However, being in the military, in a tank BN, as a tank operator, yea id say its their job to be proficient at working the tank in times of war.
The only part of shooting at stationary targets that are clearly defined and driving around a basic track that translates to warfare is the communication between the tank crew members and the basics of operating the tank. There is a lot more to operating in a battlefield than those things, winning the annual "Russia is the best at tanks" competition doesn't mean you're the Simo Hahya of the tank world.

Biathlon skills would unironically be best suited for hunting. The tank on the other hand has one purpose. There is no reason to have this other than to show off your tank tech and crew training.

Female soccer is the superior spectacle sport.
First of all, you're watching women, not men.
Second, they need to train for endurance and lower leg muscles, so they're less steroid-laden than in other sports.
Third, even with all the training, they have less endurance than men, so matches are often more strategic and plays are usually more involved than "Ok, our star player will get the ball and try to rush the goal".

Russia proved they are meaningless. Success in the games doesn't mean some ukie with an ATGM won't enter you in the turret toss.
It's fun but it feels repetitive, I followed it last year and I don't think I feel interested in another round of the same stuff...

Because they suck, the events have no relation to real combat and instead only serve as a way to advertise Russian hardware. e.g. dissallowing the use of modern fire control systems and totally ignoring any team play aspect which would require effective communication between units.
There's a reason western units don't attend, the entire organisation is deeply biased as a way to "show russian superiority"
