Generally? Not good compared to America and other first world countries. America has the basic amount of life standard, infrastructure and medical care and also quality of life to be considered first world. All the third world countries pale in comparison to america because they lack all the basic quality of life stuff that america has. On the contrary, it's as strict as ever. If you're not in the top 10 of the HDI don't @ me. It seems you did not read my post correctly, as I mentioned countries that outrank America on the HDI, which would arguably have better overall quality of life than America, and the rest.

You are really, really fricking stupid. Fortunately your politics has outed your insufferability on the international stage, so we don't even have to entertain your reputation out of pity now.
>demographics
Irrelevant. >life expectancy
The life expectancy is within the first world. It dropped during COVID but rose up again a few years later. America is first world and anybody saying otherwise is just coping at this point.
I was issued small regular uniforms in boot camp when I was 143lb and I continued to believe that was my size for the next three years until I was 170lb and I realized my top pants button and bottom cammie button shouldn't be a struggle to fasten, but at that point I was a year out and buying multiple new medium short or medium reg uniforms made no sense. Also my small regs were salty. Big regret of mine, I missed out on peak comfy.
If you go to bootcamp and they tell you you're small reg, lie to the civilians and tell them medium reg for your own good. Go one size up on pt uniforms and shirts too
Aren't they all inconsistent in size? Medium regular typically goes from 31-35 in waist. If you're a size 30 or even 29, its probably better to get a medium regular because you will grow into it later down.
I can't stand training in oversized clothes. Run in baggy jeans and a big jacket and it's like heavy wind resistance while your clothes bounce around. Throw a punch in a baggy tshirt and it flips and spins around on you. Definitely don't go full compressiontard but baggy shit isn't comf at all. Well fitted clothes are.
This is one way we can identify amerishart soldiers since everyone wears the same camo patterns now. Look for the fatasses in baggy clothes doing the American lean.
I can't stand the sensation of relatively tight clothes clinging to my sweaty body. Honestly, it's probably less sanitary too because of all the extra bacteria that will get into your clothes if you don't let some of the sweat evaporate off your body.
I didn't say tight I said fitting, also if you're wearing polyester you deserve to be uncomfortable. Do you know why it makes your body odor smell different? Smell a girl's armpits for once virgin, it's literally turning your B.O. into girl B.O. which is that sour smell. You're wearing and absorbing plastic moron, as well as leeching microplastics into our water supply when you wash it. Throw all your polyester clothes and sheets into the recycle bin and only buy cotton and wool from now on.
>muh polyester >muh microplastic
Nobody should fear monger over that bullshit. There hasn't been that long of a study in regards to microplastics and the clothes made of Synthetic material don't get absorbed into your skin. What causes those odor is bacteria getting trapped in the clothes. Polyester is generally more hydrophobic than cotton, so it doesn't really absorb the shit and it stays there until it gets rinsed off. Nobody should limit their clothing attire to cotton/whool. Because not only are they horrible in some environments, they are also fragile and more proned to freezing.
Synthetic materials like polyester/nylon are shown to increase the durability of the clothes when mixed with cotton. Along with being more resistant towards fading too. Microplastics is a nothing burger for now since even now scientists don't know the long term effects from them. Another thing to note is that our bodies has shown to filter themout whenever we pee, so they don't really stay in our bodies forever.
They can’t do a good study cause they can’t find anyone without micro plastics in them to act as a control group. I guess you could kidnap some I contacted Amazonian or Sentinelese Islander

Anonymous
Another thing to note is that it's also difficult to find a link/causation between microplastics and health problems. Sometimes health issues is related to their poor lifestyle than something related to microplastics. Its difficult and there is a lack of evidences against microplastics aside from it being detected in your blood before pissed out.
>Run in baggy jeans and a big jacket and it's like heavy wind resistance while your clothes bounce around.
Jeans and your average civilian jacket are completely different than a set of military fatigues. Much thinner material, and if it's made with a hot climate in mind they generally have loads of small vents so you aren't super stuffy
Although i do agree with you that buying oversized generally isn't a good idea, going with your size with milsurp will almost always lead to a better looking fit while still being roomy enough to not have your mobility hindered
Jeans are different from ACUs/combat uniforms. They feel different too if you're doing any sort of physical activity. Baggy jeans in general are not good for high speed stuff. While combat uniforms are more smooth and comfortable. Along with having a good balance between being baggy and not baggy.
