Just because something has more weapons that can take it out more effectively doesnt mean that its somehow useless. The "glory days" of tank warfare is over but its still an incredibly useful tactically and you WILL feel it if you dont have any to field. The only real change that might happen with tanks would be if countries shift away from heavy tanks to lighter more nimble designs in an attempt to make them harder targets to find and target.

it's the 21st century you idiots
Yes, it's the 21st century. And tanks are a vital, indpispensable part of proper combined-arms warfare. A fact only utterly ignorant morons and self-declared armchair "experts" try to dispute, to the amusement of every actual army on the planet. Your point?

We have a lot of lighter "tanks" being produced and fielded but the backbone of armored strategies is still the heavy tank. You can reasonably consider IFV and such as light tanks or even medium tanks in some circumstances but they are not traditional tanks in the most common sense. What i said about less heavy tanks is all conjecture though and relies entirely on if its reasonable to do. Its entirely likely that its not. Im no expert.
ou are required to know nbc survival skills and close quarters confimed spaces training as well as jack of all trade? im driving my Abraham Lincoln house boat through the wasteland, but you say they may be obseelete, if your submarine can fly your better off than me, this is an honest question alot
Unless we have invented a new tactical or technical way of exploiting gaps by pushing at a rapid cadence deep into enemy lines before they can muster an organized response, with a platform that can bring both maneuvers and fires that outstrip the capabilities of infantry, no.
The challenge isn't blowing up tanks, we've been able to blow up tanks since they first showed up, and even at their zenith, their advantage was never that they were "invulnerable", it was their speed, precision, and fires that allow modern maneuver armies to exploit and create gains
i shoot live rods out of my nuclear powered abrhammeme railgun thing, d.u fired at 8 or 9 x turns into a live rod its a cheap retrofit but gauss neon rigs and maglev will rape my barrel trick its coming dude shits gonna be so cool, tanks will snipe UFOs for a living... battery packs for my toy solider? put it on his truck
Thats kind of a moot point though considering they are still effective against modern armor as long as you use the correct type against the correct target. Unless we have some MAJOR strides in how armor is constructed that makes it better its a non issue.

Yes, in modern times of high precision artillery and airstrikes, the big metal boxes (ew) are just not viable anymore. You need to be smaller and faster. All tanks should be replaced by the Wiesel.
The fact that i want to frick the Wiesel tankette has nothing to do with my assessment.
This shit is so goofy and i love it. Its like riding into battle on a bobcat.
denser non unstable material.. its just expensive, fuel to weight ratios, operation time capacity size of crew its beimg worked right now, i still dont know who made the eatimg crude oil jet hoe for bae but idgaf shits cool, we dont have a competitive enemy to advance the technology of warfare itself in these systems we use robots for luls disposable garbage we sit aroung 50kabroomers22pvnxms on reservations like pet rocks
Denser and harder materials help with armor but to make said armor not be defeated by modern shells is another thing entirely. Also there is more to armor than pure hardness or density and they could actually be worse than other materials depending on the situation.

Small and lightly armored does not mean fast in forntline combat, it means slow and cautious. There's a reason the msot aggressive recon units around are driving full-size MBTs.
>Wiesel
Literally less armor than a bombed-up Humvee and shit fuel autonomy. It's an airmobile weapons carrier that's good for its role, and just about nothing else.
flanking ability is a combat awareness skill, but drivers are basically blind anyway, im shinto ao i dont tell what id say i just a set of methods that ims stilaroun
omg im trying not to have a panic attack but i lub u

it depends on alots of aspect metallurgy is a hobby from ordinance fascinations, tbh i think they are waiting for javelin replacement since infantry carried weapons are a greater risk to armor in urban combats
Yes but not completely right now. The cope you see in this bread alone is the same kind the battleship seethers had even as their hulking vulnerability became painfully obvious

Short answer is no. Long answer is no you idiot.

limitations of ammo types in heavy combat vehicles has been reached for almost 40 years
