I keep a break action single shot .410 with me fricking around my property. Does what I need it to do and is dirt cheap. It’s usually that or a .22. I have a shell holder on my belt that I keep with different loads depending on what pops up.
I have an H&R Topper that was my grandfather’s and a Silver Eagle Sidekick. The H&R is 20 times the quality of the Sidekick but had too much sentimental value to me to keep beating up and abusing. It’s fine for a beater but I wouldn’t be shocked if it arbitrarily blew up in my face one day.
They’re excellent for rats and snakes, and that’s 99% of what I kill on my farm. I had rats and snakes regularly survive .38 rat shot so I moved up to .410.
About how much stupider would it be to carry a Deagle loaded with those little short shotshells? I've been considering it, because I think unloading all 8 into a mugger would be neat.
They wouldn’t cycle at all, it would be like a big spring airsoft gun and the rifling would throw the shot into a donut pattern that’s only useful to about 10 feet.
Also if you chamber a shotshell round and try to eject it without firing, the shot cup will stick in the chamber, and dump all the shot all over the floor.
You sure? I'm specifically referring to the short ones, they're like half the size of a 12 gauge shell. Don't they made some that are specifically chambered for those?
>the answer is about money
So, in fact, you do lack the imagination. (You) must be such a horrible burden on the people around you who can't escape the need to be around you.
>not posting his .410 at all >trying to insult generational firearms
Nice deflection noguns. First I actually bought it for $500 in 2020. Second who cares if it’s an heirloom? Heirloom firearms are based.
Still waiting for your .410 and 10k round stash of .410 ammo
I've got a break action Iver Johnson with ejector that has a good choke. It throws those Critical Defense slug and ball loads at nuclear power. I enjoy a good .410
Bear Creek Arsenal sells both ARs chambered in .410 Bore as well as complete uppers chambered in .410 Bore.
They're pretty cheap so every once in a while I think about getting an upper so I can swap it onto one of my ARs every once in a while and goof around. The problem is I don't think they would really be useful for anything unless I suddenly decided to start shooting random squirrels or something.
The least useful shotgun cartridge but .410 slugs will still frick anyone up with less recoil and blast than a 12g. I do use my .410 for claying sometimes, you really do need to apply all the skills you need to get a hit, you won't get lucky like you can with 12g
Good for very small game I guess
But these days I prefer light loaded twelve for squirrel even, the patterns are just as good now with light loads, it’s not like back in the day before the new shot cups
And even then after the leaves come down in winter squirrel season I prefer either a 22 or one of my modern air rifles
The only time I shoot 410 anymore is clays for practice and because it’s one of the subguages you need to shoot
Yeah, as always using less power always makes hunting more challenging and for many more fun, same reason I handgun hunt
At the end of the day though it’s an admission that it’s just a worse cartridge
No one would NEEDED to hit their bag limit would look at their safe and say “it’s gotta be the .410”
But if you’re in the woods for a good time and a challenge, that’s a great option, and I would recommend people have guns that are fun not just the min max best option
The main reason now I shoot .410 is because I have a Lee Enfield and G98 rechambered for it and I'm a brit whose cant be arsed to get a full firearms certificate so I'm stuck with shotguns. I also have a Norinco .410 bolt action that is quite light and handy, but if I'm actually going hunting I'm taking my 12g out.
Okay I guess “i don’t have intact natural rights” is another reason someone might choose .410 but it’s not relevant to most of the board, being American dominated

One of the turkroach ones for like $100? How is it?

>he thinks about .410 shells
>he doesn't
I want one in a revolver for the frick of it
Taurus Judge is the revolver for you.
Governer….
>Thunder five
Don't fricking do it, they are beyond worthless
410 revolver are boomer meme guns. I love 410 but those guns are so fricking stupid. At most I can see it as being good for snakes.

Mine has 10k rounds through it, no issue.
>10,000 .410 shells
> through a Judge
Now, try to imagine how we all know you're lying.
>poorgay can't fathom someone having money and fun
Get off PrepHole and apply yourself kid.
>money and fun
Anon anyone who puts 10k thru a judge has autism and nothing else.
well now yeah, obviously, but he used to have money, and he did have fun
>the answer is about money

Post your judge and a case of .410
>posting an heirloom you got for free

No it doesn’t. At least be reasonable when you lie
Mine had less then 100 when it shit the bed
>doesn't understand spendin money on something purely for the frick& fun of it
Poors love exposing themselves
>buying a $600 revolver is only for richgays
Good job exposing yourself as both noguns and definitely not rich
do it

i love .410`s, especially lever action shotguns, i always wanted to get one after seeing tallahassee on zombieland
They’re cool, but I don’t see the point when 12 gauge sends 3x as much lead for 1/3rd the price
Not for me, I have no use for them. Literally.
Useless. Use 12 gauge and man the frick up.
Nah
>Colours
noguns among us

The bore of my great granddad's K-mart .410 is pitted all to hell. Sad but not surprised. :^(

Criminally overpriced
I think this is the one thing we can all agree on. A box of shells will last me a while but if I want to plink it’s with a 22lr.
Good for very small game I guess

I agree but I know a few dudes who who've been slaying turkey these past couple years with .410's. Seems pretty fun

This is a thread about .410, laws have nothing to do with it
Every old man owns a .410 shotgun. It's mandatory to buy one when you turn 60.
