Don't know if good, but there have been a decent amount of e-bikes/4 wheelers being used in the Ukraine conflict, usually for resupplying trench positions. Don't know if it's because they're the best thing for the job or out of desperation.
Scouts and runners, yes. The ability to function under full emission control requires the ability to quickly transport messages and information between areas and units. Some weapons teams might get use out of motorycles as well, but ultimately ATVs, or even buggies, would be better for them.
E bikes and E dirtbikes don't have the range yet
Stick to a real dirtbike
Something like a TT-R125l or CRF125f
For military survival reasons you don't need a dualsport and IDK why all military bikes are dualsports
Just build up a dirtbike
If you want something nicer and more capable than a trail bike get something like a 150 2 stroke or 250 4 stroke enduro bike.
Like the Beta Xtrainer or YZ125x
I want to know if this would work >Hundreds of guys on e-dirtbikes and NVGS >Nightfall comes >Light artillery barrage to get Rusks into their trenches >End of barrage with light smoke >Ukrns quickly and silently cross no man's land using e-dirtbikes >Once contact has been made, tanks and other heavy vehicles cross >no man land to support e-dirtbikes
Using this tactic, the bikes only need to cross no man's land.
Even a e-bike would't be very silent off-road at night. Especially a lot of them. Also, riding them through no man's land with no light will require very good training.
Nice E dirtbikes like the KTM freeride or SurRon have a range of 50 miles per charge
While a gas powered bike can get 50 miles per gallon and hold 2.7 gallons usually
You can get even more than that on some trail oriented dirtbikes
So for now E bikes are not a good option
And you may avoid a 2 stroke because mixing gas may be a pain in the ass
But 2 strokes are better fight me
I restarted several times simply because I wanted to optimize how quickly I was building the roads. Mountain Knot City was a b***h to build to but hard work and slapping around Demens and rogue porters like they owed me money (which they did in the form of resources I was stealing from them). I got it done.
You have to be a really good rider to take a KLR or larger off road. It helps to be tall, bikes are noisy and have clear heat signatures. Unless the battle is in a urban area in Pakastan or southeast Asia and you're blending in, Id prefer a horse or mule.
A KLR is an adventure bike of course it would be terrible for any military
But a proper dirtbike or light weight dualsport like the KLX300 are really useful and capable offroad.
Yes and no. If you just need a small package (like a few cans of ammo and some rations) delivered quickly, they can be good. For actual frontline use, there's some problems. Riding a bike or motorcycle off road, especially through forests, is pretty dangerous even if you're skilled and experienced. You can't just throw private Bob on a motorcycle and yell him to help scout the forest. Now, if you have skilled and experienced riders, it wouldn't be a bad idea to send them off to go scout the forest on bikes or motorcycles. But private Bob should keep to roads and open fields. Quads are a pretty good idea though. They're not as nimble as the two wheelers, but can carry more and are far more easier to use. Private Bob can easily hop onto an atv or utv, possibly pulling a trailer, and deliver all kinds of goodies to the guys on the front lines. Either one is going to be pretty good for patrolling roads, and will use far less fuel than a standard vehicle.
I thought quads were death traps since newbies are lured into a false sense of confidence and flipping one is much worse than on a bike (which you're more likely to ditch instinctively anyway)?

Yeah, I didn't word that as well as I could. You don't want to send some rando out into the forest on a quad either. My main point was supposed to be that they have tactical use, but unless someone knows what they're doing they should be used for supply runs or road patrols.
Mostly shit because tiny payload and require all four limb to operate prohibiting moving self-defense and operation while injured. Niche uses exist as shown in Ukraine and extreme poorgay uses exist (Africa, A-stan).
That question gets asked here often, I detect a tourist. Also it's self-evident so any real motorcyclist already knows the answer.
OTOH quads fill the handy role of the rather small WWII Jeep and do so better. Those who can afford quads use them and they're superior for towing. For patrolling drones make much ground patrol pointless exposure and waste of fuel/time/personnel.
Fourwheelers are where it’s at, I’ve been riding them my whole life. Dirtbikes are cool and have their place too, but I wouldn’t run an electric one, I’d say a Honda CRF 450R would be the best.
Picrel: 2020 Honda 420 Rancher 4x4
E bikes/ e motorcycles especially since they are silent compared to IC engine.
Basically reaching positions otherwise unreachable by bigger vehicles (due to the amount of weirdly shaped rocks, holes, tight paths trees ecc) with potentially more gear, as well as a quicker escape then on foot
Recon , sniping and ambushes in a NON urban enviroment basically
You don't need to justify buying a dirtbike by it being tactical
Yes they are tactical
They allow you to go basically everywhere
But you probably won't every use it for that but you absolutely still should get a dirtbike or a quad.
Every american man deserves a dirtbike and an AR15 and they should be issued to us by the government.
If I was an evil politician who wanted to control americans
The last two things I would want them to have are AR15s and Dirtbikes
Which is why you should have both
People already use dirtbikes to be literally above the law
If you have enough people on dirtbikes you can do whatever the frick you want and cops can't do shit.
no
Yes
Possibly.
Conceivably
perhaps
Yeah we have dirt bikes in our army

Any proofs for that apart from 1 video just after a unit received them? They seem much worse for that purpose than any 4 wheeler

Because dirt bikes also don't have enough range
A trail bike has over 100 miles of range on a full tank what are you talking about?

Goddamn someone really wants me to play through this game again, I keep seeing it everywhere. Might as well.

Six-wheelers are where it's at.
They are sovl.
Yes
depends what kind of bike

My friend’s got a ebike and while it is quiet it gets like 20MPH at max speed but then again it was five hundred
There's some pretty kino footage of Ukrainian snipers quickly repositioning on e-bikes. The interviews were quite positive.
