Are you supposed to wear workpants under coveralls. I'm doing welding in college on maonday and i'm supposed to wear these fire resistant coveralls but idk if i should put them on once i get to the class over my normal workpants or no pants.

Doesn't your mom live with you? Anyway, if it's comfy and not comical, wear the coveralls all day. Otherwise wear pants and then make the decision: do I find a private place to remove the pants, or will the coveralls be fine over the pants.
Or just call mom and tell her you're not ready to go out into the complicated world.
Man just answer the question. Do you wear work pants under coveralls or no pants underneath the coveralls. I don't need a pep talk
>Man just answer the question.
Yes.
>Man just answer the question.
Real welders don't wear pants or coveralls. It's just OSHA bullshit to sell you crap.
Oh good we got the guy here that's going to help you get hurt. We call him the injury advisor because he'll advise you on how to become injured. Every site has a few. they think safety is all bullshit, then they get hurt, then half of them think safety still bullshit, then they get hurt then half of those still think safety is bullshit. eventually they get so injured they can't work anymore but by then freshly idiots have landed on site to take their place.
I never wore them when I was out welding on sites but i got to do a college part for my apprenticeship and you got to wear them. Never seen anyone wear them either so thats why i'm asking.
They're mandatory at my company. I don't like wearing them but I admit clothes feeling way more clean for the commute feels rather nice
Just wear gym shorts underneath coveralls you fucking queer
for me it depends on the ambient weather. if I was working outside in the winter I would definitely just put that on over top of my pants and shirt. in the summer though I would pull my pants off and be in that in my underwear and shirt. you got to be temperature comfortable too.
If the fabric is thick/strong you can wear just the overalls. If not, the welding spatters can burn through them and burn your skin.
wearing both can be quite hot depending on your climate.
>coveralls
Goes over your normal clothes to afford nominal defense against dirt, spills, grease, abrasion, debris, etc. Dress for the weather and then "cover all" of it with the coveralls.
>over my pants or no pants
Over the clothes you're already wearing. Most even have partially zippered legs so you can step into and out of them without removing your shoes.
long sleeve (crew neck) t shirt & tracksuit bottoms, since you'll be mincing about rather than working hard. Comfort is key.
I usually dress as if I'm not using overalls, then wear them as a sacrificial layer. It's no fun scutching your knee on a corner thru thin cotton, neither is leaning on weld you finished 2 minutes ago.
Best time to weld is when weather permits you can wear 3 t shirts 2 pullovers overalls & a welding jacket on top.
Most of the time though, a pair of shorts & a wife beater is the only sane choice.
Comfort is key- You need to be relaxed wherever possible. In yourself & how you position yourself.
I hate working on my knees, so I invariably build myself a stool & sit my ass down. This is fine.
I'm weak & girly a lot of the time, like a woodworker, so I drape the torch in such a way the weight of it is hanging from my elbow or arm more than my hand. Less fatigue = more + better
Every moment of every day should be 'Can I make this easier for myself?' It's literally the job & will improve your performance.
TL;DR Whatever makes you comfortable, but strong recommend at least double layer everywhere
>I'm doing welding in college on maonday
>maonday
LOL how the fuck did you make it to college when you cant spell? also if they are teaching you welding wouldnt they tell you how to put on the appropriate safety apparel? what kind of gay ass college are you going to
wow you've never accidentally pressed a wrong key while typing. you're so smart and intelligent, please tell me how I can be more like you.
>wow you've never accidentally pressed a wrong key while typing
so you dont check your typing before hitting post? fucking n00b
Before being an anal prissy over typos, maybe you should type properly yourself, with capitalization and proper punctuation. If your downie brain can comprehend them, that is.
>. If your downie brain
"you're" moron. maybe you shouldn't be lecturing me?
lol shutup stupid bitch. nobody falling for this bait
worked in painting so modal "clean room" coveralls and always the same warm temperature.
arriving in the workshop you went to the locker room and put the pants away and the coverall on. everyday a fresh one.
I used to wear b-ball shorts and a t-shirt under my bulwarks when I was in the navy. Granted I was just a gas turbine chud, so I never did any welding. Do what makes you happy 🙂
Are you supposed to wear anything under coveralls?
unless you like liquid metal globs meeting your dick yes
