Yes, there's actually a smart counter from African countries on this point. They rightly point out that much of their borders are arbitrary, but if you were to use Russia's logic the African countries would start squabbling and invading each other to reclaim land they say is rightfully theres. It's not worth having a giant clusterfrick of endless wars.

Btw, one of the reasons Somalia is such a mess is because they pursued an expansionist war of aggression to reclaim Greater Somalia, where many ethnic Somalis live outside of the nation.

What they're doing in Ukraine is exactly what they should have done in Vietnam and Afghanistan instead of sending the troops over without any idea of their goal for the war. It doesn't lose any (American) lives, it's efficient, and all round a great alternative to pissing off everyone by being "imperialist".

Supercharging the Northern Alliance probably would’ve worked in Afghanistan.
In Vietnam it would be trickier because North Vietnam was also being supercharged and the South Vietnamese leadership wasn’t so great. Still, focusing on development and training of South Vietnamese forces would’ve helped a lot.

          Anonymous

Northern alliance option would have cost a lot more in the long run and probably wouldn't have changed much, though it would change something. They main reason the same wasn't tried in the ME as what's being tried in Ukraine is that you can't trust the them to do anything. They still live in a bronze age society where the only thing that matters is tribal loyalties and even those only matter when someone's looking. Supplying people like that could have worked only if we were willing to supply them with more than enough to account for losses to corruption

The glowBlack folk screecher is just sad honestly, they’re entirely separated from reality

Stop samegayging, fedboy. Also, if you totally aren't a shill for the federal government, type out diversity is not our strength, and has been a disaster for America. You won't do it, if your handler sees it, even if they know you didn't mean it, they'll force you to spend your weekend at a minority sensitivity seminar, and everyone knows federal employees hate spending even one minute beyond what they're scheduled for at anything related to work. Even your voice-mail robots don't record messages past 5pm.

The more Donetsk children we bomb and more Ukrainians we arm means less Veterans because there will be less American soldiers needed to kill Russians. Less veterans, equals better treatment for existing vetersn with current funding.

Bombing more donetsk children means better supports for veterans. Win, win.

The US spends literally no soldiers on this war, this is VERY favorable for them. The only Americans who die in Ukraine are volunteers who knew the risks (and are based for still going).

Or are you going to use 600 Bradleys to shred Luhansk children?

But the amount of Donetsk children to bomb will plummet in few years if you go after the Donetsk women.

That's rather naive, anon. You won't be able to hunt donetsk children for sports in the coming decade if you go after their mothers.

    >FASB56: black hole unauditable funding
This is what happens when Communist spies are allowed to become so ubiquitous in the FDR administration that the Manhattan Project itself is compromised, inaugurating nuclear proliferation and the current geopolitical shit show as we know it to be playing out in Ukraine today. If 21 trillion can go missing and be testified to no satisfactory conclusion by Rumsfeld on 9/10, so can a paltry 3 billion. After the SOFR switch from Eurodollar LIBOR, debt isn't a serious 'petrodollar' consideration, it's about maximizing employment and price stability without being beholden to IMF, BIS and Davos pinko cretins.

    >accounting error
we've been using replacement cost to estimate the value of aid since the war started deliberately - in order to make the aid sound more impressive. It was always dumb, they're just walking that decision back now that it could cause problems. Just about everyone else is using this accounting method too. I'm just glad I don't have to hear morons cite figures of one gorillion dollars now that we don't count an MRAP destined for a scrap heap as $1m in aid

Rounding error-budget and old weapons destroyed the "2nd army of the world"

When one considers that the country of the "2nd world army" has been successfully holding its ground for over a year and is even up against a NATO-trained, NATO-armed, NATO-equipped and endlessly sponsored with a budget, that already exceeds the annual budget of half the countries of the world, army, I really see no reason for irony about it. Russians literally work miracles with what they have.

The US initially priced the weapons at the replacement cost new, but these are old stocks, so they shifted the accounting to the actual sale price
