Any Brazilian bros around?
I have an appointment for the first part of selection (SG) and would really like to serve, do you guys, especially if you have served, have any advice? I don't wanna get weeded out
Any Brazilian bros around?

Hey dude I got no experience in the brazilian armed forces but I just want to say good luck
Thanks a lot, man, I'm every excited for it.
Eu quis dizer a primeira parte do processo, eu me alistei e agora fui chamado para a seleção geral, meu objetivo é servir no CPOR e depois engajar, você teria alguma dica?
Stonerbros...... not even the macacos want us anymore................ PistonCHADS are laughing at us AGAIN
Fala, irmão, primeira parte de qual seleção, não entendi.
Please help
>open zipper
Also, just say you want to serve, be a gold Yes Man, and always try to help your buddies.
Is it really that easy? Past couple of days got me a bit anxious because this selection is in about a week, I've read and watched a shitton about the process, but I fear not getting selected just because of bad luck, I'm in alright shape (17 pull ups, 50 push ups, 2 miles@12min), but you never know.
(17 pull ups, 50 push ups, 2 miles@12min)
That's pretty decent by US standards homie.
Godspeed brah. I've been trying on and off to learn Portuguese, too ADHD to stick with it for too long. Your country is cool so take care of it.
>That's pretty decent by US standards homie.
That's nice to know, thanks. Ever since I watched DJ's interview on SRS I've been using Green Team's PT standards lol, I'm nowhere close to it but it fuels me every time.
Thanks a lot, anon, and also, don't stop with the Portuguese, maybe try something gamified like Memrise (I used this one when I started learning English) or Duolingo, it'll make the process more fun and engaging, then when you reach B1/B2 you'll be able to learn a lot with just comprehesible input.
Don't let your dreams be dreams anon, go for it.
Thank you, anon. I'm going for it, I've spent the past few months training for it and also reading a lot about the whole process, I always wanted to be a soldier this will be a great opportunity, the only thing that makes me anxious is the fact that I might not get in due to reasons outside of my control, that is - they could already have met their quota.
I went there, said I didn't want to join the army and they gave me the certificate.
Army are a bunch of gay homosexuals
I'm doing the opposite, lol. How was the interview? Or did they just halt the process when you said that?
Not really, there was a military intervention in 2016 where armed forces took on a tactical LE kinda of role, it was pretty kino to watch SF/Comandos dudes running around the favelas with NODs hunting drug dealers.
Aren't they basically a second police force for their country? Lots of busting drug traffickers and urban fighting.
>Any Brazilian bros around?
Yes, but I never served, I said I didn't wanna serve and they just made me pledge allegiance to the flag and I went home.
As I asked the other anon, how was the interview? I wrote a couple of questions that have a high probability of being asked just to not sperg out.
It was in 2 phases.
>go to rua da cidadania
>go to the room where the army management is
>they ask for my documents
>ask if I wanna serve
>I say I do not wanna serve
>they give me a date and time to show in the closest army base
>go there at that date
>half an hour in a queue waiting everyone to arrive
>they take us to an auditorium
>start playing a war documentary in black and white
>5 minutes into the documentary, they start talking to us about the army and telling people to make them questions
>I ask about the army's salary
>the guy says the army doesn't have a salary, but they pay soldiers monthly to help with living expenses (a.k.a salary)
>the payment is like half a minimum wage for the first year (around $100) or something like that
>they ask who wants to serve
>they say to the people who don't wanna serve to wait outside
>after some minutes they take us to an area with a national flag and we start singing the national anthem
>after singing half of the anthem, the guy told us to stop because we are gonna et the lyrics wrong
>you can all go home now
Pretty much it.
With my brother was almost the same, but they wanted him to serve anyways, they took him to an examination room, saw they have some cavities and tell him he doesn't have to serve.
None of us had to take our clothes, that's probably only for people who are gonna serve.
I forgot to say, the first phase was going to that place on Rua da cidadania and the second phase was going to the army's base.
Today people just make an appointment at their website and go straight to the army's base.
>around $100
Damn dude, how long ago was that? My goal is to be a Reserve Officer so this salary is probably not appliable, but still, that's shitty af pay.
>With my brother was almost the same, but they wanted him to serve anyways
Why was that? Did he have the traits of a good soldier? If so, what are those traits?
It was 9 years ago.
>Why was that? Did he have the traits of a good soldier? If so, what are those traits?
No idea, we are talking about a 1,64m skinny and frail guy, no clue why they wanted him to serve.
