How will TGM effect the future of cinema?
Will we be getting more /k/ino later this decade?

Everyone has already forgotten this movie existed.
Not a moment too soon either that shit was fricking awful.
I demand movies about the Ukraine War. It's so ripe for the cinema.
Don't you worry. I'm sure there will be lots of Russian and NATO propaganda for years to come.
Technically, there is already a movie about ukraine war. If i am not mistaken wagner is the one who made it.
Give it 5-10 years
Movies are still suffering from the post-COVID slump, and most people have completely moved on to piracy and streaming. Top Gun Maverick is a sign of the death of institutional cinema, if anything.
Then why did TGM have the 2nd highest box office of 2022?
TGM had a budget of only $170. Since it grossed $1.489 billion, it made 8.76 times it's money back. Clearly there is a demand for /k/ movies.
Still seething at how dismissive TGM was of the F-35.
Yeah, it did well but I'm not shocked blue people underwater managed to eke out the win though.
>Moonman
i was referring to 2049
people with short attention spans are not gonna get slower movies like 2049
>Avatar: The Way of Water #1
Feels good
>blue catBlack folk in space
Ew no thanks.
Offensive and wrong
>waaaa my billion-dollar Pocahontas/Dances with Wolves knockoff squeakquel got made fun of waaaa
Oh please.
>Pocahontas/Dances with Wolves
Is this all marveldrones (You) can come up with to cope?
Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water made more money together than shit war and shitgame
>marveldrones
>implying I ever watch capeshit
>implying I give a shit about how much money some rehashed-plot film made
>HURR DURR IT MADE MOOOONEEEEEEY
I suppose Marvel produces exclusively kino, then?
>literally /k/
>completely flops
fitting tbh
??
top gun was a massive success, doubly so considering it was a post-covid release and still managed to get people to flock to a physical cinema. your notion that it was irrelevant and a failure probably comes from movies in general being irrelevant. all the big old franchises have been run into the ground, everyone is atomized into different streaming services, nobody is watching the same thing or going out and seeing full theatres and zoomers dont have the patience for 90 minute runtimes anyway. the age of movies being a cultural phenomenon is over and unless your immediate social circle are talking about a movie, everything seems like a flop.
Every scientogist was told to go to it multiple times and get as maby people to go as possible and shill it as hard as possible. The cult takes a huge share of profits on it.An aging tom cruise was/is shit.He was banal and relatively talentless even when he was younger. If he was not a ptofit centre for the cult you'd never have heard of him. No decent Christian be they Catholic or Protestant or even muslim should pay for this cult by watching this ridiculous film about an old cult member pretending to be a fighter pilot
Every scientogist was told to go to it multiple times and get as maby people to go as possible and......
Pheww......
you realize the guy you're replying to is talking about blade runner 2049 not top gun right
>90 minute runtimes
I fricking wish, movies have been getting longer and longer. feels like every blockbuster is now 3 hours now
I mean yeah 2049 flopped, but the original didn't so hot at the box office, either. But, at least to me, it was a worthy sequel to the original (I know it's pretty hit or miss with a lot of Bladerunner fans) made by a good director with care for the IP and it shows. I think over time it'll come to enjoy the good graces of some portion of the cult following that made 2049 an idea the studio thought worthwhile in the first place.
This is a scientology movie not a /k/ movie and tom cruise packs fudge.

You're still under the impression that Hollywood's highest priority is money. It is not. Once the woke virus has infected a company or industry, their priority becomes spreading the woke virus to more and more companies. Anything they used to do (i.g. make money) is a secondary goal.
Look at all the woke shit they STILL pump out even after half a decade of straight failures and flops. The only rational explanation is that they don't care about success, they only want to spread the disease.
Didn’t TGM not air in China?
Correct, it did not.
Kek, Su-57 BTFO
su-57 piloted by l ron hubbard and xenu but tom cruise packed his fudge
To be honest, I wanted Tom Cruise to get shot out of the air in the first five minutes, explode in a violent fireball, and the credits roll while "I'm so fresh you can suck my nuts" starts playing.
>Will we be getting more /k/ino later this decade?
can't wait for a "inspired by actual events" flick about B21 raids on Moscow
