        Basically russia got access to the gold mines there several years ago via coup.
        The current monkey king got greedy and demanded a bigger cut from his masters.
        His master told the RSF to kill monkey king and they will get his cut instead.

      The Sudanese government isn't a puppet of Russia.
      If anything it's somewhat of a puppet of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and since the military coup in 2019 has been closer to the US compared to the Omar al-Bashir government before it.
