You have $1,000,000 budget and 1 month to equip and train the North Sentinelese to help them repulse an assault by a full strength (pre-Ukraine invasion) battalion size force of Russian VDV. You do not have any intelligence on what part of the island the airborne landing will be. What do you equip them with? How do you train them? What other preparations do you make?

I buy enough ak's to outfit them all an pay some us trainer to run them through a larperator course. I pocket the other 900,000.

Would this work? What if VDV have PKMs and thermobaric rockets?

Then I still have 900,000 dollars. Like I care if the vdv win or lose.

I pay $1000000 to build a giant oscillating fan to blow all of the VDV away from the island

I buy a bunch of fishing boats and have Indians with MANPADS on them. The islanders stare on in incomprehension as helicopters full of burning VDV rain from the sky.

    Probably in the ocean

Buy $1000000 worth of fresh gooey shit and cover the island by a few feet.

i would offer resources and child slaves to NATO and the US, in return they send me supplies and money. i invest the $1mil in propoganda shillling on some homosexual wiener sucking forum to get them to believe that R*ssia is losing and incompetent.

    >$1 million
    >1 month
    Easy!
I quickly get the Sentinalese hooked on fentanyl. They develop monster tolerance levels to opiates - a fat shot of H would be unnoticable.
We leave opiate booby traps all over the island and hide the Sentinalese in a bunker to do their fentanyl. Meanwhile, the VDV lands and discipline decays into a scene from San Francisco because btw I solved America's homeless problem by shipping the junkies to Sentinal Island to fight the VDV for the drugs. And also the natives, who are also now hooked.

It's like Dog Island for junkies and Russians.

requisition $1,000,000 is barely enough to get a single piece of decent construction equipment on the island, let alone fuel, so fortification is basically impossible
1 month probably isn't long enough to teach them to ride and maintain horses, so let's start with 40 mountain bikes and 30 spare bikes + tires/gears for ~$80,000, and ~$20,000 in tools to accelerate digging/fortification, sharpening tools- spades, hatchets, machetes, rope, hammers/nails, and grindstones
Sentinelese will rotate between learning to bike the island + new weapon systems, and engineering thin paths through the island, along with obfuscated fortifications and foxholes where possible, 1 month isn't a long time to hole up either
$900,000 has to kill nominally 700-900 people, so it has to be cost efficient, but also easy enough people used to bows can use them
I would start by seeding foxholes with M14 EBRs, about 40 (2-3 per foxhole) + ~25,000 rounds of 7.62x51mm + ~450 grenades, this accounts for another $200,000
for protection, surplus Claymores should be placed near important trails and foxholes, assuming I have a training team of 12 (green beret standard) evacuating right before the anticipated landing, that gives me about 11136 daylight man-hours to work with, I think you can probably place and document for later demining 2 mines per hour so 840 mines ($100,000 + 420 hours) should be more than easy; if there are only like 2 or 3 people training or I'm alone then it's fricked and maybe older mines are better... a lot of the crew is probably busy fortifying shit and whacking bushes no matter what
every sentinelese should get decent NVG, decent helmets, and good vests, it has to be comfortable enough they don't strip, probably about $12k each for a total of $468,000; round this up to $500,000 by hiding medical supplies for triage/travel packs with food/drink
the remaining $100,000 should be a mix of MAC10s and Cx4 (with ACP ammo) to arm them on the trails, because the VDV is unarmored

Why so many pistol caliber guns? Would those really be optimal for fighting the VDV?

        >Why so many pistol caliber guns?
easier to carry, maintain, and cheap beyond belief if you are on a military credit card and not military surplus
Mac10s got down to ~$100 per gun at some point, about half cost per round compared to the EBRs too
        >Would those really be optimal for fighting the VDV?
VDV in Ukraine outside of photo ops have been helmetless morons in shitty jackets
assuming they got the BMD back into the air somehow the armor would be useless because there's nowhere to drive it, just hide off in the distance and wait for the morons to open a hatch and pop them
I think anti-armor is pure bait and a money sink in this situation where there is no "flag" to capture, just a group of hyper-mobile nignogs

          Anonymous

If they managed to land functioning BMDs, then I think they would pose a serious threat. The island's pretty small and BMD-2 has a 30mm gun.

            Anonymous

the wilderness of the island is feasibly too thick for bikes no way a BMD gets in
I'd worry more about a full encirclement, which one battalion simply doesn't have enough people or vehicles to do, and vatniks burning down the whole island systematically like the animals they are, but I don't think there's any reasonable response to that threat in a mil or less budget
anywy, the crew can't stay in that BMD or those BMD(s) forever, and when they leave, NVG hunter gatherers in ghetto spec ops outfits pop out with their fancy new EBRS

also some clarification that "encirclement" of an island matters long-term because a lot of the food the Sentinelese eat is fished up iirc, and they wouldn't have large stores of food, not because they are cut off from some kind of external supplies from other islands

what the hell man, I think my strat for $1 million would work
$100 million, you alone, and native sentinelese falls on the complete opposite side of the aisle, trivial beyond belief, just beef the island with anti-armor and anti-personnel mines, give them .50 cal and a shitload of javelins, and skip bikes in favor of ATVs + 1-2 bulldozers to make rad ATV tracks, and finally get some Vulcans
you don't need the natives to drive the Vulcans, just plant them on each beachhead and wait one per for the stupid motherfrickers to try to land
you should have $30-$40 million leftover, that can pay for demining
sell access to the sick new motoX course to justify the expenditure

Pocket the one million and make use of what they already have. Going through basic guerilla warfare tactics. VDV will get rekt regardless.
