Memes and good way to get in trouble with the legal system if you ever have to use one. Proper knife will be leagues more useful. That being said, there is plenty of use in shiv type knives. Just don’t get a push dagger type. I love my mora eldris.

The real name appears twice in his post. Only $285 for a shank that can do everything that a $10 shank can do!

Push knifes are made for one kind of use, you can't really use it for daily utility, there's not much there to help with cutting ropes or sharpening sticks. Well you COULD still use it like that if you wanted but that grip would be a fricking pain after five minutes. No, the only thing knives like that are intended for are easy concealment and being able to quickly pull out and start poking away at someone's stomach/lower chest cavity as quickly as possible before they can react to it with less of a chance for them to grab the knife away from you before you finish.

they are effective (though a real knife is better) and very easy to carry, but realistically you're probably never going to actually use a knife in self-defense. so if you're going to encumber yourself with a knife, you might as well use one that has more utility and can be used in public without scrutiny. there are plenty of knives with those qualities that can also be pressed into being weapons if needed.

Push daggers are the ultimate larper knife.
Anyone with either this or a karambit in their EDC is basically guaranteed to own at least one firearm with a Punisher skull on it.

Carpet knives are actually useful as a utility knife. Its less memey than it looks.

They're really cool but totally impractical. I own a couple for fun but I'd never carry one on a regular basis.

the coldsteel ones seem practical, does anyone have experience with them?

Practical for what, moron? Any OTF is going to be 100% more practical for concealing or general use. And if you rely on a knife for self defense instead of, you know, a gun, you are already fricked anyway.

ya, practical for self defense in tight situations or ones where you cant bring a firearm
