That or they don't know how to wire them properly. I've seen the truck antenna hooked up directly to the radio before set on low. My favorite is when they successfully hook it up to the amp but forget the small w2 to the radio.

The easiest radio in the world to load and operate. If you can't make an mbitr work you are literally moronic.

      >man i don't hear anything
      >does this thing even work
      >I miss the beeping sounds
      >are we even on the jarn?
      >i don't see any landtracks on my tablet
      >this watch thing chaffs my wrists
      >i miss my dagr
      >my feet hurt
      >can we go back to the asoc yet?

The absolute best and most feature rich radio I've ever dealt with but unless I personally loaded and programed it no one used it. You'd think aviators would be smarter, but they're just the same level of stupid with more professionalism mixed in.

        >148
its not that its hard. actually its my favorite radio that I have ever used. Also the THALES boot screen animation is cool as shit. Its that it was never designed for networking and is regularly pushed to the task of it, which is where all my complaints on it come from.

its nice. the wrist panel is nice. the programming software is pretty good, they did an excellent job on most everything in falcon III. My only actual complaint is that I can't ever find proper cables for it. the main life hack with it is that it shares a lot of similar pin placements to the 117g, with the most important pins on both the red and black side connectors on it being squished down onto one connector. In some cases you can actually file down the half moon key from a golf cable, screw it into the 152a, duct tape it so the bastard doesn't move, and the cable will still work (consult your wiring diagrams this isn't 100% and I am seriously mentally disabled).

Also they actually fricking signed the falcon III drivers on the 152a for once in their god damned lives :^)

        also on this
        >You'd think aviators would be smarter, but they're just the same level of stupid with more professionalism mixed in.
After thinking about it a bit I think the reason they configure it wrong is because there is some software in pfps/combatnet that will auto configure radios plugged in. People are just stupid and rely on it. I have some specific suspicions as to what programs in the suite are the worst offenders but ill leave that up to a fun mystery for the next generation.

Meh mbitr is super over rated and 163 is underated

Everytime, mbitrs get broken out 'man i don't remember these things sucking'

I think the major issue is that they're just getting old. Kinda like to Berettas they replaced. When new they were fine but age took it's toll and they needed to get gone. Same with the 1523s. The 152's and 117Gs are a vast improvement but I don't have any experience with 163s. If radios got replaced, or even tagged the issue wouldn't be there. But the .mil being what it is half of the fricks working on radios don't even know what a wavelength is and weren't taught basic troubleshooting skills, see

Yup your probably right, and new radios come about and a.) They essentially beta test on us before pushing out fixes and b.) People really don't want to learn a new radios. Hence a lot of the hate for the 163.

Radios are one of those things that people like to treat like magic that only a certain caste can understand. During the last year of my contract I went out of my way to teach my soldiers how to use radios because of this and my senior leadership did everything in their power to stop it and make me train only 1-2 on how to set them up because frick change.

I was just thinking with modern sensors, radar domes that light up for only one or a couple passes will still be able to be triangulated to the meter.
