>OP doesn't know that .38 special is getting cheap again >can easily be handloaded >.357 magnum revolvers make .38 feel like 9mm or less depending on the load
>The point >Your head
.38spc has 10mm of extra case length while performing worse than 9mm. It's an exceptionally inefficient cartridge that has only hung around due to .357 and the plethora of surplus revolvers.
revolvers are mechanically simple yet beautiful and super reliable. the only thing it has to do is index to the next round without extracting and feeding between each shot. the only thing that can go wrong is they go out of time every like 20,000 rounds.
Why are you oblivious to decent .38 special ammo? All the average companies way underload them. This is just an average Underwood .38 special +p load. 125grains going 1250fps. That's stronger than any 9mm until you hit +p or +p+ 9mm.
Same foolishness when people say that another pistol caliber is stronger than .357magnum. Not it's not. A standard pressure Underwood .357 pushes 125grains to over 1600fps.
Okay, so let's ignore that you're dumb enough to shell out for Underwood ammo instead of loading your own, there are several pistol calibers stronger than 357 Magnum. The most you can really get out of it is 800 ft-ibs of energy. And that's pushing it back up to the original loads from the 30s, when if you died from your gun blowing up, you were a fricking pussy anyway. .44 Magnum is stronger, as is 45 Colt +P.
You're not getting 1250 FPS out of a snubnose. You're carrying at least a 4 inch to get that much. And frankly, muzzle energy doesn't count for all that much. Shot placement is more important, in the end. Plenty of people have died to 38 S&W and 32 S&W to attest to that.
Works as a handy flashlight though. Remember, 99% of these dick wriggling contests are about CCing and shouldn't be taken seriously no matter how tempting. Caliber flame wars on /k/ have been bait since 2008.
That's not what the post says. It's a shit on .38 Special. And frankly, if that cretin thinks his tapered, weak-ass Imperial German relic is superior, who are we to shout him down? Other than right, that is.
This thread is about .38 special compared to 9mm. I made the comparison and brought in .38specials parallel, .357mag. Your post is incoherent at best. What does .44 and .45 remotely have to do with this thread? Of course there are more powerful calibers than .357mag. I never said otherwise because that's completely irrelevant to the topic.
You went around saying "pistol cartridges" not 9mm. You cherry-picked data from one company and then said it's the same shit when some people say "another pistol caliber is stronger than .357 magnum." There are several more powerful pistol calibers, you fricking Call of Duty Expert.
One more example to show the superiority of .38 and .357. This is a 900 foot pounds of energy standard pressure .357mag load. 180 grains going 1500fps.
why do you keep making these threads?
yh
frick ya mudda
if you're not handloading .38 then you're a moron. singles and OP dies a brutal death.
Because my wife cant frick up using a revolver and .38 still kills Black folk dead.
>he doesnt even mention +p because it kills his fragile argument.
Yeah but the music of 9mm luger doesn't have that southern twang or 3 part guitar harmonies does it?
Plus 9mm luger doesn't still sound great in concerts to this day.

I'm just gonna get this over with, revolvers > pistols
I personally think it's revolvers = semi autos
Both have their ups and downs
I mean, in what regard?
Fricking fence sitter.
I agree

As much as I'd like to CC a 6 1/2 Model 29 I don't think that its in the realm of this thread.

But my point is don't be wrong about shit.

But the 100 casings I got from shooting .38 special through my colt lawman are easy to reload.
