I don't see anything about it being to scale, they claim it's the actual thing on their facebook page.
/k/
drone toy club
kinda a step up from that rocket last time
That "cruise missile" is actually a sheath for a FZ275LGR guided rocket. It flies towards the target then fires it, minimizing APS intervention (rockets are harder to counter). Will be interesting to see how this develops.
Turkey will counter this by tuesday. All good fun.
yes they will release the new and improved drone countering technology, Mehmetçik, powered 100% by copium
>make land based cruise missile (eg range 600km)
>make drone launches cruise missile (drone range 50km missile range 500km)
why even bother?
Repeat launches, mobile, dirt cheap. This is NOT a cruise missile, OP got everything wrong.
Boring. Let me know when pic-related comes out
in the pipe five by five
Cute calling it Sarisa.
and the standoff launcher is called Aihmi (meaning spearhead)
Nicholas, do you realize that the main advantages of air launched cruise missiles are speed and altitude?
Strapping ground launched missile to Alibaba drone, won't magically increase its range.
oh ho the illiterate Turk is here again this will be fun
Why not just ground launch it???
because it's not a "cruise missile" it's a loitering standoff munition. And that's not the only way to launch it.
Yeah and why can't you still ground launch it?
Quadcopter drones have shit endurance, shit payload and shit range.
There's no reason why you wouldn't be able to adapt it for ground launches.
This is meant to be carried from this drone, the Talos 2 drone (a bigger MALE drone in development by the same company) and other platforms. They just use the Sarisa for testing. But the quad is still the cheapest way to get it airborne. It's a munition, not a drone.
Contrast it with something like the Harop from the Israelis, that has to have a dedicated launcher and uses a rocket first stage. The quad is easier to reload and cheaper overall. Load quad, take off a couple of meters, launch, land, reload, repeat.
Don't expect anything sane. There is no missile. It's just a wood replica being lifted by some alibaba drone. That's it. This whole concept is dumb.
Awww is the little butthurt Turk afraid to talk to me? What's the matter?
what kind of damage can this do?
i mean i saw some nice drones on their exibition some weeks ago if i were greece i would have ordered 100 of each send them to ukraine ask for results and just order more from the ones that actually did something
It carries a guided hydra 70 rocket, so whatever warhead hydra 70s can get.
8kg give it or take the biggest i saw
so 4kg less than a lancet
wiki says that :
> Lancet-3
Basic and bigger variant with a 40-minute endurance. A maximum payload of three kilograms...
ah fricked up the formatting. Overal they seem pretty comparable? But there's also a HEAT version of the Hydra. As well as newer proxy fuse ones.
thats the camera anon
if lancet does so much damage with 3kg warhead then that hydra will obliterate tanks
Its entire weight is 12kg anon