>do you guys, especially if you have served, have any advice? I don't wanna get weeded out
Don't go looking like a subhuman and don't be moronic
oh shit i just noticed you actually want to serve lol
they only grab for conscriptions the ones that look subhuman the most, don't get conscripted
enter as a officer, it's way better you won't go anywhere as a conscript
You mean that I gotta look like a fricking mutt to get accepted? That won't be hard lol, although I'm in fairly good shape.
>enter as a officer, it's way better you won't go anywhere as a conscript
That's my goal, I can do that through conscription, that means I'll be a reserve officer. I don't wanna go to AMAN because my plan is to GTFO of the country in a couple of years.
>You mean that I gotta look like a fricking mutt to get accepted?
Yeah they get those so they can get them out of the streets and fix them
Fugg, I'm a non-thug brown dude, probably not their type.
That makes a lot of sense, anon. I don't want to underestimate my opponents tho.
>It's going to take years (Around 2 to 3 last I checked) for you to reach Officer that way
It's about 1 year actually, it's just highly competitive so not everyone is going to make the cut, but it still possible.
Roger that. What does "moronic" means in this context?
That's what I did, just enlisted in the site and waited for the date of the appointment.
Honestly, stop worrying about things that are out of your control. All you have to do is to keep your body PrepHole and your mind sharp. Be a good jogger, that's what's the most important I'd say, as it builds both fitness and general resistance. Then keep the habit of reading and studying, and you will probably be enjoying the good army life soon enough. Be honest about it and say to people that you want to serve.
Thank you for the advice, anon.
>Be honest about it and say to people that you want to serve.
In regards to this, I'm still trying to rationalize why I have always been so drawn to the military world to give them a good answer.
9 years was a long time ago, but hopefully the process hasn't changed too much, in your opinion - do you think the average 18yr old dude wants to serve? It seems to me that most dudes my age don't want to, but there's still somehow not enough slots.
>No idea, we are talking about a 1,64m skinny and frail guy, no clue why they wanted him to serve.
I think I have a chance now.
>9 years was a long time ago, but hopefully the process hasn't changed too much, in your opinion - do you think the average 18yr old dude wants to serve?
Not at all.
ymfvt
>- do you think the average 18yr old dude wants to serve? It seems to me that most dudes my age don't want to, but there's still somehow not enough slots.
Let me spell it out for you: The military is used as an adult daycare for the poor. The poor want to go to the military because they get fed, clothed and paid. That's why you don't have enough slots.
If you really want to serve, enter as an officer. Entering as enlisted when you have more than a single braincell is the worst possible thing to do.
>That's my goal, I can do that through conscription
It's going to take years (Around 2 to 3 last I checked) for you to reach Officer that way. You are going to be treated like a moronic janitor that gets to handle a firearm from time to time.
What's the Huehue physical fitness test?
Damn, look at that date bro.
It depends on the unit, the one I'm talking about is easy af - 3 pull ups, 26 sit ups, 2100meters in 12 min. Other more specializaded units such as the paratroopers, SF, Comandos, Jungle warfare, mountaineers, have much higher standards
Thank you.
Hey anon, ex-army corporal and ex-EsPCEx student here (got discharged for medical reasons). Unless you're planning on not staying after 8 years, I wouldn't advise serving at all, use the time you get to study to either get admitted on EsSA or EsPCEx, it's a very hard test. While I did learn alot on my mandatory service, I wouldn't trade it for time to study.
secundado
this filha da puta sabe o que a foda está falando
Forgot to say. Yes, your average conscript is really, really dumb, don't expect much unless you're serving in the paratrooper/jungle brigades.
>got to shoot my ParaFal maybe twice in a year
>didn't do much besides guard duty and helping civilians during rain season
Wanna absolutely join? Pick a unit of your taste, register to serve in the city where it's locatted, and get the maximum amount of physical training that you can, specially on push ups and running fast during long periods of time.
Also, if you're locatted in Rio, don't serve for the love of god, you just gonna get shit pay and killed for no reason at all.
I don't plan on staying after I graduate Uni, my goal, as I stated b4, is to GTFO of the country as soon as that happens. I have nothing but respect for the ESA and AMAN dudes, but it's not really what I want. Corporal in this case means you were a conscript, right? Can you tell me more about the initial interview?
I wanna get my COS and PQD tabs and hopefully move to Manaus. Would love to serve in 1º BAC tho or just Goiania.
Your chances of being able to do that as a conscript are close to zero.
Also yeah, this anon is kinda right, you won't get to do "cool" operational stuff unless you're in Rio. Very very few conscripts get selected to do operational courses. I don't even think they allow conscripts to join the Comandos anymore, just sargeants and above. Try your local unit for simplicity sake and see how it goes, if you like them, risk it and try the professional careers.