I don’t know uniform regulations, but couldn’t you tuck your pants into your boots to help with that? Baggy shirts, you’re only option would be tightening the elastic or buttons on the wrists, since no one in the US armed forces seems to use elbow pads anymore
>elbow pads
Maybe if you're using a combat shirt with crye knee/elbow inserts. But strapped pads are uncomfortable to wear for a long time and you might as well wear crye cutted uniforms. Its also why many soldiers wearing strapped kneepads loosened them up to the point of it falling down to the ankles.
Aren't they all inconsistent in size? Medium regular typically goes from 31-35 in waist. If you're a size 30 or even 29, its probably better to get a medium regular because you will grow into it later down.
The UK forces have a saying that all uniform comes in two standard sizes; Too Big and Too Small
did the marines corpse got lax with boot straps? if i was that female marine I wouldn't last two seconds outside without some SNCO yelling at me about my uniform
Going by the pics of Russian soldiers and the surplused gear I see online, they seem to prefer the oversuits. Tradition I guess, or maybe they prefer it since any Russian 40 and under grew up wearing adidas
It kinda works well for both hot and cold climate. If it's cold you can layer underneath and if it's hot you have loose clothing to create that pocket of air between your clothes to keep cool. Most countries have uniforms meant for a specific climate but the US needs to have it work everywhere so it makes it a bit harder.
They're not, at least not by a large margin. Compare them to combat/utility uniforms of other NATO countries, they're quite similar and all use the same sizing.
1: They're meant to be a little baggy to aid in mobility, thats what basically any military with a standardized uniform has done since military uniforms started going for practicality instead of looking kickass while you slaughter tribals. Buy a set of fatigues from basically any civilized country in your size and it's gonna fit the same way
2: They have loads of shit in their pockets, so of course its gonna make it look shittier
Looser fit clothes allow more flexibility and are easier to move in. This has been known since antiquity. Tight fitting trousers are an artifact of Victorian British fashion where tight fitting pants and other impractical clothes were chosen to demonstrate that they had such a life of wealthy leisure that they didn't need practical clothing. In practical situations, looser trousers were always preferable (pic rel)
The American look is mostly driven by the fact they blouse their trousers over their boots while some other countries tuck them snugly. This is again, inferior as it particularly limits knee flexion.
Very much this.
t. wore skinny jeans to my first two gun shooting comp. Ripped my pants halfway through the very first stage and had to complete the rest of the day with my nuts hanging out.
It's issued before deployment. The
IHWCW uniform is slimmer fitting too and is standard issue
https://i.imgur.com/iDHl3CN.jpg
Doesn't look slimmer to me.
Those are army contracted combat pants. They are flame resistant crye style pants and those type of pants are usually more slim fit because of the kneepad slots. Those type of pants are typically issued when on deployments at times. But most soldiers wear regular ACU/FRACU uniforms, which are typically baggy.
I've never understood that weird puffy look that Russian gear has. You see some footage of mobiks and they look like they're wearing a fricking mascot costume they can barely move in.
Seems it'd impede movement and snag on everything. Western kit might be baggy but never in a way where it looks like it'd make it a nightmare crawling through some bushes.
Russian military has 2 uniforms. One for summer and the other for winter. The summer uniform is made of ripstop fabric(probably polyester/cotton) and its pretty thin. Their winter uniform is more thick and it has insulation that keeps the individual warm. The main problem is that their winter uniforms is bulky and you're also more proned to injuries from fires because the materials they use as insulation/cold resistant is likely flammable and can potentially melt on your skin.
The sizes are kind of stupid. I was too big for medium reg pants so I had to wear large reg even though they were too big. That, combined with the fact that your uniforms at basic are issued by fat black middle aged woman civilians who don’t really care if your uniform fits well, and then most soldiers keep wearing that same size
>Tucking is uncomfortable for me.
I can't imagine it being comfortable for any personnel actually doing shit in the field, either exercises or real shit. Blousing is comfy, and does a better job of keeping shit out of your boots than tucking, by far.
It's cooler. Temperature wise. It's more comfortable, less rashes and skin issues dries faster, easier to repair. If you fire hits you it burns you less. Less like to tear, easier to gear up. They have low drag clothes but it's moronic to wear skinny pants. Like in general. Especially when you are running.
