7th generation fighter jets

Now that 6th gen fighters will be in service in a decade, what will the defining capabilities
of 7th gen fighters be?

I’m thinking
>Fusion powerplants + fusion engines
>Single stage to orbit capability
>Molecular nanotechnology
>Hypersonic speeds

One thing for certain is that they'll be absolutely unmanned. Probably will even use some form of exotic propulsion reverse-engineered from one of the 12 recovered alien spacecrafts we have.

      >no pilots
      How 'bout this (filmworthy) idea?
      >get stem & brain cells from veteran pilots
      >tweak the cells epigentically
      >grow specially modified brains from cells
      >brains engineered to be nearly g-force proof
      >brains have all of the memories of the pilots
      >brains kept alive through cybernetics
      >brain cyber capsules
      >brain capsules installed in 7th+ gen aerospacecraft
      >living cyborg fighter jets
...maybe computers are the logistically superior solution.

        >brains engineered to be nearly g-force proof
We are many decades away from engineering biological structures in that way.
We can engineer a bacteria to tweak its resistance to antibiotics but multicelled structures are way, way beyond us.

Basically everything else about your post shows you know nothing of either neuroscience or cellular biology either.

        >they'll be absolutely unmanned
Optionally manned, maybe. I think "fighters" will shift towards more of a command & control role with the actual weapons and sensors on unmanned aircraft. This would let you keep the squishy parts of the system as hidden and safe as possible while minimizing latency to the unmanned components.

        >Optionally manned, maybe. I think "fighters" will shift towards more of a command & control role with the actual weapons and sensors on unmanned aircraft.
        This.
The unmanned aircraft are essentially missiles that fire missiles, allowing for a kind of BVR^2 approach.
Unless unjammable communications are invented (without new forms of jamming) then true autonomous craft probably aren't reliable and keeping a pilot in the loop at least when required is likely to be necessary.

We are seeing this already with crew optional tanks as robotic warfare continues to grow and develop. It's just not the same as having a real pilot, but it has less weight, no G-force injuries. Don't have this problem with robotic jets, and the two can be used in combination.

This thread is the equivalent of asking what will define 6th gen aircraft back in 1995.

No point even discussing it really.

    >what will the defining capabilities of 7th gen fighters be?
Already have. You may not like it, but the US is 6 million years ahead in military tech. The US military government holds the keys to the meaning of life & death, has both friendly & evil alien helpers (ET/FNORD), psychic "remote viewing" spie's, time travel tech, fleets of reverse-engineered antigravity alien tech "TR-3B Black Triangle" flying ship's powered by element 115, communication with ghosts the afterlife & the unborn, triple-barreled M551A666 PsychoSheridan tank's, 75th Rangers exoskeleton-hip-fired gyro-stabilised 120mm infantry mortar's with pinpoint accuracy during 25mph sprint, access to other "parallel" universe's, NSA/DARPA GGGQEP quantum ∞(±6^∀)Petahertz miconpossessors to eavesdrop on every single electronic & non-electronic communication in the world even sign language underneath 1km of EMF Kevlar, "Rods from God" (just 1 orbital tungsten telephone pole = two Czar Bombas), the 300,000-strong "Fighting Molemen" U.S. SUBTERRANEAN FORCE, FT LEE VA (the secret "7th branch" existing since 1899), quantum IFVs, "phase-shifting" Armored Recovery Vehicles, new "Stealth" tech that makes jet's invisible to Radar. Shoulder-fired ASAT missiles. Stealth field kitchens. This is publicized in Stargate SG1, scientific research publication Popular Science, only a fraction of the more spooky & shadowy stuff not listed above is merely hinted at in Marvel Cinematic Universe™, history documentary Red Alert 2, French time travel documentary Life is Strange (David Madsen was a rogue DIA test subject), but the pardoned parcel is the US of A is at least 6 million years ahead in military tech even without the help of alien's. It is 6 million years ahead though the exact number fluctuates due to the activities of the US Military Time Travel Program underneath Barksdale AFB, L.A., this 6 million years ahead is a universally agreed-upon average by the world & intergalactic/ET scientific communities.

Fusion propulsion is really the only meaningful revolutionary improvement that can be had if 6th gen delivers as promised. The jets will be fricking enormous, though. Everything else would be a incremental improvement over 6th gen.

      >The jets will be fricking enormous, though
      No

      https://www.sandboxx.us/blog/lockheed-martin-has-a-patent-for-fusion-powered-fighters-and-bombers/

      >According to the Skunk Works, a single reactor using their confinement system could run continuously for a year on just 25 pounds of fuel while producing roughly 100 megawatts of power — enough to power the homes of 100,000 people. Potential applications for such a device are staggering, and the Skunk Works patent includes somewhat obvious uses like powering an aircraft carrier as well as more novel ones, like using containerized fusion trucks to provide emergency energy to cities following natural disasters.

      >But perhaps the most intriguing inclusion in the patent is a reactor made small enough to be housed within the fuselage of an F-16 Fighting Falcon.

I was thinking that future exported fighter jets would be cheaper and as easy to fly as they are in video games. Imagine how much money these companies could make if they could literally have a child fly in a cheap ass jet and it's controlled with a gamepad or a joystick and some pedals. Basically no more complicated than a car to operate. The US could funnel these planes to ex-soviet bloc countries like Ukraine or countries in SEA to easily curb the expansion of Russia and China. They can even send them to Africa and give them rebel groups to make it harder for Wagner and Chinese industry.
No need for costly training, just a few hours in a simulator so they don't crash in their first sortie. Something like this would likely need very advanced avionics and control systems which if they're mass produced, are very likely to fall into enemy hands

They will cost 10 billion each and there will 30 of them built in total. Of course they will be made by LM. Combat-wise, they will be equivalent to F-16.

Gen 7 is barely a twinkle in the eye of undergrads working for a PHD.
By the time the government finalizes proposals they'll be capable of designing mixed mode, variable cycle, variable bypass, variable compression ratio Turbine/RAM/SCRAM that can operate from the subsonic to M7+ and be able to do suborbital atmosphere skipping.
