It's not firearm induced, I've always doubled up on earpro. It's from when I had to clear a mansion with an extremely loud, deafening alarm. I'm guessing it's so loud to deter burglars, but the wind blew this moron's door open and his alarm went off so police had to clear the house to make sure no one is being murdered or the place isn't getting burglarized, as is protocol. We all ended up with hearing damage and got 2 million a piece from the negligent moron. With the amount of eeeeeeeee I receive daily and not being able to do my job anymore it isn't fricking enough.

      >got 2 million a piece from the negligent moron
Holy shit, I live in Central Europe and with that type of money I would never have to work again and could live like a king for like 600 years.
But if you say it is so bad that it was not worth it I am very sorry for you, I don't want to imagine. I have tinnitus from a single revolver blank shot. But it was in a very small room, indoors with 0 open windos, just a narrow closed off hallway so that fricked me up good. First 3 days & nights were nothing short of hellish, but with Gods mercy, it went back. I still have it all the time, but it does not annoy me when I try to sleep or something (only sometimes), it is just like a constant thing that is there but in the background and at times I don't even notice it anymore.
      Stay sane my frind

I've actually never gotten tinnitus from shooting indoors, but only had to fire one shot. Didn't even hear my weapon fire, just went deaf for like 5 minutes and hearing slowly came back. I've shot outdoors without earpro before and never got tinnitus. I thought I was immune until moron booby trapped his house.

Serves you right, zogbot. You should be grateful you got anything because you don't deserve shit.

You can't rig your house so that it's inaccessible to first responders who need to enter. It's a law on top of opening yourself up to huge liability like this guy did. What a stupid fricking idea, alarms accidentally activate some 50x more than they're actually legit, im surprised he didn't deafen himself first.

Lesson learned; double up on earpro even if you don't have to.

Cup your hands over your ears to make a seal, and use your thumbs to drum the backside of your neck, just above the the raised vertebrae you can feel on the back. This will relieve tinnitus temporarily.

how do i make my tinnitus go away bros

You can try out tinnitus retraining therapy, which basically involves figuring out the sound of your tinnitus and then making a sound that is the opposite of it in frequency and listening to it for ages. Or it might be like a block of sound with a gap for the tinnitus frequency so you're listening to everything except that, can't remember exactly. Apparently helps some people but not all.

I just pop my ears and hold them open while making a low humming sound, I do the same thing in situations where there's a shitload of noise and particularly high-frequency noise as a natural method of preventing damage. Other than that I double up on quality ear protection and learned how to belt out what I'm saying so others wearing good earpro can actually hear me.

I don't have tinnitus because of my guns, I always wear earpro. I have tinnitus because when I was fourteen I made a shitload of Armstrong's compound out of matches and hit it with a hammer indoors because I was a brain dead teenager that didn't think about how moronic that was.

      Dangerously based

So you scrapped off the red part of matches and hit it with a hammer... why? Just for the vang sound?

        Anonymous

You scrape the red phosphorus off the striker on the box, and use a knife to scrape it into a fine powder. You crush the heads off the matches with plyers, crush the chunks, then scrape it into a fine powder on a separate piece of paper. Mix the two together, and you've created a percussive reactive compound that can be dissolved with ethanol or acetone and used to reload spent primers if you beat the dent in the cup out. I was testing if I did it well enough and vastly underestimated how much I made. I just liked making flammable and explosive compounds as a kid/teenager. I got in trouble as a senior venture in scouts for repeatedly teaching kids that did well in the fire lighting activities how to make fuel-gel mixtures (ghetto napalm) and thermite, and the closest my dad ever got to beating the shit out of me was when I accidentally let a burning balloon full of hydrogen go and it flew around the kitchen on fire.

I have artillery-induced tinnitus, but my hearing loss isn't as bad as a lot of my colleagues because I doubled up on earpro. I just have to keep a fan running at all times or else it'll be EEEEEEEEEEEE.

No I don't, because I'm not a moron that puts comp. style brakes on my guns. Almost all guns are shootable (outside) without a moronic muzzle device choice. No hunter puts fricking larp ear pro on to go hunting so why the duck would I want to need it at the range

I put fricking earpro with an electronic sound amplification and can hear a bobcat taking a piss 5 miles away
