Is it going to be high school all over again, bros? Will I get bullied by chads in class and in the mountains? I'm a shut in, my last adventure was finishing my aff and getting my skydiving license but then soon afterwards I went back to being a shut in, I'm so scared. What are some things I should know before my first day of class?

No. You're all paying money to learn something. This isn't high school

Black person, if adults are bullying you, theyre even more socially maladjusted than you are. hold your head high and listen to the instructor.

Nah, mountaineering people are pretty cool and chill.

    >What are some things I should know before my first day of class?
Probably how to setup a camp and how to be comfortable while camping.

Literally none of the above. You will get a knowledgeable professional who will teach you how best to survive up their, with no time for bullshit or politics. Show interest and ask lots of questions and you will be fine. Also don't be a know it all homosexual.

With the decline of masculinity, zoomies need to compensate. Mountaineering is one of many to fill the niche. Unfortunately so many lack the humble attitude to survive.

but PrepHole always bombs their mountaineering threads hard, and got cucked by PrepHole so it looks kinda lame when they suddenly spam a bunch of these in the catalog

i can't speak for others, but after doing some mountains which are basically hikes+scrambling, i've become more and more interested in mountains which require more special techniques and are actually difficult

Lately? I've been seeing this shit on PrepHole for years. I think its just autists who want something to tack on to their personalities with the "I am very badass" validation

    >high-school
people don't want to be there, so they seek outlets for their frustration.

    >paid class
people want to be there and paid money for it, they don't give a shit about you, they want to learn something.

social skills are good for mountaineering but you don't need them and you would be far from the only turbo autist drawn to it. i suggest that if you suck at social things in real life, get good at photography, make social media, and make your name/accomplishments known online even if they're minor.
its less that people have to like you and more that you have to pass the shit test that you're not a dumb ass liability who will get other people or yourself hurt/killed. there's ways to just, have a reputation for not being a dumbass without being a particularly sociable person.
being an autist will definitely hinder you from making experienced friends to pity you & take you on stuff early on but that's fine.
