i can usually mount light on a handguard by putting it close to a lamp and it has a lot of light mounted to it. its great because if i needed to use it, the lamp is already on so I can see around the room easily
Any recommendations? I could hose clamp it I guess, though the og surefire mounts are a bit harder to track down.
A good zip tie rig. Make it tight, use bigger ones for the base.
I do have surplus of zip ties

How secure is the iwc? Those tiny ass screws have me wondering.. I'll look into the barrel clamp, though I'd have to throw it in front of the FSB due to a side swivel being under fsb.
Ever heard of hose clamps? That's how they used to do it. Barring that you could drill a couple holes to attach a short length of pic rail where you want your light.
That's true - I was thinking of using the vent holes, but not sure there would be enough clearance
>How secure is the iwc? Those tiny ass screws have me wondering
I couldn't tell you, sorry. I just went with the barrel clamp myself but still waiting on some other parts in the mail before I put her all together.
Yeah I was wondering how secure it may be. I'm assuming it would be fine, but there's not a whole lot of info on them. What clamp did you end up going with?

That was the eighties. By the nineties, this was all hashed out.

This is a decent solution. I have used one. Just don't expect it to hold zero for a laser.
there plenty of different light and picatinny mounts that mount inside the clamshell. idk why you wouldn't just get a ras or whatever the DD one is though.
So far I've got the elzetta, barrel clamp, mlok slot, iwc mount, etc. Have anymore I can add to the list? I'd do ras/dd, but I've got a carry handle. I'd like to keep it as stock as possible, however silly that may be
DD&D, among others, make a pic rail adapter that bolts to the open holes in the M4 guard. then you can mount your light with whatever pic rail mount you want.
Might take a trip then. I may also try the IWC but those screws be sus
I used a Fenix and its been alright
Good to know, thanks

i have the iwc mount. the weak link isnt the screws, is the hg. its only as strong as the plastic handguards, but it works.
im using a scout m300. if i had a really large or heavy light on there, that might be more of a concern.

That’s comforting regarding the screws and this is true. I’m looking at either the 600u or 600df on there, but I’m not sold yet since I’d only be using 123’s.

Try this…I had one and it was a little too long so I just Dremeled it so shorten and painted edge.
Good to know - yeah, I always wondered if those walked out. loctite might not be as useful considering it's right at the fsb. Worth a try though. I may try the iwc also. Worst case scenario it becomes a parts bin trinket and I can either clamp or screw in a mount somehow
I’ve heard the elzetta is pretty decent. I have a side sling swivel or Id otherwise be using that. I do like having the bayonet lug free though. Wasn’t there an og surefire mount for that? Like a #14 or something?
Assuming you also have an FSB, which you better. It comes in a QD and non QD flavor.

why do you think they went to rails?

Why not an old school barrel clamp?

tape, zip ties or those shitty picatinny adapters that screw on since zeroing isnt an issue with lights.

I'll check those out, thanks.
Interesting choice as well. I'll be sure to use your Amazon smiles link if I go that route, anon.
Just buy them from your hardware store, along with bolts and washers to mount them.

Thanks - I was eying that one too. Apparently you can do similar with mlok rail extensions

okay so you definitely are underaged and don't own the rifle you're asking about
get a barrel clamp

Funny, I've been looking into the same thing too.
I was just gonna find a bayonet-picatinny adapter, though. Think Botach has one.

do you prefer cds or tapes
Tapes ngl. The cds scratched too easily imo.

Fsb is life. The only thing about those fsb mounts were the reports of wear caused by them. Have you had this happen?
I'm not that anon but sounds like bicycle inner tube could solve that.
It could for sure. I’ll have to look up my source on the west thing. I believe it had to do with the c7 version, but could be wrong.
False - we need more lumens
just remember if you shine that light at another person your going to jail

Heard about that combo and you could switch it to a larue mount instead if desired I think
10/10 cursed. That raised mount is interesting.
This one looks interesting. Sort of reminds me of the kerm lock, but more permanent
Here's my cursed carryhandle.
