Does anyone know what kind of lock this is? I've tried searching online for an 8 point security lock but nothing even comes close.

It's the kind of lock that makes your father go out for Newports and not come back so you steal things and ask the internet how to open them.
Nothing has been stolen.
idk but a flat head screwdriver and hammer would make short work of it
do you even know what security bits are used for? they're meant to prevent tampering in appliances so you pay a "professional" to service them, they aren't meant to be used as locks.
please do this board a favor and don't post about what you don't know, thanks.
>idk
>please don't post if you don't know
Sure Tyrone
At least he's contributing to the thread you tremendous homosexual
So you don't know either? Maybe you should follow his advice
>they aren't meant to be used as locks.
>Does anyone know what kind of lock this is?
OP sure seemed to think it was a lock.
I thought it was a lock but looking at security bolts now I can confirm it definitely is one. It is however the only visible fixing keeping the box shut
Not yet thanks to this lock.
that's a star retaining clip cheesebreath
Nah, it looks similar but it's not. The photo doesn't really do it justice but it's definitely an 8 pin hole within a raised metal lock front. Perspective is looking up to the underside of the object
>but it's definitely an 8 pin hole within a raised metal lock front
That's a security bolt, not a lock. It's meant to keep you from stealing what's inside. Ask the owner for the bit.
>Ask the owner for the bit.
I can't. But thank you, I'm definitely going in the right direction now
>I'm definitely going in the right direction now
Maybe you'll learn enough to become employable. And then people can steal from you for a change.
>Does anyone know what kind of lock this is?
Maybe you can help us identify it by showing a pic of the key.
Oh....
You don't own the key to that lock...
Maybe the owner of what you stole can help you.
found it.
it's proprietary, but tools are available.
you're so close. just missing one word.
what's it worth to you?
>proprietary
it seems that way. it'll be easier now to just us a two point bit of sorts to fit in the edges rather than find a specific tailor made bit
something like this? https://www.colsafety.com/jonad-star-key-can-wrench-kit-for-lc--lg-patterns
something like that, sure. but not that. obviously. since 5 and 7 ≠ 8.
but you knew that, since you're not moronic or anything, right?
Im not Op. You seem like a frickhead
Sure OP. Let us know when you get your ankle tag off
closest i've found is this, all it needs is a female version and it looks like it might work
https://www.grainger.ca/en/product/INSERT-BIT%2C8-POINT-BIT-STYLE%2CALLOY-STEEL/p/WWG415H82
just use a slotted screwdriver
You could probably jam a small flathead screwdriver into it like this and turn it.
I did this to my Ps3 and it broke off the part in the middle, and I was able to use a normal screw to open it afterwardd
use a fork
what does it unlock? what is the item?
