Attention:

I will be picking up a refrigerator from best buy.
I will be transporting it home for 45 minutes with it laying on it's back.
There is nothing you can do to stop me.

doesn't matter how you transport it, as long as you leave it in up position for a day before turning it on, to let the oil sip back to the compressor
and even if you don't do that, it's your fridge you will frick up, bought with your money, so no one cares, dumb frogposting moron

      >leave your fridge sitting upright for 24 hours. before plugging in
This is a meme, right? I've had the same fridge for 6 moves over 15 years and not once did I ever do this. Still works fine to this day.

it's not a meme, hydraulic lock exists in every machine doing compression

That’s how everyone, ever moved a fridge dipshit. You just don’t plug it in for a day once you have it installed.

You want to be a real baller? Plug it in immediately and roll the dice. Then you can frog post troll about it

probably shortened it's life, but like the other anon said, your money

        >I did a thing and nothing bad happened, so that means you're wrong!
survivor bias is a boomer's friend

also depends on the brand, some manufacturers say don't tip, some say only tip on back and others don't give a frick, but almost all of them say leave upright for 24h, and why would you not wait? if I spent $3000 on an appliance, I'd try to not frick it up right away.

protip: some models do have tip indicators inside for warranty protection

if it didnt break then its fine for the rest of its life. refrigerators either work or are straight up fricked with no in between. its a dumb gamble to plug it in immediately though, a whole day isn't long at all.

          >only tip on back
They say that so you don't get dents on the door or the sides. Crates get tipped all the time.
