About a decade ago I had a Bushmaster AR-15, it did not matter what ammo you fed it, it didn't matter trying out a new bolt carrier group, swapping the buffer spring/weight, magazines didn't make a difference, a new fricking barrel didn't make a difference. That piece of shit would always consistently jam without fail. Ended up selling it for retail though to some chump.

      Anonymous

Did you buy it used? I have a Windham and I've heard they're mostly identical to the old Bushmasters except for the quality of the materials, and the only time I had an issue with feeding is because I was fricking with the magazine like a moron. Even though I only have shitty BUIs for it I get fairly good groups with it, definitely looking to get some better irons though because these BUIs suck dick.

Walther made a g36 replica in .22, it was a total POS that either had a FTF or FTE 1/5 rounds. I tried every kind of .22lr I could get my hands on and nothing helped. Live rounds would get wedged into the chamber somehow and they wouldn't fire and I would have to pry them out.

Luckily it was a rare gun and I sold it for nearly what I bought it for to a local dealer.

      Anonymous

Walther doesnt make shit, umarex is like an airsoft brand that makes all that 22lr shit and rides their name. I dont know why they prostituted themselves out like that but hopefully they learned their lesson and the pdp is the start of their redemption arc. Fricking imagine if walther made an ar trigger. Hnnnng. Anyways always gotta watch out for those pieces of shit its always gonna say umarex or gsg sports somewhere and that automatically is the brand of a piece of shit.

      Anonymous

No, it's really not. I got one last year that was horrible - made it four rounds at a time without jams, at most. Often it would choke on the second one. I tried a huge selection of ammo - m1152, Tula, basic winchester, remington, PMC, reloads, etc. Even after a substantial "breaking in" period, the number of malfs could be counted on two hands per 100 shots.

Stop limped wristing or stop being poor.

          Anonymous

It's not even about being poor. I got a Remington 870 Tactical model in 2016, despite anons warning me for $450. Took it to the range worked fine. Then around 180rounds of shooting mixed shells, the mag tube went bad. It stopped reliably cycling shells into the lift chamber. Then soon after, when I was shooting slugs one day, the barrel detached itself due to the pressure. Like, the barrel would pull away from the receiver, unlatched. Learned my lesson to only buy expensive reputable stuff.

Now I only use my Remi 870 strictly for bird shot, anything else is too much for it to handle. Maybe one day I'll sell it at a pawn shop and get something else, but I kinda like the work that I put into it.

          Anonymous

          Absolutely is limp wristing.
The C9 is decent for what it used to cost but relies on its massive weight to function.
Don't hold it firm and you'll get frick ups all day long.
Thing beats the shit out of you eventually, though.

Got one of those police used MR73's that came into the country a long time ago. I was obsessed with them and the chance to get one in the US made my peepee hard. Turns out that they aren't as bombproof as everyone says. The cylinder notches are peened and skip if you pull the trigger to quickly/hard. Basically a single action collection piece at best. Never could find a gunsmith willing to even take a look. The trigger is neat and all but I regret it, and have learned that I need to inspect any used guns in person. Lesson learned but I feel pain every time I handle it knowing my dream gun wasn't nearly what it was painted to be.

    SCCY's handguns.

    >get one, take to range
    >feels cheap, plastic is like Nerf gun plastic, including the thin plastic trigger
    >trigger breaks on the second shot, something broke inside and the trigger just dangled with no spring tension
    >gun completely disabled
    >one of the mags is also out of spec, way too big, doesn't even fricking fit in the gun, the other one barely fits and takes a good amount of pulling to get out
    >send the POS back to Florida (lmao) and they say they're sending me a refund
    >read their policy, I was within the timeframe of a full return considering it broke on day 1 of me owning it
    >months pass, never get refund
    >they call me and say gun is fixed, ask where I want it sent
    >I inform them they agreed to accept it for refund
    >moron on phone gets mad and starts yelling that I bought it and can't just return it for no reason
    >it fricking broke on the second shot you moron
    >clearly their sales dipped and they're holding onto every shekel
    >whatever, I'll sell it myself, send it back
    >get it back... breaks on the third shot... progress!
    >send it back again, this time they tell me I can't get a refund because it's out of warranty (I had owned it for 2 days, they held it while "fixing" it for 3-4 months)
    >they send it back "fixed" again, I sell it immediately to some guy who I'm almost certain was a felon or more likely DV convict with a clearly made up story about how he's buying it for his daughter
    >good luck chuck, shits gonna break, take the $200 and bounce

Yeah I don't buy garbage anymore.

Jesus, that's a whole league worse than Taurus.
The worst Taurus gun here (Brazil) was the faulty Taurus 24/7 that would either shoot just by touching it or become full-auto (lots of cops accidentally full-auto'd Black folk, that was awesome).

But breaking like that and applying a warranty scam on the customer is something I wouldn't expect even from Taurus, and man, I hate Taurus, I only one 1 because that's basically all you can get here without being rich.