But most importantly
When you get shot parts of the clothes get driven into your body and that's where infection gets bad. Looser clothes result in much less fabric going in. That's how you know when a military is moronic. Like the Russians, Chinese, indians, pakis. You don't wear tight close especially tight pants at war.
Americans prize comfy and wear baggier clothes usually. Nut crunchers come into style here and there and then fall out of it. We're back to our traditional, baggier ways now.
Standardization. Instead of making 12 different sizes of uniform, the US just makes 3 sizes and then biases larger. Fitting a small man into a big uniform is fine, if comical, but fitting a big man into a small uniform is just...bad.
My old woodland bdu pants I wear are big enough that they’ll sag without a belt, but small enough that the little adjustment straps on the sides are already too tight to do anything
tfw small acu pants are just slightly too tight but mediums are ridiculously huge on me
Sizes in small-medium-large varies. Medium is between 31-35 and large is 36-39. If you chose medium, you're more likely to get a 34 or 32 in waist. Its up to you to adjust the sizes by tailoring your uniforms.
This was during the surge, I think 2008. Looks like nasty girls (National Guard). I don't think new friends know how close the USA was too a draft during the bad old days. Dirt bags were kept in service, stop loss was going, and there were tax free bonuses for staying in.
Pretty sure that dude is on the medical roids, which made him gain a bit of weight. Aside from that, the sizing in American uniforms are made to fit with whatever waist size. Its a matter of style like the pants being baggy regardless of accurate sizing.
I went on Depakote for headaches 10 years ago and I never gained more than 15lbs, this guy is just a fat slob. The whole medical weight gain thing is used usually by women who have no self control
Medical steroids does 2 things.
1. It slows down your metabolism
2. It also makes you crave for more food. Regardless, the pizza is likely for his unit than anything.
>baggy
Have you seen Russian camo suits? They’ve been baggier than that forever, seems to be a tradition started with their first camo suits in the late 30’s and WWII. I guess the idea was a one-size fits all and can cover your gear. For our camo though, it might only be because bagginess helps break up the human silhouette, which we can instinctually recognize. Also fighting in the desert for almost 30 years probably helped, since you’d want airflow
>camo suits
Those camo suits are meant to be outer wear, they are obviously baggy for the sake of putting over clothing. Regular russian uniforms are less baggy and more straight fit like other European militaries.
Remember the 3 C's
1. Camouflage. It's better to break up the human silhouette.
2. Comfort. Easier to move and ventilate.
3. Cargo. If you're in the field you WILL use all those little pockets for little stuff rather than messing up your ruck.
Exactly how baggy are pants supposed to be? I wanted to get Multicam Tropic pants and the only one I could find were Tru-spec (the other being crye but its too expensive for me)
Despite being my size the leg portion is insanely loose and feels very uncomfortable to walk in. Feels like I'm wearing parachute pants.
Was considering tapering it a bit so it's still baggy but just a bit more fitted
Honestly the military just has people that work there and they're like 9/10 times your right. A few years down the line if you want to argue about it your chain of command hates you and wants you to quit and will never allow you to talk to these people again. They'll say everything like you can't change a boot size, it's your waist problem and try to frick you over. If you get the people the military has trying to figure out your size they can come up with the oddest like it's into the smallest inch of a measurement and they're fricking right just eye balling it. They don't ever send you to someone like that again.
I made some kind of spell mistake or auto corrected it wrong, I mean like 9/10- their right, they eye balled you, they fitted you, it fits for what you're at. They're freakishly right at this stuff. If you had to eye ball and guess at something they'll never let you go to get it fixed and you'll end up getting some kind of fricking disability over it. Never doubt the people guessing this shit they just know show you can't possibly for reasons you could comprehend but can't. If there is any reason you got to complain save it up for your boots not fitting. Otherwise they're going to say you bought after market and blah blah frick your doctors note kinda shit. They're amazing at what they do and it's a fricking super power.
I mean it's on your leadership if your boot size was wrong on stuff these psychic people didn't do, they tell you to guess. Just do what they say or you're probably wrong.