Why is that? I get the 1ºBAC thing because they don't take in reserve guys, but why would I not be able to get the airborne and jungle warfare tabs?
Nice to hear your story, what are you up to nowadays?
>because alot of corruption is involved in the selection process
I heard a lot about that, they call them "peixes", right? I'm putting all my chips on this table, my plan is to make myself so desirable that they have no choice but to take me in, even if the officer kids get in, there's still almost 200 slots and I bet not all of them are "peixes", the goal is to ace pt in a way that the second guy is far away from me, same goes for the intelectual exams, I have been studying for them as if I it were EsPCEx, I even got Eustaquio's whole collection haha.
Most probably I won't get to do those cools things, especially being a Comando, but it will be a very gratifying experience and a great opportunity, especially financially lol
>Why is that?
Because you are a conscript. If you are smart enough, you will be trained as an electrician or mechanic. You will receive very little training in firearms. They will teach you personal hygene and brushing your teeth. Sometimes, you will do sentry duty with a FAL. You will get no ammunition for it.
>corporal means you were a conscript
Sort of, I did my mandatory year, then got selected to do the corporal course, I accepted and signed a contract. Then later I passed on the EsPCEx (and also EsSA) test.
If you serve on a regular unit, you won't have time to do Uni at all, it's a full time job, unless you're doing online uni or serving in a reserve unit like TG/Tiro de Guerra, they are a program that you serve for like 3-4 hours a day then get to go home (no option to sign latter though). If you wanna serve on a operational unit, like paras/jungle, you will have to move to where they are locatted and then sign up when your year comes up.
CPOR/NPOR is complicatted, because alot of corruption is involved in the selection process, lots of officers kids usually join and get to skip the processess to join and steal the avaliable spaces. While the pay is good IF you get a invitation after graduating officer course.
Brasilia is even worse in that regard, and you probally get assigned to admin duty, which is really, really boring (worked at S1 myself).
Good luck on your choice anon!
And yes, sorry I'm kinda drunk rn, but my initial interview was pretty simple. They just get your basic data like birth date, parents name and stuff, ask if you want to serve, and some of your measurements for clothing. If you still pass to the second phase, they will call a doctor to do the physical exams, and then, on the third call (varies from unit to unit) do the TAF (Teste de Aptidão Física). Mine was really simple, 15 push ups, 1 chin up, 20 abdominais, and 2km in 12 minutes. If you wanna join, don't tell them that you're either working or at uni, you might get discharged.
Tell them you make a mean sopa de macaco and they'll let you right in
OP should give a long, hard look at EsSA.
I don't plan on staying on the country for a long time, for this reason, being a reserve officer is more profitable, that's why I don't wanna go to either ESA or AMAN.
You fricking idiot, you already lost the chance of becoming an temporary officer. BEFORE fricking enlisting you should have asked if you could do the test, now RUN to the tiro de guerra before you live the worst life a man can live.
No, not yet, that'd be the case if I had already gone to selection, but I only did the enlistment process on the army website, I'm going to volunteer during the interview.
I don't think that's the case with officers tho, wouldn't make sense to send an Lt. for sentry duty.
That's great to know, thanks. I was really worried about it because this is one of the phases that I don't have much control over besides saying that I want to serve, no amount of training and studying will get me past a grumpy Sgt lol
>>I don't think that's the case with officers tho, wouldn't make sense to send an Lt. for sentry duty.
If you really think a CPOR Lt. Is treated the same way as an Aman Lt or even an ESA Sgt, then you are even more clueless than you sound. You are in for a rough surprise.
To be honest I have no idea what an R2 Lt. does, only thing I know is that as far as the pay goes, you receive as much as Aman dude. Can you explain a bit more about that? I'd really like to know what they do.
Essentially, you are seen as a useless privileged freerider know nothing that's gonna be shown the door in a couple of years. In other words, you are seen exactly as you are. No training for you either. It would be wasted.
Also, you are a peixe, aren't you?
Frick, that was hard to digest.
>Also, you are a peixe, aren't you?
No, not at all actually.
>41 years
>41 years for shitposting online
41 years making love to Uncle BIlly just because he couldn't keep his mouth shut lol
Se você for rejeitado por algum motivo idiota, tenha certeza que algum peixe pegou sua vaga.
É o meu maior medo, mas também não é possível que todas as vagas sejam preenchidas por peixes.
>using your newly found SOF skills to make women hostage
Also, no ammo in your guns. Ever.
What's the point of being an ammoless sentry?
