Argentina gunlaws

Any other /k/ommandos from Peronistan?
I have a theory I want to check with you guys before going straight to Anmac, if the M1 Garand and SKS are allowed because they don't have detachable magazines shouldn't ARs and AKs be perfectly legal with a fixed mag like how Caligays do it?

Something like this should be legal as per the letter of the law

The main issue I can think from this would be Anmac taking forever to approve, Bersa imported some AR9 """pistols""" and they're waiting an eternity in Port in Ezeiza for them to get the special peepeepoopoo Anmac number

they arent exactly reasonable, but generally on par with others around that area, brasil has it good, uruguay is mediocre and chile is also kinda fricked

Well you need a psych test aproved, a month long firearms course, and are pretty restricted in terms of open or concealed carry without having to go to court and getting a special permit that basically never gets granted

I have heard foreigners can buy guns, and there is little to no restriction on the type of weapons (Gun stores even sell full-auto)
Not sure how much this is becasue of the actual law, and how much this is just because they don't enforce it

              Anonymous

im not sure about foreigners, gun laws dont really restrict type but whats generally available are more traditional bolt or lever action guns, shotguns etc mainly because thats the only kind that gets used, more modern pistols are for sale also but at absurd prices

right now id say pricing is the main limiting factor, basically the only viable guns to own are .22s and 12 gauges, every other caliber is pretty much unusable on cost alone, the whole process ends up being so expensive most people dont even bother

                Anonymous

ive lost the image now but at one point i did chart out prices, a complete turkshit shotgun with a good bit of ammo ended up costing about 1.5k, thats not counting classes and the price of the licence itself, it may not sound like a lot but its the third world we dont earn that much, the used market isnt that much better either

9mm still is not expensive to shoot, especially if you buy reloads.

Paraguayan laws are better than Uruguayan's. While Uruguay has a limit in guns that you can own, Paraguay has none, like Argentonga.
Everything is way more expensive over there tho.

Does South America have gay laws for short barrel rifles too and those are sold as “pistols”?

              Anonymous

Shotguns with a barrel shorter than 600 mm are a no no. Semiauto rifles with magazines, in calibers superior to pistol are also forbiden. PCCs are sold as regular pistols. AR carbines or other models like the ones from Ruger in 9mm are also available without problems.

South shitmerica has weird gunlaws, in some countries you can't buy semi-auto rifles but most handguns are perfectly legal and people carry them concealed

Brazil had long ass barrels for shotgunsb ut that got undone by Bolsonaro (And possibly reinstated by L*la)
There was never a barrel lenght for rifles/PCCs
There use to be a restriction on semiauto long guns other than .22 (Again lifted and possibly reinstated this year) in which case i guess a cope pistol would be theoretically useful

                Anonymous

But afaik no one actually sold those cope pistols
Brazilian gun industry is nowhere as creative as US one due to lack of competition and no one bothered with loopholes
IE the biggest legal rifles calliber used to be 44-40 and you could barely find guns in it for sale (All new lever action rifles were in .38 special)

I would not be so sure since L*la has undone most of the recent changes

        >TFW Bolsonaro makes it easier to get one
        >TFW murder rate reaches an all time low in 2022
        >You'd expect those c**ts to be happy
        >Instead the doomsaying leftists just cherrypick isolated incidents to talk about how evil gun owners are destroying the country

        >Well he was nogunz, so their job is done right?
        >Wrong

We used to have okay-ish gun laws. But ever since the neoliberal rule we had in the 90s, socialist rule from 2003 to 2015, neoliberal again 2015-2019, and back to socialist ever since, they've been progressively shitting up our gun laws with no real political opposition.
Only for the last 2 or 3 years there's been a relevant "far-right" (lolbert) presence in our mainstream political arena, but even Their promises regarding gun rights seem empty.

Commies and libshits. Our laws were USA-tier up until the 1970s (with a gun culture to match) but a red scare introduced registration in earnest (previously it was optional) for centerfire guns. Then in the early 90s came full registration, followed by a law modeled after the AWB that made semi-auto rifles may issue. Eventually "may issue" became "lol get fricked".

We even have our own version of the 2nd amendment which lawmakers choose to conveniently ignore.

SKS are banned by name due to bubbas in the '90s modding them to take AK mags. It's even easier to uncuck a bullet button AR and the market for them would be tiny to begin with.

PCCs are kosher now per a new reading of the law so there's that.

Can someone give me a QRD on Argie gun laws?

My dad fled peron to come to Canada, and ive always been curious about what the laws are like down there, but its hard af to find info. Thanks.

Can you guys own pistols, semi autos? Are all guns treated the same? mag restriction? etc

      Anonymous

First you need a license. Ain't hard to git but the paperwork can take a heckuva time.
      >pistols
      Yes, no restrictions whatsoever.

      >semi-autos rifles
.22 lr and pistol calibers are unrestricted
"high-powered rifles" (which includes 22 mag lol) with fixed mags only

      semi shotties are unrestricted

The law makes a distinction between civilian-grade (.22 lr and shotties) and military-grade (everything else). Crimes commited with civilian-grade weapons carry more lenient charges but for lawful owners it doesn't matter.

CCL is may issue but virtually impossible to get approved without connections.