When they tell you your size ask about your steel toes and you'll save yourself a lot of trouble, possibly. You can't change those b***hes in but once a year and your leadership will deny you doing it and try to make you wear them every day be awake beyond regulations i don't care I break profile. Foot wear is the only place you really ever want to question these people because they're freakishly right about everything.
The synthetic material made it so it doesn't stick to the clothes. If it was pure cotton, the clothes will become sticky as frick. I was tired of getting denims soak because they often stick to my skin and become a pain to take off. BDUs/ACUs with nylon/cotton blend doesn't do that. Its also why the military strayed away from 100% cotton. People who prance around the idea od wearing natural materials 24/7 should try to wear all cotton clothes in the winter/rainy seasons.

On the contrary, it's as strict as ever. If you're not in the top 10 of the HDI don't @ me. It seems you did not read my post correctly, as I mentioned countries that outrank America on the HDI, which would arguably have better overall quality of life than America, and the rest.
>strict as ever
Black person, you're loosely considering many countries to be third world when they aren't. Thats way too loose of a definition you got there.
This unironically. Brown people tend to not absorb vit d as well when they migrate. And at least in murica they are dumbasses who dont understand nutriotiondjso
>all those countries except Norway are third world
You really have a loose consideration on whats considered third world.
>And how do those poor and corrupt cities/states in the US stack up to those in leading nations, say, the top 10 on the HDI? Or even the top 15. There are no second place winners but there are thirdies, and they're all Yanks
Generally? Not good compared to America and other first world countries. America has the basic amount of life standard, infrastructure and medical care and also quality of life to be considered first world. All the third world countries pale in comparison to america because they lack all the basic quality of life stuff that america has. Ranging from livable wage, good quality healthcare(regardless of cost) and also job opportunities.
>And I'm coping and seething
Thats whats happening. Go be mad someplace else.
>no u
Every accusation is a confession
You are really, really fricking stupid. Fortunately your politics has outed your insufferability on the international stage, so we don't even have to entertain your reputation out of pity now.
>demographics
Irrelevant.
>life expectancy
The life expectancy is within the first world. It dropped during COVID but rose up again a few years later. America is first world and anybody saying otherwise is just coping at this point.
but are they comf enough to be remade in civilian colors and worn for every day attire, or does civilian attire out-comf those uniforms?
Yes? Pretty sure cargo pants were inspired by military uniforms. Many modern cargo pants are also reminiscent to American BDU cuts and even ACU ones.
Yes, moron. There are companies that make non camo versions of bdus and ACUs.
because it's cool (literally) and comfy
Yea, same here. Tight jeans while sweating is not a good combination
Throw all your polyester clothes and sheets into the recycle bin and only buy cotton and wool from now on.
>muh polyester
>muh microplastic
You can't tuck your panta in the military. You have to blouse.
I was 140 lbs in bootcamp and 140 when I got out. Was issued MR blouse and trousers
The UK forces have a saying that all uniform comes in two standard sizes; Too Big and Too Small
American the same
Looks normal to me.
>6 of these things has been inside two others
That German twink is really pretty
did the marines corpse got lax with boot straps? if i was that female marine I wouldn't last two seconds outside without some SNCO yelling at me about my uniform
DPM just wins every single time. It's almost frustrating at this point.
Nope, it goes to marpat

Camouflage oversuit, not an uniform
Going by the pics of Russian soldiers and the surplused gear I see online, they seem to prefer the oversuits. Tradition I guess, or maybe they prefer it since any Russian 40 and under grew up wearing adidas
>DAMNIT GIBSON I'VE TOLD YOU BEFORE THAT'S NOT A FRICKING BREACHING CHARGE
That offbrand 3 color desert though.
It gets hot out in the desert.
If true, the meme answer would be due to all the fatties.
>Love ya guys
Bunch of fatsos over there
my guess would be to fit a larger proportion of body sizes
They're not, at least not by a large margin. Compare them to combat/utility uniforms of other NATO countries, they're quite similar and all use the same sizing.
1: They're meant to be a little baggy to aid in mobility, thats what basically any military with a standardized uniform has done since military uniforms started going for practicality instead of looking kickass while you slaughter tribals. Buy a set of fatigues from basically any civilized country in your size and it's gonna fit the same way
2: They have loads of shit in their pockets, so of course its gonna make it look shittier
Because we want to look like trashy morons in dirty pajamas.
I blouse them by tucking them into my boots. What now, homosexual?