SCCY is what I call an American garage company. I've known 2 people that have started gun companies and failed, but at least had a semi working product before going under. They buy a hole in the wall warehouse or literally run it out of a garage, or in one case an attic. SCCY probably wasn't much different, they were a startup when I bought it, I didn't know shit about guns and would've avoided buying something from a brand new no-name company, but I wasn't any wiser. Of course when they start failing they're going to start Penny pinching and not honoring warranties for their pieces of shit that are breaking left and right. The plastic was comically bad, and the mags not fitting idk how you even frick that up. The trigger internals obviously weren't even put together well enough to work, and they must've known it. There's no way mine couldn't get through 3 shots without them being aware something was fundamentally wrong with their design. They just didn't give a shit, profits over people is the American way. I can't believe they're still in business peddling their trash, but poor and Black folk gonna nig and keep buying them like Hi Points.

Lol my friends dad "passed down" a handgun to him when he was a teenager. He talked about it a few times but I never saw it till I was 20 and he finally brought it over to go shooting. He'd hyped it up like a little gay but I laughed my ass off at it when I saw it was a pot metal .380 Jimenez tier Saturday night special. Thing was such a pos. He had a single box of mixed jhp and fmj .380 acp and I told him he could shoot it if he wanted but I needed to get behind cover first. Jammed every couple of rounds and then broke the pot metal retention pin and sent the slide flying. Didn't even last a magazine. I made fun of him a lot and stopped shooting with him not too long after that since that was the only gun he technically owned and he had a few safely incidents that made him dangerous to be around.

I had a PA-63 a while back, Soviet Hungarian pistol chambered in 9x18mm. Thing sucked. Shooting it felt like the crook of my thumb was being smashed with a hammer, accuracy was piss poor. I regualrly shoot larger calibers than 9x18 so I know it couldn't be an issue with me. I've shot more than a few 9x19mm guns, I love shooting my .357, and I didn't have any trouble with a .45 like I did with the 9x18.
The gun was intended to shoot .32 acp, so of course the Soviets saw it and went "BUT COMRADE IT MUST BE OF SHOOTS STANDARDIZE AMMUNITIONS, RETOOL GUN IN GLORIOUS 9x18mm MAKAROV", which means the thing was destined to destroy itself with its own recoil as it wasn't made for those pressures.
I handed the thing off to my brother, he asked for it and I only hesitated because I had to ask if he'd prefer something better as he's my brother, but he chose that one so I let him have it.

I bought one of those, first non revolver handgun. I enjoyed it, but it had a HEAVY double action pull, made me a better shot though.

        Anonymous

Weird, that was also my first non-revolver handgun. I'm guessing yours was a .32? It started to sour me on them, but I've had better experiences since. Older beretta is ok, Star feels fine but too light, so probably need heavier grain ammo or something, I dunno

9x18, my dad bought two. We couldn't find ammo, so it also got us into reloading and bullet casting decades ago.

Well, I'm glad you liked it at least. Maybe I just suck at shooting autos well for some reason. Still, I don't get why it hurt that one part of my hand so much. Only auto pistols I've reliably shot well are Berettas, I've tried both a 92 and an M1934. The latter doesn't much care where it throws its casings but other than that it's pretty pleasant to shoot.

              Anonymous

pa 63s are notorious garbage. as a simple blowback, and firing a round too big for its frame, no wonder it hurt. get a proper short recoil pistol in a gun actually made for its caliber.

                Anonymous

I actually do have one that's short recoil now. Star Model 30, posted it once or twice before.
My only issue with it is that it feels a little too light, but that may be because I first started shooting it right after I'd finished shooting my AR.
I regret to say my accuracy was piss poor, but it felt fine to shoot. I suspect I either need more practice with it or that I may need to use a different grain of ammunition, currently using 115 grain 9mm, standard stuff.
Its condition is actually pretty good mechanically, the guy who owned it got it new in the 80s, put 2 mags through it, then shoved it in the case and left it be until he had to sell it for some shit or other. Only real issue it has is that one of the grips, both of which seem to have been affixed with glue at the factory rather than any kind of screws, has a corner popping up at the bottom and I'm not sure if there's a particular kind of adhesive I should use or if anything works. Also don't know what kind of lube would be best for the moving parts or where to apply it, but I probably should lube it up at some point.

Worst gun I've got is a toss-up. I recently bought a Wauser Chinese 96, and it's generally a piece of crap. I've also got a Spanish Mauser 1916 that wasn't good when new, and the years were not kind to it. Finally, I have an Armi San Marco 1861 Navy constantly fails to fire.

I’ve got a “Luger” in .22 that has light strikes constantly, almost never cycles, gets cases stuck, has a busted extractor, and has a front sight that flies off if it ever successfully fires. I have a gun smith buddy who says he can fix it but I’m not sure.

I grew up rural and knew plenty about fuddshit, but nobody in my family knew anything about handguns. When I was a poor college student living in a major city I bought a 2" snub Rossi in .357 (my dad thought autos were unreliable and inaccurate, which I now realize is because he owns a fricking Hi-Point) to keep in the nightstand in case of a break-in.

It is loud and bright as frick and incredibly inaccurate. The only reason it is still sitting in the safe is because the $70 I could make selling it isn't worth the shame of people knowing I own a Black person's 7-11 holdup gun.
