Gulf war? That was an unapologetic curb stomp, why would you set a game there? At least WW2 and Vietnam had some degree of parity.
My guess they're going to explore early 90s conflicts like the collapse of the USSR, Somolia, Kuwait/Iraq, etc
Special Forces missions and the like. What they want is the time period, the rest will come later
