i can usually mount light on a handguard by putting it close to a lamp and it has a lot of light mounted to it. its great because if i needed to use it, the lamp is already on so I can see around the room easily

Why not an old school barrel clamp?

Any recommendations? I could hose clamp it I guess, though the og surefire mounts are a bit harder to track down.

A good zip tie rig. Make it tight, use bigger ones for the base.

I do have surplus of zip ties

How secure is the iwc? Those tiny ass screws have me wondering.. I'll look into the barrel clamp, though I'd have to throw it in front of the FSB due to a side swivel being under fsb.

Ever heard of hose clamps? That's how they used to do it. Barring that you could drill a couple holes to attach a short length of pic rail where you want your light.

That's true - I was thinking of using the vent holes, but not sure there would be enough clearance

I couldn't tell you, sorry. I just went with the barrel clamp myself but still waiting on some other parts in the mail before I put her all together.

Yeah I was wondering how secure it may be. I'm assuming it would be fine, but there's not a whole lot of info on them. What clamp did you end up going with?

tape, zip ties or those shitty picatinny adapters that screw on since zeroing isnt an issue with lights.

This is a decent solution. I have used one. Just don't expect it to hold zero for a laser.

there plenty of different light and picatinny mounts that mount inside the clamshell. idk why you wouldn't just get a ras or whatever the DD one is though.

      Anonymous

So far I've got the elzetta, barrel clamp, mlok slot, iwc mount, etc. Have anymore I can add to the list? I'd do ras/dd, but I've got a carry handle. I'd like to keep it as stock as possible, however silly that may be

        Anonymous

DD&D, among others, make a pic rail adapter that bolts to the open holes in the M4 guard. then you can mount your light with whatever pic rail mount you want.

i have the iwc mount. the weak link isnt the screws, is the hg. its only as strong as the plastic handguards, but it works.
im using a scout m300. if i had a really large or heavy light on there, that might be more of a concern.

That’s comforting regarding the screws and this is true. I’m looking at either the 600u or 600df on there, but I’m not sold yet since I’d only be using 123’s.

Good to know - yeah, I always wondered if those walked out. loctite might not be as useful considering it's right at the fsb. Worth a try though. I may try the iwc also. Worst case scenario it becomes a parts bin trinket and I can either clamp or screw in a mount somehow

Funny, I've been looking into the same thing too.
I was just gonna find a bayonet-picatinny adapter, though. Think Botach has one.

I’ve heard the elzetta is pretty decent. I have a side sling swivel or Id otherwise be using that. I do like having the bayonet lug free though. Wasn’t there an og surefire mount for that? Like a #14 or something?

It could for sure. I’ll have to look up my source on the west thing. I believe it had to do with the c7 version, but could be wrong.
