357, 4 in .44 magnum, .40, 10mm, the most uncomfortable gun to shoot is the 9mm LCR
So you're not gonna mark a darker blue version after all? Not a big deal, I'll just go Amber, then.
Or red. I still don't know which.
the original blaster is frick off huge
an amber grip for the super GP100 or a meatball would be max bladerunner
If this thread ends and Wintermute hasn't sold me a fricking amber grip i will pull the fricking trigger
A full set of AK hardware in amber would be frickin sweet too. Only pistol I have is a beretta 96, or else I'd get these
This is fricking cool af anon, and I've seen DIY variants of these here for years. I'd take one, and then wait for a NAA Mini Master version 😀
>NAA Mini Master version
The Black Widow?
Black Widow is the shorter barrel version. Mini Master is the 4" one. Pic related, Mini Master, Black Widow, Pug from left to right. Same frames and cylinders and everything, different barrel lengths.

pug and mini master
Well now I want one with a 12" bbl because I want one with a 12" bbl.
...and now I'm tired of waiting!
they once made a batch of 500 for Canada in 4.25", and then a few batches of 500 of the other long-barreled ones (since leafs are gay and need to own handguns above 4.16" to be legal), and I bought one from a leaf just for the novelty.
I had a 4-5" octogon bbl in my hand, but was moving and just bleeding cash at the time. Had to pass. I think itcwas even tapered?

Frick do I have to get an LCR for this now?? Looks cool af
Yes.
how will it do in super cold weather? I'll use a 22 lcrx as my winter camping gun. Is it polyester or polyurethane based?
ANSWER MY QUESTION PLEASE
I don't want it to crack in -30 🙁
Ugh. I keep forgetting this is a weeb site.
lick nuts loser
>LCRx
>3 inch barrel model
>Lasermax module
>these grips
>custom shoulder holster
Cum my pant
Is the Lasermax module compatible with the 3” model of the LCRx? I know that might be a moronic question, but I can’t find any pictures of this configuration online. If it dose work (and assuming the Lasermax is good), then I want this configuration too!
I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be. The Lasermax module clamps around the trigger guard and an extended crane screw, and none of the features in that area of the gun seem to be changed from the 2" to the 3" model.
Have to get an LCR now, nice.
I once asked this man for grips of this style for an SAA. He never replied.
I will not buy these.
Right now we are only making the grips for the LCR, but we will branch out to other guns in the future
>fox vs grapes
>grapes win ever time
Are LCRs any good for pocket carry? How's the printing?
Apologies in advance if you've had thus asked before but will these be available for S&W J-frames?
Do these come in different flavors?
>$75 for chinese plastic grips on a nu-ruger
Any other patterns/textures/hues?
would anyone be interested then in a cylinder seal system? For suppressing. The internal stainless barrel should be easy to get threaded by tornado tech or someone.
someone has a product like what I'm thinking but it's ugly
shoulder stock next?
>sbr
>pay $200 or go to jail
is that legal
Sure, just pay your good boy fee of $200
tax stamps are only 200??? i thought they were like 2000 lol why the frick do i not have one then
200 money dollars and a few months (or years) waiting for it to be approved
does it have to be renewed every so often
Only if you somehow get removed from the registry, otherwise it's good forever
oh that's awesome i thought you had to renew it every so often, and if you forgot then the atf has a free reason to come raid you and throw you in jail because they know you have something that expired
no but you have to alert the government if you ever want to take it out of state. it's a big pain in the ass.
Gonna buy my first revolver just to put these grips on it, what chambering should I get the LCR in?
Or should I wait for these guys to start making them for other guns?
22
.327
I'm in the same boat homie. anons make good points about .22lr and I have a ruger LCP-II in .22lr but 38/357 or 9mm seem more better
Please make a set for the Rhino so I can properly LARP as a shithead cyberpunk street samurai, thanks
>Excuse to get a cybernetic replacement
score!
Upgrades are always welcome!
>Bubbas pissing hot reloads
>Cast aluminum revolver
Yeah, I'm thinking it's dismemberment time.
That pic was a noob with factory ammo that had a squib and sent another one after it. I dunno the story behind pic related.
I love the fact that in the this pic
you can see a snap cap. I would love to tell newbies that this is what happens when you dry fire with snap caps. Just a funny thought that make me giggle like a little school girl.
Obsessed.
Are you ever going to get more than the two or three pictures you post every time?
It's the Glock binder all over again
At least he eventually stopped posting the 'beefybeefybeefy.jpg' pic.
>'beefybeefybeefy.jpg'
I don't have to post it you can see it in your brain right now.
Oh and the J-frame and the Taurus 856(and all small frame taurus guns) grip frames are the same but the grip screw placement is slightly different due to internal differences in the mainspring positioning. You could maybe work around this somehow and make one grip for both guns.
And how is this any different from the $30 ones from that dude on ebay?
read the thread before replying
Clearer
Does not say “hogue” on the inside
Allegedly more robust? People reported those breaking under recoil
Does Harrison Ford know about this?
I rather doubt at his age he gaf. He's more worried about not getting lost and wetting.
frick that butthole
ver nice. I've been trying to decide on a snub nose and I think I'll get an LCR just to get this grip.
Look at the new Marlins for an example.
it's crazy, you can get a lockless 442 for the same price now

Take the Smith all day and night.
Ruger is getting too big for their britches. If they’re going to charge a premium they better be offering premium quality.
>Ruger is getting too big for their britches
Agreed. They were and are mid tier.
