Never underestimate effect of any of following: Bad corporate management, bad marketing and politics. There are tons of good products, often better than competition and way ahead of competition that will fail to reach market.
That can't be right.
I mean the Peugeot 205 was the last good car the French homosexuals ever made, everything else has been utter shit.
>I mean the Peugeot 205 was the last good car the French homosexuals ever made, everything else has been utter shit.
Wrong.
They are still in business, but may have changed ownership few times over the years. Now they produce same thing with bit more reliable magazines and rails.
While politics and laws certainly affect firearms. There countless examples from other tech things where companies have fricked up everything due to bad management that doesn't believe their engineers or shit like market isn't ready for this. I have personally seen a touch screen and few years before Apple managed to sell one to public from Nokia. Too radical for the market or some bullshit like that.
Then there is the Osborne Effect. Announce product way better than your current product.... just to kill sales of your current product. That has happened with firearms few times. Recent example Hudson H9 pistol that was supposed to be best thing since sliced bread. They announced cheaper and lighter weight aluminum version of their new pistol and killed sales... of current inventory and went under shortly afterwards.
That is a really good question. They look cool and I don't think I have ever seen a review. Has any youtube guys ever done one? Anyone here actually own one?
I've got one.
It's cool for being one of the very first all Stainless 1911's ever made, but it's a bit rough around the edges.
I don't know if it's a product of it being old, a longslide specifically, or just the manufacturing in the first place, but it's got a lot of play between the slide and frame.
The slide is literally wobbling side to side, doesn't appear to affect accuracy or reliability since the barrel to bushing fit is good, but it's just a strange quirk of at least my gun.
I have heard a few stories of sears breaking in them because they weren't hardened properly though, haven't had that issue with mine at all.
AMT was infamous for quality control issues. Some of their guns run great, others are absolute dogshit. Remember that AMT was one of the companies known for making cheapass "saturday night specials". It's a flip of a coin. You might get a solid gun, you might get a doorstop.
I want a Hardballer longslide or government slide and an Automag II, just because I like the aesthetics of trashy 80's guns. My dad had an AMT backup and it was the shittiest jamomatic he ever owned so I wouldn't expect much from them.
if they were, they would still be making them
this logic applies to any firearm, car, et cetera
no exceptions
That can't be right.

If people are buying them, there must be a reason.
Yeah, because they don't make 205s anymore.

Wrong.
Shut up twinko
I would of liked to see what Calico would have become if it wasn't for the AWB. Perhaps any kinks could have been worked out.
Calico is still in business and you can buy new ones.
Really? I the website was supposed to be defunct.

not bad pistols actually... the long slide like pictured is hard to find though..i've maybe seen one or two at a time on gun broker
Only for Hitman/Terminator larping
They're just middling quality colt clones made before you could get any other 1911s in stainless
Nothing made by AMT was of remarkable quality
Get a Dan Wesson Valor and call it a day. Better quality for the price because nerds buy the Hardballers for their epic Agent 47 cosplays
>complains about stolen valor
>advertises stolen valor
Que?
What is wrong with that? All of this stuff is just us having fun. Who cares.
I own a Javelina 10mm longslide. I bought some Mec-Gar and Wilson Combat magazines and it has been perfect using Hornady 10mm.
wow that megastar is in great condition
Never noticed how much the Megastar looks like a Ruger P series.
