Unironically based. You are americans, you have your own country, basing your identity on a place where your great grandpa came inside your great grandma is mighty fricking cringe. We have our own substitute of those gays here in Europe, inbred fricks bragging about some remote ancestor being a noble, owning some land or title. Only people who never achieved anything in their own lives brag about it here, i bet it's the same in the USA

No, that's cringe. Half our problems are because of people refusing to let go of a homeland that they have no stake in and likely forced their ancestors out of. Its not just white people with plastic paddys and militant ginzos and renaissance fairs; our Black folk have the same problems kemet we wuz kangz shit and taking gap years in Liberia. And the issues with Israeli dual citizenships shouldn't need an explanation at all.

      >refusing to let go of a homeland that they have no stake in and likely forced their ancestors out of
There are benefits to look into though if you get lucky or play your cards right.
I recently just spoke with the German consulate in NYC and they recommended I apply for recognition of German citizenship, because through sheer happenstance, my grandpa was born in the US in the 30's before my great-grandpa became a US citizen, and thus was born a dual-citizen.
That passed on to my mother, and subsequently to me.
So once I am recognized by Germany as a dual citizen, I will be able to travel, live, and work anywhere in the EU without a visa.

I rep my home state, not my country. Also, identifying as German despite not ever having lived there just because you have German ancestry is fricking cringe. Why the frick do Americ**ts obsess so much over 'muh ancestry' when you haven't the slightest clue what those countries are actually like. Why do they insist on continuing outdated and often stereotypical 'cultural' elements when nobody who is actually from the country gives a shit. Why are you so proud of a country you quite literally have no association to?

      Anonymous

Because a lot of Americans come from former immigrant stock and instead of adopting American culture they rather LARP.
They should just learn the language and frick off but deep down they know the US is better than everyone else and they'll never make it even if they tried getting dual citizenship then moving away.

I know a shit ton of Americans who want to move because they understand how flawed the country is but don't because of various reasons. Its often easier to live in a shitty situation you're comfortable with then to step out of your comfort zone and take a risk. Exact same reason people stay in shitty relationships, and the USA is the equivalent of a manipulative findom GF.

americans are all extremely mongrelized and have no ancestry or ties to any old world country, thats why they put races on pedestral and larp about them

for an american the only races that exist are whyte, black, mexican or asian, they do not comprehend the concept that someone in europe can glance at someone for 1 second and immediately see if they are swedish, german, finnish, french, bri'ish, italian etc

NTA but what nation do I rep? I’m fully mud blood but predominantly Italian (1/4. Grandpa was born and lived in Italy until his 20s) and Native American (1/8. Grandpa was a native who knocked up my grandma before running off. Genetic testing indicates that he was only half as opposed to full blooded.)

          Anonymous

Likely Italian, civically whatever your heart desires, people can like other people's way of doing things
But your gpops being half says it all, without comprehensive understanding of your family tree it's quite up in the air
For example my father's side of my family is Scot granddad and Irish mother
Their parents, parents parents and beyond had plenty of English admixture, especially since Scots are the exact same as English genetically
So I can say I'm 1/4 each, but that's not how it actually works
My grandmother on mother's side was Welsh, but her father's side was quickly English again, and the admixture of Welsh/English is almost entirely the same
You need to know a lot more than your parent and their parents to even get an inkling

I don't understand americans. Whenever I meet some in germany and they start telling me how they're german-americans I start talking in german to them.
You only get confused looks. They also never have any understanding of actual local customs. Talked to a guy in Düsseldorf who was proudly telling me how his family came from Hamburg originally and how he loved going out to pretzel shops and drink wheat beer in Jersey. Nevermind that both of these are a bavarian thing and have nothing to do with Hamburg.
Its extremly cringe tbh. Kinda reminds me of trannies, desperatly pretending to be something they are not.