Ammo is only for real Sgts and Lts
>go to army
>dont wanna serve
>pass physical test
>have complete second degree
>like 50 guys, me and 4 get selected
>get invited to PQD (parachuter) program
>$1k raise a month for life up to 50k a month
>they even let you do college
>refuse; having a trade was more important for me
>have money today; buying my military training and simultaneously slowly buy my heritage guns
>all this without sacrificing my life to freemasonry central
I dont know, OP. God may want you to serve differently.
my military training
Holy shit, is it really for sale in Brazil?
You can pay for training. Army personnel sell their knowledge for pennies. Especially military police. They love being teachers, some will even train you on airsoft fields and shooting ranges.
* Yes. Regardless of your answer they select you and you get your reservist certificate. After the invitation its up to you to show up or not. I did just to know what was being offered.
* All of them had finished second degree school and could do 10 pull-ups and 30 push-ups. One got selected with only 7 pull-ups, so I guess its not set in stone, only to check general physical builds.
* I got a perfect score. There were many who also did but did not get selected because of school requirements. They did not select any who didnt finish. So I guess school is more important than physical fitness for this specific program.
This was like 15 years ago. Not sure how its being done nowadays.
If that is what you want, be ready to get severely disappointed. If you dont its a positive.
Thank you for the detailed explanation, anon.
I hope it still works in a similar way, I've already finished high school and I'm working on joining Uni. What does a perfect score mean here? Did you just blow everyone out of the water?
>If that is what you want, be ready to get severely disappointed
I'm ready for it, man, don't care at all if it sucks, only thing that matters is how it'll contribute to the plan.
It means I managed to run 100m in a set amount of time (irrelevant; time was very lax, i think its to cut the fatties, and almost all fat guys got cut here), do like 10 push-ups and 5 pull-ups. They tell you to do as many as you can. Then after you do it, those that get a good physical score get selected to PQD. But they mentioned they cannot accept everyone that is willing to join and would consider all those that were willing. Those that got a good score before the certificate get chosen to enroll PQD and it is explained what it is required. So they only tell what is required after you do. Some get picked to repeat the push/pull up test again. Again, only 5 of us got selected; and the recruiter explained the school part so it is clear the PT is not the most important part if you can barely go through it.
Oh, nice. I wish I could serve in a PQD brigade but here the best I can get is CPOR, at least the pay is good. Speaking of fatties, one of these days I saw a doldier (private) who looked like a fricking hambeast, I'm still wondering how that fricker got in lol. Again, thank you for sharing you experience.
It seems that they only take those who want to serve, and even then the amount of people that want it exceed the quota.
>But I think you'll be fine
I hope so lol, I'm still a bit anxious about it but most people have related a smooth experience.
>me and 4 get selected
I got a couple of question if you don't mind.
First, on the first interview you said you didn't want to serve and they sent to the second phase (TAF) nonetheless? Out of the 50 guys only 5 got selected, what traits did these guys exhibit? Last, what were the PT standards and what was your score?
>I dont know, OP. God may want you to serve differently.
It's an important step in my plan, man, it's non-negotiable, I have no idea what I'm gonna do if I don't get selected. All my chips are on this.
OP should grow a pair, tell his parents to back off and just join Aman, Essa or Escola Naval. He will regret it forever if he doesn't. Forever.
Those are great institutions, but by doing so I wouldn't be able to follow through with my plan, as I said, it's a very important part of it.
You are not that rich Brazilian vidya kid that wants to be Delta or some shit, are you? Please Tell me you are not him.
Well, I'm not rich lol, nor do I play video games.
How in the actual frick did you make this wild yet precise guess?
Am I being profiled? Time to go to the woods I guess
The guys in the 5th light infantry battalion were pretty cool. Amicable hosts. For the most part I was pleasantly surprised by how competent they were. Until we got to individual marksmanship anyway.
As a foreign born national you aren't getting into delta. The only foreigner in a socom unit I've met was a brazilian who was in the FFL before joining the US army.
It's a rich vidya kid, anon. Keep that mind.
>As a foreign born national you aren't getting into delta
Even when I get the American citizenship? I know I won't be able to sign an 11B Option 40 right away, but I can still be Infantry and start working my way up when I'm granted citizenship.
Yes even with American citizenship. They aren't going to pick you. I've met 3 people who were selected to try out in my entire career. Only 1 passed. All 3 of them were well over 200lbs lean and the most hard ass people I've encountered in the service. They don't even look at you unless you are
A) a physical monster. One of the dudes who failed could rep out 3pl8 and comfortably sprint with an 80lb ruck.
B) extremely proficient. Expect to be a top performer in your unit for at least 8 years before your name even pops up on their radar. You're gonna need a lot of schools too. Nobody wants a 1 trick pony.
