Or is 6.5cm not enough of an improvement at long range capability over 308 to make it worthwhile? Also, if you were given the same price option on an iwi galil ace in 308 and a b&t apc308 which would you choose?

NATO MOPI ammo testing guide was going to update to include 6.5mm Creed as Stanag so it would become the new shiny short-range sniper/dmr round
With .338 LM/Normie as the LR sniper round
>it would have made 6.5 production more widespread and probably cheaper
>and 'surplus' 7.62 match-grade would become cheap surplus
As usual, US BuOrd goes their own way without consulting NATO "partners" to leapfrog 6.5Creed straight to .277SIGFury
>at least we should still get cheap .308 surplus as the Ukies arent taking it
6.5Creed will probably stay around as a PRS target comp special round and an optimum round for current AR10s, at least until .277Furry guns and ammo becomes common enough for civilian access
what the frick is a ukies
>leapfrog
fury is doa and everyone will follow so on after the dust settles like they always do

Necro thread?
>6.5cm
I know it's just a typo but if only
Haha. The girl of my wiener isnt even that big, and my wiener has killed millions of women.
I have aids tho. Probly the aids that killedthem more than my choadbomination
Neither. B&T is owned/operated by the same guy who fricked everyone with Mac over some SVDs.
>moronic poorgay still seething about being bad at reading

6.5 CD flies straighter at longer ranges than 308 does, but the major drawback is that it isn't as cheap to shoot. Ammo prices are governed heavily on economies of scale or the lack thereof. The most commonly used calibers are exponentially cheaper and more available than even slightly different ones that aren't used as widely.
If you expect to do a lot of shooting you should evaluate if the difference in running a newer less common caliber is worth the performance boost you seek. Alternatively, if you are willing to load your own and acquire the equipment/skill necessary to have those reloads be efficient and of high quality.
I'd have to evaluate both. Looking just on paper the B&T has better features since it's a lot like the SCAR. If you are looking at oddball calibers the B&T also has the ability to swap barrels.
Neither

277 furry is gonna steal 6.5 creedmoor's thunder
Maybe in a couple of decades when it's not just SIG making .277 Fury guns and their fancy new barrel technology isn't propitiatory anymore.
Assuming they haven't just been lying about the durability of their barrels.
Sig is lying.
Yeah i'm not taking their word for it until i see it for myself, it doesn't matter that it was one of the "requirements" of the program, especially since we can see in Garand Thumb's video or even on SIG's website that the high pressure 6.8 can't even reach 3000 fps out the13.5 inch barrel so god knows what else they are lying about.
please do not get me started on Sig / the NGSW program
The ammo was cool but i don't much care for bullpups.
6.5 creed offers advantages at ranges most people never shoot at. It’s much like platform discussions, in which people argue if a Laugo Alien is superior to a glock, when the advantages are there but do they really matter for the intended use? Most likely not. I rarely see people shoot >600 m regularly, distances at which 6.5 creed would be clearly the better choice.
Keep it simple.
Ar15 in 556
Glock in 9mm
Tikka in .308
Benelli m4 in 12 gauge
Ar10 in .308
MR73 in .357 Magnum
Reliable guns that will serve you a lifetime in calibers that are available and cost effective. All of these platforms can also be guccid out if you prefer to do so.
The APC6.5 will never see a different grip or handguard ever.
6.5 CM has the advantage of doing the same thing as 308 for most all applications you'd use a bolt gun for but a bit better with less recoil, with readily available match grade ammo you can hunt with.
There are plenty of semi-auto 6.5cm guns that you could find if you simply used google instead of posting this thread. Both the B&T and Galil are junk, buy a nice AR10.
Your wrong, and wrt to knowing good engineering youre a fatherfricking homosexual.
No offense
>If you were given the same price option on an iwi galil ace in 308 and a b&t apc308 which would you choose?
I don't really have an interest in either. I want the new Sig XM5 or a Custom AR10 build at half the cost.
