Does using anything but an A2 bird cage make me a horrible person? Am I really supposed to build my gun to not hurt anyone's fee-fees when I go to the range 3x a year?

I've got pic related on my 16", it's breddy gud
Is it really any louder than A2 birdcage?
frickload louder and more concussive
Ostensibly you're supposed to build your anything as if you actually plan on (and do) shoot it regularly. Tacmeme gadgets usually give the opposite impression, but if you don't care about that then it makes no difference. That said, a2 performs as good as any of the wacky flash hiders available today, so its not worthwhile to spend the extra money unless it's for the aesthetic
Do you really need a comp for 5.56? Competition shooters who are edging out that 1% of performance, sure. Putting holes in paper once a quarter, why?
I shoot 300 black and 6.5 grendel mostly, don't need it, want it.
I use it for hunting almost every day, take to public range for known distances and to meet other sperglords. I have private range for 'splodin soda cans.
I have a big comp on one 556 that is built out specifically for sustained rapid fire - in addition to a heavy barrel, exposed gas block, light trigger, etc. Having a bunch of hi speed low drag 556 rifles is boring.
A2 birdcage is literally one of the most useless things I can think of other than you Anons. It literally does nothing. Even brakes/compensators has the same flash signature on a 20" or a 16" and some of them don't even throw fricking flames like the A2 on shorter lengths. The A2 is just an glorified thread protector. There is a reason why it's so dirt cheap. Hi
wrong
>one of the most useless things
The Steyr tulip says hi
>Flash signature
>Hiding from north korean tower guards while sniping kim jong un
>Shooting coyotes from my porch
I'll be ok.
>it's okay that my flash hider doesn't hide flash because I didn't need to hide flash anyways
so you agree it's a thread protector
I know everyone here lives in a tacticool piss puddle dream, but I don't care about hiding flash from the bad guys anon. I care about handling, accuracy, and comfortable shooting
My issue with birdcages is they ring. I can hear high pitched sounds that most adults can't, and any time my muzzle touches brush it rings like a bell. Ruger's is worse than the A2, but they're all bad. I switched to a plain thread protector on my hunting rifle.
You are patently wrong
Frick ya mudda
you can do whatever you want, your dogshit gun will just be even worse when you put your blast can on it.
Anons be honest with me, is changing muzzle devices worth it for ARs if it's not to supress it? Outside of very short barrels, neither muzzle flash nor recoil is that big in 556, i did not experiment much with different muzzles however
no. unless you want an annoying tuning fork ting then maybe its worth it.
I like 5.56 least of all the calibers I own. It's the most annoying on the ears. Worth it is subjective, for me making my rifle shoot better is worth it as I shoot a lot.
boomers get pissed if you don't use suppressor or flash can and start showing their hostilities. that's when you increase your fire rate.
>boomers get pissed
You could've just stopped there
how do them blast deflectors work the muzzle brake pushes gases back and then the deflector pushed them forward again doesn't that make em less effective?
>Does using anything but an A2 bird cage make me a horrible person?
nope. i don't think i've got an a2 on any of my rifles. most of them have b.e. myers 249f's, my SP1 has a 3-prong, my xcr has a smith vortex.
