a fully automatic thompson made with modern material to make it more ergonomic with the 100 drum mag.
how well would it do against an ar-15 in close quater combat.

Similar fire rate, weighs much more, cumbersome mag, it's a bullet hose.
>full auto .45 submachine gun with a 100 round mag vs a semi-auto .223
probably very well if it doesn't jam
not well, drum mags are heavy and unreliable, you do not need 10 hits to kill someone
There isn't much sense in just doing a material swap on something like that. 100 rounds of 45acp weighs like, 3x as much as 100 rounds of 5.56 and doesn't really give you any ballistic advantage.
It's still a gun that shoots bullets. Whoever shoots the other guy first is going to win.
You homies really overthink this shit.
>Whoever shoots the other guy first is going to win.
*wears body armor*
*teleports behind you*
heh, nuthin personnel, kiddo
Because it's a bunch of zoomers who think in terms of video game stats and they're trying to min-max
>Rittenhouse smoked three felons with a barebones PFG kit
Imagine the response if he had posted his setup beforehand?
>you put more points into gear, I put more points into skill! I win!
"le minmaxing" homosexual Black folk use video game arguments while complaining about videogames
Thompson is peak SMG. There has never been a better design.
>weighs ten pounds empty
Try again, sweaty.
Buncha slack jawed homosexuals around here.
Whoever shot who first would win. But the Thompson is the inferior choice in effectively every metric.
>Muh capacity
Doesn't matter, also AR drum mags are a thing
>Muh size
11.5" in 5.56 or 8" in .300
>Muh FA
ARs can do that too.
Nah, that's the MP5.
>10+ pounds for a open bolt .45 AARP
Miss me with that obsolete nonsense.
i'd really like an AR in .45acp especially if i had to rob banks and shoot someone. my ar9 works flawlessly and its so easy to shoot. one handed even. You dont need much barrel length to get max performance and with heavy gr bullets would be great for shooting indoors and maybe from a car.
i'd rather have a sten than a thompson
The design is outdated. This is a pointless mental exercise. If you're going to take the strategy of firing through concealment in full auto you might as well be using a 249 or one of the newer light-weight machine guns on the market.
>inline stock with raised sights
>quad stack casket mag
>non-reciprocating left-hand charging handle
>handguard that covers the barrel
>aluminum reciever
It's either gonna be a M1 with CAR-15 parts kluged on, or a Colt 9mm rechambered for .45, more or less.
Lets go the opposite. Lets make it as crazy as we can. Bump up the cyclic rate, and make it heavier to make up for it. Make the mag a 200 round helical for addition giggles. Keep adding on great ideas to the monstrosity.
