I REMEMBER RUSSIA gayBOTS posting this image next to American soldiers, trying to racebait and engage in general 50cent army homosexualry . . . Curious, why did they stop?

Kek, oh ya, because I have 7gigs of russian "*men" pissing and shitting themselves as they either flee russia or get blown up by a drone.

It is pretty funny to think about all the /misc/tards who posted propaganda of this next to a black American female soldier doing some cringe dance. Turns out race-baiting propaganda isn't what wins wars.

    >50 cal bullets
Not ONLY .50, but russia also claims it will be nuke proof! Unfortunately it won't see mass deployment until 2025, does anyone know if it's been released as a prototype (similar to what America does) on the battlefield?

What is the tactical advantage of hexagon armor?

      To be tacticool.

It's funny really seeing as they can't into forklifts and pallets that lower body exo-skeletons would be in use but then some manager in charge would just pawn it off.

God the original textron gun was so cool. Why did they cuck out with s*g? Don't tell me that bullshit about the ejection port they could have had it eject out of either side or out of the front just as easily.

All the US wanted was an AR-15 platform rifle with longer range to be paired with IVAS and the NGSW weapon sites. I think we can authoritatively say that the AR-15 design is peak firearms in its simplicity, mass produceability, and ergonomics as there are only so many ways to can design a box fed high powered rifle.

The US military learnt from Afghanistan that if you are fighting at 300m+ then you DON'T want to be the person with 5.56, and since this bad boy essentially gives American soldiers aimbot you're gonna want a longer range. No retraining hassles, no supply (major) supply chain restructuring, just a fancy new rifle.

The reason why morons quoting ballistic charts like its the fricking bible is so stupid is because they will always miss the wider picture in military procurement. IVAS, and the NGSW program are two parts of the same program.

          >AR-15 design is peak firearms
Except it's not. Textron's designs showed that firearm design could be taken much further. Their 5.56 CT ammo was significantly lighter than current 5.56 and small enough that it could fit into a mag that inserts into the grip of the gun like a pistol, allowing for extremely compact PDWs that don't make the compromises on performance that current models are forced to make. The feed design also eliminates the possibility of jams that can't be fixed by ensuring the mag is seated and racking the charging handle beyond full on magazine failure, and allows the ammo to be fed backward out of the magazine just as easily as forward which can allow for a longer barrel in the same size package.

          >inb4 you respond with how you're too moronic to be able to comprehend any non traditional design, so it must be impossibly complex

      >Soviets overhype their T64 and T62
      >NATO spazzes out and starts a decade long MBT program, resulting in two of the most paradigm defining, ahead-of-the-curve tanks ever made, the Leopard 2 and Abrams

      >Soviets hype up the BMP
      >US spazzes out, spents nearly two decades iterating over a IFV design until they get one of the most ahead-of-the-curve, paradigm defining IFV's ever made, the Bradley.

      >Russia hypes up the Mig25
      >The US spazzes out, drastically overhauls what would have been ill-fated fighter programs, and creates one of the most ahead-of-the-curve, paradigm defining and lets be honest, succesfull fighter ever made

      >Soviets create AKM, tout it for being easy to use, easy to maintain and being ahead of the curve. They then use the Vietnam crisis to overhype it.
      >US spazzes out, get the AR15, make it more reliable than the AK in a few iterations, and their new approach to low-impulse ammunition ends up paradigm defining. USSR has to make AK74 to stay relevant.

      >Soviets hyped up armor
      >You know how it goes

      >Soviets hyped up unmanned T14 tank
      >AbramX says lmao

Remember kids, every time Russia overhypes their new kit, NATO will just respond by making the shit they'll have to copy to remain competitive.

Abrams X is a tech demonstrator. They ain’t going to adopt it, it exists to show off what GDELS is capable of making. Think of it like a concept car

While true, to be honest I'm completely expecting the next gen Abrams to similarly dab on the T-14 given the trend on how these things pan out.

When you think about it, all armies are just elaborate collective body armor for the country's leader(s).

  8. 1 year ago
    Anonymous

Always thought the 50 cal claim was bullshit, it could easily be some light grain round fired from a pistol, which would have terrible penetration. That's not stopping a 50bmg, even if it did, the impact would cause internal bleeding that would result in more suffering than just getting your heart blown out.

      Anonymous

Perhaps something like .50 Beowulf or 12.7x55.

I've seen a youtuber test a .50BMG resistant body armor plate already. Thing was impractically heavy, but carryable if extremely bulky. But it also...Didn't really work. Yes, the plate actually stopped the round but it crumpled the dummy and the round shattered with such violence that one of the fragments shot up into the dummy's head and completely gibed it.

So you need a shitton of mass and armor to block it, but then you'll also need at least .357 magnum rated throat protection just to have it not launch a metal shard through your skull

Is there any realistic way to power an exo-skeleton outside of fusion? Seems like until we get miniaturized nuclear reactors this tech will always be a fantasy. It might have uses on base, but until you can have these things operating days at a time without a recharge or ideally eliminating the need for a recharge all together, it will never be used on the front lines.

Fuel cells that could run on gasoline might work, iirc there are some that can run with propane, but they are still too ineffective and large.

      Anonymous

batteries. any actual power plant is decades off at the very best, and that's assumed exponential growth of technology improvements and that it's possible to make reactors small enough for small-scale power armor.

It'll have uses - you don't need to have as long of an operating time as you described to be useful in combat - such as breaking strongpoints and clearing buildings and the like, but you won't be sending it deep behind enemy lines. It'll be a dedicated assault tool. This is for the offense at least, on the defense you might be able to charge it much more regurally since you're on the fricking defense.
