      Some do, they're called Bank-to-Turn (BTT), as opposed to Skid-to-Turn (STT).

        so BTT rotates the whole missile sorta like a plane would? and I assume STT kinda keeps the missile flat and yaws it around to turn?

          To simplify it: pretty much. I'm no expert, and can't think of many BTT missiles that have entered service. So, don't take what I say as gospel, but, use the terms to further your research - if you choose to.

          Yeah, I forgot all about the battery limits. Like being able to "warm-up" the seeker for an hour straight, all the while being radiation hardened with the ability to survive 100G+ lateral loads, etc. Oh, and it needs to do this while the IR focal plane array (FPA) is getting hit with 5000psi of -300 degree F argon/nitrogen to cool it down. Most people don't realize just how complicated seeker heads are, and how much it costs to make a reliable one that works as intended when you need to.

      Sensors. You are ALWAYS paying for the sensors, and they're not cheap. For some missiles, you're looking at $300k+ JUST for the seeker head.