C) eligible for the highest security clearance(easiest part of theist so far unless you are a foreign national(you))
You aren't cut out for it. If you wanna be high speed go be a commando for your own nation or get into the FFL's more selective teams.
>Yes even with American citizenship
And why is that? Even the glowies accept people with dual-citizenship, this is from the CIA's website:
"You must be a U.S. citizen or a dual-national U.S. citizen to work at CIA"
https://www.cia.gov/cia-requirements/
Also, what about guys like Tu Lam? He was in SF.
>You aren't cut out for it.
Again, why? The only thing you listed that might present itself as a problem is the TS/SCI, which I can theoritecally get as a citizen.
Glowies accept anybody with training, bilingual and aspd. As far as I know delta don't want people willing to bat for someone else's team even if it's theirs. Become a commando and maybe you'll get to train with them. Otherwise just expect to never actually achieve your goals.
>Also, what about guys like Tu Lam? He was in SF.
He wasn't in delta. What's your point?
>Again, why? The only thing you listed that might present itself as a problem is the TS/SCI
Do you think the entire US military is a joke? You're 50 push-ups aren't enough. You aren't strong enough. You have 0 training. You have 0 mental resilience. Pack 40kg of food, clothes, and some bull shit equipment you don't even want to carry and March 30km in 4 hours across a mountain range. Can't do that? Congrats you failed to achieve the very first hurdle of delta selection. That's just the physical side. You better start sleeping outside especially in the rain if you want to start toughening your mind. And get used to not sleeping at all. All the boring, painful, unsexy things regular armies do delta does. If you want it so bad why waste your time with the brazilian army? Just join the US Army as an alien. No point wasting your time for a resume that nobody will care about.
>He wasn't in delta. What's your point?
That's a very close step to CAG, no?
>Do you think the entire US military is a joke?
Not at all, man. What I mean by that is that the physical aspect is a trainable thing, I know my 50 push-ups aren't enough, I'm not going to stop at it. I don't meet the standards yet, whatever they are, but this is a long-term thing and I'm training everyday.
>Just join the US army as an alien.
I don't have the green card and there's no feasible way for an 18 year dude with no connections to anyone in the US to achieve it, I'm going to Uni for a STEM degree, that'll be my foot in the door.
>No point wasting your time for a resume that nobody will care about.
It's not for the resume, man, the things I'll do here are very basic.
Thank you for your honesty, I've made some threads discussing this topic here on /k/ and all the replies have been extremely useful.
I know half a dozen people who were smuggled in from Mexico as children with 0 paperwork in the US army. Save some money, get a travel visa, and just never leave. Talk to a recruiter when you get here. The youngest person I've heard of picked to even attempt selection was 25. He has been in rangers for 7 years. You're road is going to be very long if it's possible at all.
Yeah I was doing some grunt stuff. It was pretty cool. I always like learning how other nations train. Still bummed I couldn't shoot an ia2 since I was stuck as a safety on the range day.
>>Save some money, get a travel visa, and just never leave. Talk to a recruiter when you get here.
I was more like hoping you had a link to join Delta.
https://www.delta.com/us/en/careers/overview
That gives me a lot of hope, I'll def do that, I'm poor af right now but once I have enough money I'm buying the ticket.
>You're road is going to be very long if it's possible at all.
True that. From what I've heard they're more senior guys, lots of experience, on the bright side of this is that I'll have lots of time to carve out a nice resume before dropping a packet. I'm on the assumption that it is indeed possible even tho it's very hard, I just keep in mind that whatever stands in the way becomes the way.
>Still bummed I couldn't shoot an ia2 since I was stuck as a safety on the range day.
lol, did you get to shoot the FAL at least or was it just one range day? Sounds like a nice experience, I read one of these days about some West Point guys coming for a visit over here, must've been nice too. Did you guys do a lot of exchanges with us hues or was it a very sporadic thing?
lmao, that's not me.
>> I'll def do that, I'm poor af right now but once I have enough money I'm buying the ticket.
Like your parents would let you lmao
>did you get to shoot the FAL
No the Brazil poors didn't actually bring any ammo. Just a few rifles. We brought our own ammo and none of it was 7.62x51
>The guys in the 5th light infantry battalion were pretty cool. Amicable hosts
That's nice af, I've heard about a lot about our troops doing training exchanges, especially the SOF guys. Are you infantry/ranger?
OMG it's that inssuferable rich kid again
I just said that I didn't want to serve, pledged allegiance to the flag and went home. I have relatives who went into the army but they all went a long ago so I don't think their experience will be of any help. But I think you'll be fine
