Winter is the best time of year to go out for walks. Before dawn and twilight hour are the best times to go. Just go for a walk without any headphones or anything and take a look at the sky and the moon above the tree tops. All you need to do is invest in winterized clothing, which should be easy if you go outdoors.
There's a special place in my heart for winter. Yes, being slowly frozen to death for 1/4 of the year sucks. Having to hike over snow where there used to be a path also sucks. 16 hours of darkness per day sucks. All 3 of these things suck on their own, but combine all of the good aspects and it more than evens out. Crisp, ice cold air, water, and ground stimulate the mind and body in such a different way than anything else. Seeing the sun low in the sky at noon makes you appreciate the days when it's high and not shining directly in your eyes for most of the day. And of course, the white beauty of snow, such a mysterious yet simple thing that, on a clear day, shines brighter than any other surface and blends into the horizon. All this magic happening all at once is a treasure.
>another month and a half of frozen hellscape >another month and a half
Try another 4 months, and that's until spring, not summer.
Don't hate winter, but just had -20 for a month straight, gotta say I miss summer a little bit right now.
It's also more than 2 months since the sun was last visible here, it should technically be back this week, but it's overcast now, of course.
I'll be moving to the lower end of Lapland in about a year.
I like winter and snow and I suffer if temps hit upwards of 25 C.
you seem to be from above the arctic circle,
can you give me a realistic estimate on how hard winter is for you in terms of PrepHole ?
how do you deal with darkness, do you just slap on a headlamp ?
does it even bother you much anymore ?
>you seem to be from above the arctic circle,
Yeah, born and raised up here >can you give me a realistic estimate on how hard winter is for you in terms of PrepHole ?
Not really an issue, we get periods that get real fricking cold, just stay inside for the worst of it.
The biggest issue with the winter here, are vehicles not starting, and issues arising due to shit freezing and breaking, including infrastructure, but usually only minor stuff.
Going PrepHole here at this time of the year does require a lot of knowledge, and you should always pack enough to get through SHTF scenario, as weather can turn really quickly, and the forecast is suddenly completely off.
You will die if you get caught off guard without being prepared, or at least run a pretty high risk, but just use your head and you'll be fine. >how do you deal with darkness, do you just slap on a headlamp ?
PrepHole is pretty cozy in the dark period, that and alcohol is how I deal with the dark.
Headlamp and alcohol, makes it bearable. >does it even bother you much anymore ?
That is one thing that actually gets worse over time, at least for me, have lived almost all my life in the north (@70 degrees north), the darkness does feel worse now than when I was younger.
borderline subtropical, its not that mild, but its certainly not the coldest
in fairness, it did warm up a little today so I think my prayers got a little answered
What a dumb post. He's obviously referring to OTHER people's dogs leaving shit around you absolute fricking moron.
Yes, I was referring to other people not picking up the shit from their mutts shitting all over the trails here.
Really fun to ride one of the bike trails and get literal feces thrown in your face by the front wheel.
Dogshit under your shoes, dogshit on your pant legs, dogshit fricking everywhere.
If I make a cup of coffee on a cozy fire, I)'ll probably get dogshit in my coffee as well.
I absolutely hate spring, and it's purely due to shitty dog owners.
God I hate whiners. Nobody's forcing you to live in "frozen hellscape" are they? Either suck it up or move to a state like Florida, Arizona or Hawaii that's warm year-round and never receives any snow. b***hing about it on 4chinz isn't going to help.
those states have other things that suck
florida is flat and full of crazy far right boomers who hate freedom, arizona ditto but its a hot desert and hawaii is an overpriced tourist island
Yep, reached 31C here today. Cicadas are PrepHole, good times.
Learn to ski
it is, like most things in like, simply a matter of skill
Im more of a hockey guy
I hate rain. It was snowy and cozy here, just warmed up and rained for 4 days str8. Frick being constantly soggy
>Im more of a hockey guy
A good option for people who live places that are very cold, but flat.
You only need 200x50 feet of flat for a rink, and a water source. This shouldn't be hard to find, even in the moutains.
>poorgay who can afford to fly to Florida and expire the Everglades in winter
Sucks to suck. Stay the frick in Canada, Rajash
>expire the Everglades
expire in* the Everglades

winter is literally peak PrepHole time.
less people out
beautiful snow scapes
hunting seasons
winter sports
fire more cozy
Plants mostly dormant or killed back. Gets dark sooner. There are still things to do but it's not as good.
What is with you summer gay tourist and complaining about the cold lately?
ITS TOO COLD I DONT LIKE IT

>no bugs
>empty trails
>ice skating, skiing, snow shoeing
>giant cozy camp fires
>clean crisp air
>beautiful
People who don't like winter are outing themselves as not white and need to go back to their homeland.
spring is superior
Wrong, spring is the only season that sucks.
Wet and all the dogshit from winter thaws out, literal dogshit I mean.
Dogshit everywhere, I hate spring.
The great thing about dogs is you aren't required to own them
What a dumb post. He's obviously referring to OTHER people's dogs leaving shit around you absolute fricking moron.

Powerline ruins the mood.
Best time of the year.
PS frick off

So find another place that's more to your liking.
gimme 50,000 bucks
>doesn't even have the ability to earn $50,000
Sad
I'm poor don't bully me!
winter is hands down the best time of the year, closely followed by summer