They aren't, it's better to ask why they moved into, and then out of, unusually tight cut uniforms in the 2000s
ACUs and MCCUU/ABUs were all baggy compared to standard BDUs.
try kneeling and taking up awkward shooting positions with tight pants. shit sucks ass, especially when they get soaked.
Very much this.
t. wore skinny jeans to my first two gun shooting comp. Ripped my pants halfway through the very first stage and had to complete the rest of the day with my nuts hanging out.
Army now has combat uniforms that are a little bit more modern and form fitting
That's not a standard issue uniform.
It's issued before deployment. The
IHWCW uniform is slimmer fitting too and is standard issue
Doesn't look slimmer to me.
Imagine that patriotic red, white, and blue dong.
Its because of the insulation it has. Those uniforms are made for winter
It's why when they explode it looks like confetti comes out.
Its probably why. Whatever they put as insulation just pops out like that.
I like how there is only one person without a bloused/tucked boot.
>bloused/tucked boot.
Tucking is for turdie imitators.
Blousing separates serious miitaries from aforementioned imitators.
Tucking is uncomfortable for me. I prefer blousing.
>Tucking is uncomfortable for me.
I can't imagine it being comfortable for any personnel actually doing shit in the field, either exercises or real shit. Blousing is comfy, and does a better job of keeping shit out of your boots than tucking, by far.
Yea, tucking in my experience lead to more chaffing.
Based and blousepilled. Tuckers get the rope.
>Why are American combat uniforms more baggy
Because Americans are more baggy. And by baggy I mean FAT.
The extra fat acts helps cushion us against impacts, making US soldiers more resistant to damage.
Americans prize comfy and wear baggier clothes usually. Nut crunchers come into style here and there and then fall out of it. We're back to our traditional, baggier ways now.
>pic
I feel personally attacked.
Standardization. Instead of making 12 different sizes of uniform, the US just makes 3 sizes and then biases larger. Fitting a small man into a big uniform is fine, if comical, but fitting a big man into a small uniform is just...bad.
tfw small acu pants are just slightly too tight but mediums are ridiculously huge on me
They say that army uniforms come in two sizes. Too big and too small.
My old woodland bdu pants I wear are big enough that they’ll sag without a belt, but small enough that the little adjustment straps on the sides are already too tight to do anything
Sizes in small-medium-large varies. Medium is between 31-35 and large is 36-39. If you chose medium, you're more likely to get a 34 or 32 in waist. Its up to you to adjust the sizes by tailoring your uniforms.
compatibility for plus sized soldiers
meant this pic but you get the idea
This was during the surge, I think 2008. Looks like nasty girls (National Guard). I don't think new friends know how close the USA was too a draft during the bad old days. Dirt bags were kept in service, stop loss was going, and there were tax free bonuses for staying in.
The fact that you clowns have been posting this one pic of a fat guy for 10+ years as an "own" will never not be funny.
If you're on medication steroids, the common side effect is an increase in appetite and slow metabolism. Some people have it worse than others.
did we get millennial mommy bloggers in here now posting?
>I'm sure the fat frick carrying 3 XL pizzas is fat because of drugs he has to take and not because he is a fat glutton
Medical steroids does 2 things.
1. It slows down your metabolism
2. It also makes you crave for more food. Regardless, the pizza is likely for his unit than anything.
>gain a bit of weight
A BIT
Range of motion
3. Cargo. If you're in the field you WILL use all those little pockets for little stuff rather than messing up your ruck.
fat
Exactly how baggy are pants supposed to be? I wanted to get Multicam Tropic pants and the only one I could find were Tru-spec (the other being crye but its too expensive for me)
Despite being my size the leg portion is insanely loose and feels very uncomfortable to walk in. Feels like I'm wearing parachute pants.
Was considering tapering it a bit so it's still baggy but just a bit more fitted
Pic related
Tru-spec pants(their T.R.U uniforms) are based on american ACU design. So the baggyness is likely on par with american uniforms currently.
Another example. This time its with FRACUs rather than TRU spec stuff
Is it nyco or polyco? Usually the comfort is dependent on the material its made of.
Wide enough to have billowing action, keeping cool.
Cool and clothe doesn't get driven into the body as much
The synthetic material made it so it doesn't stick to the clothes.
